Love this little joint! Never disappoints food wise! I love the turkey sandwich since it’s the only one with avocado and alfalfa sprouts, and the bread is nice and thick and chewy. I also love the rare roast beef sandwich; blue cheese and caramelized onions are always a favorite! Usually order to go because whenever I go the lunch rush is in full swing and it gets a bit crowded inside and outside the restaurant. Definitely a cool environment, and their dessert options are great but so huge!

I used to come come here every other weekend for brunch, but i cant remember why i stopped coming so i gave it another try today… 1-food average. you can get similar food any where 2-service below average. you see tons of staffs over the counter but they just seem busy walking back and fore without any purpose. i dont get it… and my waiter seems to be overloaded with attitude… 3-latte or espresso related drinks are questionable. my stomach always get bubbly afterward. yet this doesnt happen anywhere else ***matcha green tea latte has clumpssssss of matcha in it. why !!!

Hard to notice where this is if you haven’t been before as there was no large sign saying Heirloom Bakery, from a drivers perspective it can be overlooked. However, finding street parking was a sinch! Since I missed the sign for the restaurant on my turn onto the street, I used the walk feature on the google maps app(I always find myself walking one direction then the other to figure out which way is which… WHICH definitely makes me look like I don’t know where I’m going :/) but I used my intuition to choose which direction to go and was about to ask someone where it was bc I couldn’t see a sign, but then I saw the words on their window which was behind a brick exterior from the street. Ordering at the front inside, grab a number and have the choice of sitting inside or outside. I had an espresso and the avocado toast! Sometimes I am hesitant to order avocado toast from certain places with I am not sure how big it would be for how expensive it is, but I highly recommend trying it here. 1 large slice cut in half with not one, but two poached eggs on top of a generous layer of avocado with slices of radishes, chives(I think) and red pepper flakes spread around and slices of tomato on the side of the plate.

I was meeting with an old friend of mine to discuss some business and we decided to meet by the Gold Line station. Since this bakery was across the street, we decided to just eat breakfast here. It’s a cozy little spot with outdoor seating as well. They offer a variety of breakfast and lunch items besides the traditional scones, croissants, other pastries and cakes for breakfast. On their board, was listed some items for a hot breakfast and we both decided to order the Hearty Breakfast and a coffee. This plate should really be called the«Carbo Load Breakfast» because it comes with 2 poached eggs, black beans, brown rice pilaf, cheddar cheese, fresh salsa, sour cream, tortillas or toast. I guess poached eggs counts somewhat as protein but I really need my meat which this didn’t have. I thought the meal itself was decent, nothing special really but it did fill you up pretty well. As I said, I usually prefer some kind of meat with my breakfast so I probably wouldn’t order this again if I were to return but it was good to try anyways. Some of the baked goods looked really appetizing so if I’m close by, I could stop in here again for some coffee and a snack. They also have salads and sandwiches which looked really good. I think they raised some of the prices on their offerings since some of the other pictures were taken because I was under the impression that this place was a little more higher-priced. Anyways, if you’re looking for a place to chill over breakfast and coffee, this is a good place to consider.

I got Café con Pana and a piece of Key Lime Pie… the Café con Pana wasn’t too bitter and was very smooth and nice. Key Lime pie was light and tart, not so sweet, and had a great texture. Only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars is the how the menu is set. As a designer, things like that bothers me… The breakfast menu was on the one side, the coffee menu was on the other side… and even though i understand that the chalkboard look is trending, i wish it was done in better way and together…

My family ate here for the first time yesterday. I had the French chicken sandwich. My wife had the cobb salad, and our daughter the mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. I would normally give a place like this 4 stars, but what gets it to five stars are the prices. Everything seemed very reasonable. I wish we lived closer so we could go back more often.

Husband and I came here for breakfast. We ordered that yummy chocolate pecan coffee cake, pressed sand which and quiche of the day. All were delicious! We also ordered 2 iced coffees and our bill was under $ 30. The seats outside were nice and clean. We were in the shade and you can hear the quiet train occasionally. Only street parking. Didn’t like how the drink menu was past the cash register… Would return.

When we first walked by Heirloom Bakery months ago, it was alive with activity, bristling with patrons both inside and out on their patio, and we promised each other then that we would return at some point to try it. That first impression unfortunately would prove to be just a fleeting memory of an Ideal café scene after our actual visit just a month ago… Imagine driving by with the place busy only to find the place deserted just minutes after parking the car. The place looked wrecked, dirty with litter and unbussed tables as if a mob had just left. The wait staff was already counting the kitty(common tips), and some of the split-shift workers were already settling in to eat during their break out in the common area where everyone sits to eat. All of this was evident as we walked inside and perused the blackboard menu… Before settling on a couple of sandwiches, my wife was contemplating a salad but changed her mind when she saw a fly in case. The ditzy girl behind the counter was either having a bad day or else her stupidity was really showing, looked like the lightbulb went out on that one. She didn’t offer any opinion regarding the menu items when asked about the differences in the sandwiches leaving us hanging out to dry so-to-speak, we could only rely on the menu description of each item to make our choices. When I asked for a Bundaberg she looked puzzled until I pointed to the ginger beer in the same refrigerated case as the salads. I would realize later that the bottle wasn’t even cold when the cashier asked me if I wanted a cup of ice with my drink. Am I the only one worried that the bottle, and consequently the salads were not refrigerated? As I reflect more upon the experience, I refuse to believe anyone is really that dumb and I am thinking that it was more likely I was just slighted… You order, pay, and then find seating where they will bring the food out to you. The only table that seemed remotely clean was the one in the corner, but I had to ask the waitress to clear the window sill next to me of used bottles and glasses from previous diners. It was precisely because I was sitting in the corner of the dining room that I could tell that the dining area was pretty much a mess… Our sandwiches were grill pressed but I would stop short of calling them paninis. She had the Smoked Turkey with Brie which unfortunately sounded a hell of a lot better than it actually tasted. Ordinarily the caramelized onion and dijon mustard would have a more pronounced affect on the flavor but you could hardly taste any contribution from either. The turkey is already mild but the smokiness wasn’t present, the gouda wasn’t aged very long I imagine so it was still at a pretty mild stage as well. This resulted in a tasteless sandwich that she only wanted to take a couple of bites of… My sandwich was the Rare Roast Beef and it was only marginally better. The added ingredients is precisely what I normally like to add on my cheeseburger: bleu cheese, arugula, caramelized onions. The rare beef was evenly deli sliced but thicker and looked processed as opposed to rare«tai» flank that comes with phở, or thinly sliced carpaccio. They also used a bleu cheese crumble that is more appropriately used for a salad instead of having bleu cheese sliced from a block which would have been better. I wound up sharing half my sandwich because my wife’s turned out so bad… I was looking at the choices of dessert in the case, but there was nothing too inspiring. I would have been interested in their hostess cake but it was nowhere to be seen. My choices were pretty much limited to a chocolate chip cookie or a brownie so I chose the latter. Nothing very special… Disappointed with our visit and not inspired enough to go through this again…
