My BF is obsessed with this place.
Whenever I want to buy my BF flowers or gift him anything, I gift him tacos instead. And he’s as happy as any Mexican little boy would be.
This is by far his favorite place.
So since I always drive out to buy him tacos, I decided to order a few for myself.
I ordered 5 de asada and it was hands down the best asada tacos I’ve ever eaten in my entire life.
I now understand the hype.
It’s hard for me to eat meat Bc I get grossed out easily by it. But the meat here is very good. Will be back

You got to try these tacos. There so delish. It’s fast service, good food and great price. Just tacos. Nothing else. The place gets packed quick, but the crowd is gone in no time because of the quick service. Large enough to bring a ton of friends with you. Just don’t expect a fancy setting. It’s clean, but set up like any other taco joint, inexpensive tables/​chairs.

Best tacos around! The steamed tortilla is so light. The meat is lean and not greasy at all. The habanero salsa is delicious. The place is crowded, but take out is really fast. I’m hooked.

Wanted to give it 4 stars because of a few issues but the tacos were amazing so i figured it was worth whatever trouble i have in going here. Mainly my issue is that I can’t phone in an order which is annoying because I only go here when I’m at work which is nearby. I don’t speak any Spanish but its relatively easy to order and even though they do call out your order in Spanish, you just have to stay vigilant and it shouldn’t be too hard to know when your order is ready. I recommend the cabeza, labio and cachete tacos.

I was trying to look for a place for wet burritos. And places kept popping up. Then this location popped up (of course it doesn’t have anything else but tacos). I saw the ratings and reviews and decided to try it myself. Hands down the best tacos. I got the Asada which weren’t all that. But the Cabeza and lip ones were great. First time there and it won’t be the last. Their salsas are Great as well. Gotta go back and try the other meats. Place seems like it’s always packed. There was a line out the door.

Very very average tacos. No menu. no red salsa (big negative in my opinion) No refills. This place is just not right for me. Plenty of other spots for tacos. No need to mention them. Meat I tried (Carne asada) is average. I shall continue to search for the perfect tacos.

These tacos are amazing and cheap. $ 1.40 each. You’ll need two or three to fill up.
Everything is very fresh and authentic, with cucumbers, radishes, hot peppers, and limes on the side.
The salsa is the best part of this place.
Salsa verde is fresh with a hint of spice, while the brown salsa is killer hot and delicious. Doesn’t kick in until after you stop eating.
Don’t walk in this place unless you know at least a little bit of Spanish. It’s hopping busy, and there’s no written menu.
You’ll order in Spanish, they’ll call your number in Spanish. It’s an adventure.
I loved it and I’ll be back.

Great tacos. First time here d/​t recommendation by a coworker. I am not a Spanish speaking individual, so it was hard ordering. But the cashier apologized, definitely not their fault, I mean I am at their establishment that is of another culture. I tried one of each, my favorite is the cachete!!! Bomb, soft, tender, tasted like beef bone marrow. Love that they have cucumbers and condiments.

I tried the tacos de asada a vapor and cabeza. They were really good. The salsas are spicy. You can also get cucumbers, radishes, and lemon on the side. Definitely will be back

Review: 2x Cabeza, 4x Asada
I am not a big cabeza fan, but I wanted to try it here and I definitely was not disappointed. In fact, I should have ordered 6x cabeza because it was that good. Not that the asada was bad, it just did a little something different for me.
They only have 2 choices of salsa: mild (green) and hot (orange). I suggest using both of the salsas together for an oral orgasm.

Really good tacos de asada and green salsa. No tacos de pastor or chicken. Just tacos from different parts of a cow (head, tongue, cheeks and even lips). Crowded and not the cleanest taco place I’ve been to.

Tacos El Negro is perhaps the best taqueria in the Southeast Los Angeles area. The meat is cooked «estilo al vapor» (steamed) and offer a variety of cheap cuts like beef cachetes (cheeks), lengua (tongue), and cabeza (head). Due to the steaming cooking technique the meats are very tender and flavorful. If you care for salsa, they have two kinds: green and brown. The green one consists mainly of tomatillos and isn’t that spicy where as the brown one is made purely from habaneros. Although Tacos El Negro isn’t hyped or very recognized, you are guaranteed in eating consistent and satisfying tacos.

The style is «vapor» and they are delicious. People ask what makes a great Taco? Start with a good Tortilla and your halfway there. Tacos El Negro gets the Tortilla right. I might even go as far as saying that this is the Best Taco Place South Gate has. If you like Cabeza I’d start there. Then explore Labio y cachete. Limon? They got you covered. Unlike some places that deny you this crucial part of a Taco … Here at el Negro get as much as you like. Salsa is hot but good… That means you get the kick without overwhelming you. If you are looking for a Taco this is a definite option.

First time here tonight on a recommendation. There is no menu and they offer only 4 type of meat tacos. I ordered 4 tacos of lips, cheeks, head and carne asada. The tacos were some what flavorless, so I added salt to them. The meat appeared to have been steamed cooked and it is finely chopped. They have cucumbers, radishes and green chili available. The salsa was okay, but it too was a little bland for my taste. I wanted to try some place new since I was in the area tonight. It was a full house, so maybe the people in the area like their tacos this way.

Now who doesn’t like tacos?
This place is legit! Keep in mind they only sell tacos here. When I first started coming here it was always crowded. Now that the spot next door became available they opened up the wall and added more seating. But it’s still always crowded. lol
The tacos here are like your favorite chips, you can’t just have one. The meat is tender, flavorful, and they’re not tight with it. They have two salsas, a green salsa (yellow squeeze bottle) and my favorite a habanero salsa (red squeeze bottle). Be very careful with the red. It will make you sweat in places you didn’t even know you could. lol
Try this place out, you will not be disappointed.

Son buenos, en mi opinion les falta mas variedad de carnes (con dos mas que tuvieran seria muy bueno) al igual que la salsa solo tienen dos, la que NO pica y la que pica DEMASIADO (es de habanero) solo falta la salsa roja que pica lo NORMAL. La tortilla es buena y el tamaño tambien.
