Service was very slow. I ordered a Caesar salad and I got a regular side salad with no dressing at all. Asked for dressing and got Italian. Because service was so slow I just ate it rather than ask for it to be corrected. My burger was very good though. Tempted to give 2 stars but I’ve heard good things about this place and have only eaten there once so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt.

My husband and I stopped by for breakfast and loved it, I had the country boy, it’s eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, best biscuits and gravy in town, my husband had the sausage cheese omelet, their sausage is very tasty! The prices were amazing, we will probably become a regular :)

I made a stop here on my way home from Lake Wawasee(obviously with a little creative navigation) because I read a few good reviews for the place and because I wanted a breakfast that didn’t start with«Mc» if you know what I mean. This place really delivered! It is a mom and pop diner with excellent breakfast and even better prices. It’s full of regulars and I’m pretty sure they don’t get too many out of towners, but everyone was super friendly. The waitress seemed to know everyone by name. I had the biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs. Delicious. Eggs cooked perfectly. It was a huge portion of biscuits and gravy, too and I’m pretty sure my bill was less than $ 6. I highly recommend stopping here for hot breakfast any time you’re in the neighborhood!

Stopped in Mayberry, errrr… I meant South Whitley especially to eat at this café as I had seen reviews about it on other sites and had to see if it was THAT good. Well, the trip there was worth it, the place is THAT good! The service was outstanding, the menu had some things on it that I was not familiar with(remember I am from THE South) and asked about them. The young lady working there was more than patient and explained any of the questions and made recommendations to us. She was also very prompt, friendly, courteous, kind, whoops, that is the Boy Scouts, isn’t it? Well, my opinion is that she would make an excellent scout, in addition to being an awesome waitress. After looking over the menu, I decided to get one of the tenderloin sandwiches and sides. My wife opted for the ham steak and sides and both of us were very impressed with the quality of the foods and the way that it was prepared.(Everything is prepared when you order it, fresh hot, and yummy! Kudos to the Chef!) You have to try the iced tea, its fresh and about as good as you will get anywhere, no instant here. The prices were reasonable, the portions a bit on the big side(but not huge, unless you get the«Truckers Special» breakfast, that is a different story), and the food was good and filling. All in all, this place should be on «Diners, Drive-ins and Dives» on Food Network as its definitely a cut above the places we have seen and went to that have been featured on that show. As a matter of of fact, am now proceeding to the site to recommend it now… Do yourself a favor, be sure and head to this place NOW, do not wait. PS: Be sure and call to get the hours as they are open late(8PM) on Mondays and Fridays(I think that is right), but only to 3PM other days. They open at 5AM every day and serve breakfast any time they are open, if that is what you want to eat.
