Wasatch View Eye Care

So, I’ve used Dr. Mellor several times and my wife has used him on a few occasions as well for contact and glasses. I have to say that I’m always pleased leaving his office. Dr. Mellor and staff have done an excellent job working with us. My vision insurance is crap and his office is great at making it affordable for us to get an exam. Also, he stays late several days during the week and I’ve called and been able to get in on the same day after work @6pm! To me that’s awesome!
On a side note I will say that there are some reviews on here that miffed me in regards to Dr. Mellor not bein clean shaven or whatever. I could care less that he is shaved or not, but I do care that he is knowledgable in his profession and is friendly with his clients. So with that being said, If you only get one or two thing out of this just know he works hard to get people affordable eye exams and he knows his profession.
I would highly recommend him to anyone needing an eye exam/​care.

I found Wasatch View through a Groupon, just wanted a eye exam. What I learned was my eyes were in very bad shape, I had Radial Keretotomy surgery done 20 years ago, lasic twice, yet I was struggling to read my computer. Turns out my eye had been damaged during the surgery and I was never told, it now had significant deterioration. I had seen several other doctors who never once mentioned my condition or provided options, including the fancy one on State Street in Draper that advertises all the time. Glasses were not an option. Dr. Mellor had me come in for several visits trying various brands of custom contact lenses, he was very patient and took the time to figure out what was going on. This was not easy as my vision could change drastically from one visit to the next. We finally found the Kerasoft lenses worked wonders for me. I have been wearing them for over a year now, and the changes to my vision has been dramatic, I am very active, but had started skipping activities that I loved because of my vision, fortunately I no longer have to worry about that and am as active as I have ever been, and my family is no longer scared to ride in my car with me. I can’t thank Dr. Mellor enough for what he has done for. He is very knowledgeable, and patient. I highly recommend Dr. Mellor, not only for basic eye exams, but if you are struggling after, RK, PRK, Lasic, etc, You should schedule a visit with him ASAP.

My husband had a piece of hay in his eye. I called wasatch view & they were able to get us in first thing in the morning. Dr. Mellor was very professional & extremly nice. He got the piece of hay out of my husbands eye right away. Definitely recommending him to my family & friends.

I went here about a year ago and the doctor was great. He really helped out my step mom who never needed glasses before.
The thing i didnt like was the glasses selection. There werent very many and they were very pricey.

I started seeing Dr Mellor last year when I had to get specialty lenses and he was one of the only optometrist I called that did the lenses. I was very impressed with his prices. I recently went back and he was very helpful. He was very professional during the exam. I will continue to go back to him and have even recommended him to my family.

I visited for the first time a few months ago for a new pair of glasses. I received great service from Dr. Mellor, a good deal on a pair of glasses, and a short waiting time for them to arrive. I was very happy with the selection to choose from. Would definitely recommend!

The best and most friendly eye doctor I’ve been to. I was having issues with my prescription, which I brought in from a different eye doctor. Wasatch View went above and beyond to ensure I had the best vision possible and that I was completely satisfied with the results.

I visited Dr. Mellor last September for an eye exam, glasses, and contacts. He was on time, efficient, and offered me a discount on my contacts without my asking for one. This was nice and I would have returned, but it’s the customer service that he demonstrated this weekend that prompted me to write a review.
When I met Dr. Mellor last year, he was very nice, friendly, and genuine. Two days ago I called his office (probably after hours) and no one answered. He called me a few hours later on a Friday night to follow up with my unanswered phone call. I told him that I was calling to get my contact prescription because I was completely out. He offered to go into the office Saturday morning (even though it was closed) to to email me a copy of my prescription. I really couldn’t believe it. And he actually did.
Seriously, what more could you ask for? Dr. Mellor certainly went above and beyond for my care in a non-​serious situation; I can only imagine the lengths he would take if the situation were dire.

I agree with LW. He does look very sloppy and unkempt. (Needs to shave most of the time). The bigger lady who works there was rude. I will never go there.

Had a great experience at Wasatch View Eye Care. Dr. Mellor was actually able to get my daughters glasses made the same day she had her eye exam– for less $$ than those other places-​how cool is that? The location is easy to find, just off 106^th south, north side of the street. Plenty of parking, nice little lobby to wait in (wait time was hardly anything!) We will definitely be coming back for all of our eye care needs!
