Wayne State University Physician Group Surgery

My OB/​GYN from this group left the practice. I have not had an annual in over a year because of this. In January, I had concerns enough to call and make an appointment. I also have a specialist with WSPG that I see monthly. I wanted the OB/​GYN that was recommended by my former OB/​GYN because she works closely with the specialist. I could not get in for an appointment until Feb. 19, and I had to cancel due to my monthly cycle. When I called to reschedule and explain my concerns, I was told I could not get in for another month. I had to spell it out to her that I would, once again, have to reschedule if she made it around the same time. After dealing with scheduling THREE times and asking to speak directly to the office, which they would not allow, I made an appointment for April. On February 22, I drove to the office and explained why I needed to be seen sooner. They made an appointment for March 11. They do not keep a cancellation list, so I have called several times trying to be seen sooner. I called this past Thursday and complained to a nurse that they needed to have emergency appointments. She was completely unsympathetic. All this led to me landing in ER in the wee hours on Friday morning with an overnight stay and pages full of medications pumped through me. I am off work until Wed., and still need to keep the March 11 appointment as follow-​up. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED if WSPG had their act together and LISTENED to their patients. They NEED to allow for emergency appointments like most other doctors do. I am beyond upset that this has happened and plan on contacting the corporate headquarters.
