Haven’t had Lebanese food in a while so thought while in town I would give it a try. I wasn’t disappointed. I tried a little of everything. Spinach pie, lamb stuffed grape leaves, smashed lentil soup and then chicken shafta. The food was wonderful. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. The soup was incredible. Will definitely come by next time in town.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for awhile and finally had the opportunity. We got there before the lunch rush, but the service was still rather slow. It may have just been our waiter, as I noted a group that came in after us got there food well before we got ours. Once the lunch rush did come in, service became even slower so that was a bit dispiriting. I should also mention that this place is pretty small, and the already cramped restaurant felt even tighter as the group waiting for tables to open up grew and grew. If you are in a rush for lunch, Grape Leaves may not be the best choice. For the food, The fresh bread they give you before your meal was great, but they don’t give you the delicious garlic spread that most Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurants serve with it. That was a little disappointing. I had the Chicken Kafta with crushed lentil soup. The soup was a rather large portion and quite good! After a long waiting period, my meal finally came out and was also great. Overall Grape Leaves has excellent food but the service isn’t of the same quality by my experience. I will still try it again in hopes my service experience was just a one time thing.

Not a bad little Lebanese spot. My buddy and I went here for lunch earlier this week to celebrate him getting hired at my work and the overall experience wasn’t bad. We got there at little before your typical lunch rush so the place was pretty empty. With that said, our service was a bit on the slow side when it shouldn’t have been. Our waitress was friendly, but she rarely checked on us to see how things were or to refill our drinks. While they do offer a small handful of lunch specials I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have an actual lunch menu of some kind. Mainly what I would have liked to see was something like a sandwich plus a side and drink for X amount of dollars, but they don’t have anything like that. When I asked she said everything was a la cart. I’m by no means cheap, but it would have been nice if they offered some type of deal like that. The food was good. The sandwich had good flavor and the chicken was moist and tender. Their garlic sauce had a nice little kick to it which I like and their rice was decent as well. I am so used to plain old boring rice pilaf, but theirs was actually really nice. Overall I’d go back, but I just wished they offered a broader lunch menu and/or combos when it comes to sandwiches.

Middle Eastern food is all about flavor and cleanliness to me. It has savory meats often cut with sharp, clean salads and pickled vegetables. Breads are light, fluffy, and not filling. So when I tried this place for dinner, I had high hopes. Sadly, I was kind of let down. Pros: + Clean restaurant. + Sauteed beef dish pretty tasty. + Wings pretty good! Although they could be more crispy. + Salad pretty damn good. Cons: — Sauteed beef dish kind of oily. They should have drained the oil before they put it on my dish. — Rice here not that good. I’ve had better at the middle eastern spot in Royal Oak. — No cute girl waitress(A negative, but does not factor into rating) — Meat Pie is really meat wontons. I mean it’s more pie than meat. Not that good. — Pickled vegetables not crunchy. Maybe it’s been pickled too long. Honestly this place is just ok. I’ve had better at other places. It wasn’t busy on a Saturday night, which was weird to me. But the real deal breaker was the busboy who came up to us asking if we were from China. Then he asked if we were Korean. Like, really? Is there a thing where you think all Asians are Chinese, and then if not, you go to the second most popular race, Korean? Sick of your shit.

I am one of the few that is not a fan of middle eastern food in my family and circle of friends. That being said I get taken to a lot of middle eastern places. Grape leaves stands out usually for good good and service. Give it a try if you’re new to Lebanese food or not it’s worth the trip. The bread is especially good.

I came here for lunch. The food was good and they have a large sandwich selection. I was disappointed that they didn’t offer sandwich lunch combis, although most Mediterranean places do. They where very busy during lunch, and it showed in our poor service. One person in our group of 10 recived his lunch 30 minutes after ordering. Although thr bread is fresh made and was excellent, it did not come with garic spread. Which I was shocked by. I did end up orderinh some garlic spread, and the waiter brought out 3 dishes to the table and to my suprise when we got our bill he charged me a $ 1.50 for each! Don’t ask for separate checks, the waiter can’t handle that.

Easy choice for a lunch spot during the work week, I was told to seat myself, at first I was worried about being forgotten but the staff was very attentive! I ordered the lunch special of shish tawook(aka chicken kabob no longer on the kabob and rice) along side the option of soup or salad — I went with the salad, great size ! I was brought a basket of three pieces of the toasty warm yummy pita bread ! Everything went swell, I wasn’t rushed in or out. Next time I’d like to try the raw fresh juice ! Nothing too special, it was good quality, good service and good price, i’ll totally be back!

I placed a large order at noon on the day of pick-up. When I arrived it was hot and ready. The food was flavorful. I also appreciated that it was enough to feed my group and fit my small budget. I will return.

Not sure how this restaurant only has 4 stars, but this was one of my better dining experiences of all time. You seat yourself and the staff promptly serves WATER. We ordered soft baked bread with a garlic side/“dip”. The lunch menu was vast and I opted for Lamb in a bit of flat bread. Sorry, I forget the exact name of it. I also ordered a refreshing cucumber and yogurt salad with a fresh squeezed Mango juice. All was delicious enough to make me return a 2nd time during the week. Thank you for the experience. The food is super dope!

Great prices, helpful staff. I had the hummus and tabouli wrap(which literally only had hummus and tabouli in it — nothing else… i expected some bigger tomato pieces or more veggies in it but it was delicious regardless!) and the regular fries which were awesome. The hummus was the best tasting hummus i have ever had, and i eat A LOT of hummus. Get the ranch on the side! Fast, tasty, and lots of vegetarian options as well. $ 15 for two meals. I will come back again.

Outstanding. Chicken and beef kabobs so good. Kafka is real love food. Pita and hummus also very good. The owner stood and talked to me and explained the most popular dishes and was very proud and passionate about their food. Also had Lentil soup. Excellent as well. Wish they had a restaurant in Nashville. I would definitely be there often. Make sure you visit when nearby Detroit. You won’t be disappointed.

I was a regular here for quite a while and loved it! They get busy at lunch so be warned– it’s a little loud but delicious food. The Fattoush salad with chicken and feta is my favorite, along with their lentil soup. The bread is made fresh in the oven in front of you and absolutely amazing. Service is quick too, they know how to turn tables at lunchtime and I really appreciate that when I need to get back to work on time.

I was visiting Michigan on work, and thankfully, my clients offered to take me out to lunch. I asked that we try something unique to the area, and they took me to Grape Leaves, which was an excellent choice. Everything we ordered was delicious, flavors were excellent, and we had a great supply of hot, fresh bread paired with outstanding hummus for the table. Our server was very prompt and polite, and the prices were extremely reasonable. This is the kind of place I’d eat at once a week if I lived in the area.

Crazy Loud at Lunch Time! Between the crowd and the juicer machine, this place was annoyingly loud for a lunch spot. They brought some bread to go with my bowl of their crushed lentil soup, both of which were really good. My girl had the Greek salad which looked fantastic with beautiful bright produce. Service was a little disjointed at peak hours but I’d like to try their chicken shawarma sometime.

I measure by three different things in comparison to Taco Bell: DECOR: Grape Leaves is off Northwestern Highway in a plaza. Looking from the outside it doesn’t seem like a «nice» restaurant, but go on in and you’re welcomed with nice seating, appropriately painted walls, and a generally warm atmosphere that makes the nicest Taco Bells have a running for it’s money. For the décor one star. SERVICE: Generally, you are welcomed by the people at Grape Leaves. They are pretty friendly and mostly attentive. Every order I have gotten here has turned out correct so that’s big. Food also is prepared in a nice timely manner. Not too quickly and not too long. One star for service! FOOD: I tried many different Mediterranean restaurants in the area and Grape Leaves is one of the top ones in the Detroit area. Their appetizers are amazing with their chicken wings and cauliflower.(Definitely try the cauliflower it’s delicious.) Their Greek salad is my favourite salad ever with good quality ingredients. I get just regular steak kebabs, which is comparable to getting a good steak at a steakhouse. Very delicious, tender, and flavorful. The garlic dip here is the best I have had, so delicious so fresh. So garlic! The delicious good quality food gives this restaurant two stars. FINALVERDICT: Is Taco Bell better? Nope. Mediterranean is a wonderful cuisine that is very healthy and fresh. Sometimes you got to mix it up and give your stomach a break from all that Taco Bell fast food. Though somewhat pricey Grape Leaves makes up for it in it’s delicious good quality food. Skip the Taco Bell for now, your waistline will thank you tonight! Feast upon Grape Leaves!

Not bad, good food, but too pricy for the quantity. My kids didn’t eat much, it wasn’t bz at all. They included the tip in the bill. Which I didn’t find appropriate, their service and food wasn’t that great to give them that much tip. Every time I was done telling him what one person’s order, he was about to leave, than I started talking and he paused, we were the ONLY customers in that place, it’s not like he was serving somebody else, that he was in such a hurry. Kids meal, chicken finger was so bad, and dry my kids had a hard time chewing, clearly they took the frozen bag of finger and tossed in frier. I asked to spice up the chops, he put Cayenne powder on fried unflavored chops. deboned chicken isn’t bad. Soup was more like lentil chowder. The bread was delicious. family of six with 3 kids meal, 3 entrees and 1 appetizer including tips cost $ 118.

The best I can say about this place was meh. The food wasn’t bad. It wasn’t good either. It was just meh. The bread was good but that was about it. The garlic sauce was over garlic-ey and the meat was just meat. No spices. Nothing special. Even the rice was meh. And for $ 40 — at other Lebanese places in metro Detroit give you much more food. The place was clean. However, at 830 at night on a Friday it was dead — and I can see why. On top of that, I had to drive around for 20 minutes to find the place because the sign on the building was completely burnt out and it was dark out. Definitely file this one in the«never again» bin.

If you enjoy Mediterranean food, punch this into your GPS now. This place is great. Juices are fresh. I had the lamb and jalapeño skillet(servers recommendation, who was very nice by the way). Yum, not too spicy and very flavorful. Rice was well done and not a pile of mush like some places. The fresh pita is topped with sesame seeds. Delicious! Like I said, just eat here. You won’t be disappointed.
