Atlas Van Lines Agent

I made the mistake of signing a non-​binding contract with Atlas, only to then be charged 150% of their estimate! That’s right — 150%!!! They claim that they underestimated the weight, but how could they possibly be off by 50%?!? Now they’ve filed a lawsuit against me because I only paid 110%. I’ve had to hire an attorney which is like rubbing salt into the wound. DO NOT USE ATLAS MOVERS!!! THEY DO. OT KEEP THEI WORD, THEY GIVE ALL MOVING COMPANIES A BAD NAME!!!

If you read no further — just do NOT book Atlas Van Lines. I had such a horrible experience with Atlas Van Lines that I actually opened a Unilocal account just to make sure no one else gets ripped off by them.
I second Mandi’s experience — I did not receive all of my belongings back, and several of the bookcases and chairs that they did move were damaged in the move and now unusable. I also used them to pack my belongings, which ultimately turned out to be a $ 1500 mistake, as they charged $ 80 for a single dish box. Interesting that the estimate that I received for the packing and supplies was going to be $ 250. Are you kidding? When a dish box costs $ 80, then there is no way that packing up an entire 1 bedroom apartment is going to cost $ 250 in supplies. The women who provided me with the estimate — Melissa — was very convincing; she said «I used to do visual estimates» so I can see imagine how much stuff you have from the item list that you have provided me, and it is not going to cost more than $ 600 for the move and 3 hours for 3 men. Well, $ 1500 and 6 hours later, I received my belongings, damaged. In addition, the three men could not have cared less about the walls and the hallways. They ruined two walls by bumping heavy furniture into the walls and tore up the carpet by dragging my furniture up the stairs one by one.
I have used movers 5 times in my life, and I have never had an experience as horrendous as this. In this competitive market of moving companies, there is absolutely no reason why you should use these movers — the company is one big fraud.
