We went there last night and had the worst experience I’ve ever had in a bar or restaurant(and I worked in 10 plus places in college). We are in town for a family reunion(and have family who lives close nearby and assures us they will spread the word) and brought our crowd there and we were treated so disrespectfully by the bar manager, Gabe? and the female bartender. We were the only ones in the place and Gabe had a huge hissy fit because 2 people in our 25 people group walked over with plastic cups that they immediately disposed of once asked. That seemed to sour his mood, although it was truly no big deal. He acted as though we were teenagers trying to sneak in booze when in reality we were spending hundreds of dollars for our crowd and just were walking over from another venue. We all stayed and try to stick it out and hope they would soon be polite and kind, like the rest of Texas we have experienced but instead they proceeded to be so rude and disrespectful to every single person in our family that we decided we had to bring our business elsewhere. Clearly they just wanted us out so they could go home as they huffed and puffed at every drink order. It was plain bizarre and totally sad because we wanted to have a good experience and spend a lot of money but due to the uncalled for negative attitudes of the staff, we could not. I hope the owner re-evaluates his staffing choices and brings in some new people who better reflect such a beautiful friendly town!

I’ve been here a few times and each time has been EHhh. just OK. The southlake/keller area lacks good bars and nightlife, so Ginger Man doesn’t have much competition that’s why we come here. If we’re looking for a place to grab a few beers and socialize we pick this place over the new Drunken Donkey in Keller(since their service there is disappointing). I’m strictly a stout drinker and this Ginger Man has a very short list of stouts they offer(bummer). They have a «snack» menu which has things like chips, a couple of sandwiches and pretzels. All is pretty pricey so if you’re wanting to spend money on food I suggest eating somewhere else. Southlake townsquare has a lot of food options so anywhere else for food would be smart. I do like the ambience here. It’s dark and the staff here is nice. It gets pretty busy once it hits 10 pm so expect slower service and having to ask the staff for things more than once. We will continue to come here for the convenience of not having to drive 30+ minutes to fort worth or Dallas.

Good place to unwind. It was tucked right next to the Which Wich and there’s no big sign or anything so it can be easily missed. There’s an upstairs area, which can get crowded. Great selection of beers and if you’re hungry, they have a food menu as well.

I went into the ginger man on Sunday, February 21st around 2:30−3 pm. It was a little busier for a Sunday than I had anticipated but the atmosphere and patrons were great. Me and my friend had a few beers and a flatbread and a sandwich. They have a great selection of beers and I didn’t expect their pub food to be as good as it was. The server Lauren was great, very personable and friendly. My only complaint is the bartender that day. He didn’t seem to know a great deal about beer and you could tell he hasn’t been bar tending for long at all(spilling beer while he’s pouring and having the tap spout in the beer while he was pouring). But other than that it was a great bar with great beer!

Stopped in at the Ginger Man for a drink after dinner last week. I don’t think i’ve ever seen so many beer pulls on one wall! Of course, my boss and I ordered glasses of Prossecco, but it was fun to admire the different sorts of beers they offered. We sat up at the bar and visited with the bar tender and ordered chips to snack on(only disappointment was that these were just chips from a bag…) This bar is dark and only lit by the lights from behind the bar. It seems to be a good place for a late night drink and a chat with a friend. I’d go back again for just this. One of it’s super pluses though… a bar that is NONSMOKING hooray!

Something is off about this place. Love the Ginger Man in Austin but this Southlake location just has a weird vibe to me. Plus drink prices are very high. $ 6 for a domestic beer? No thank you. The service has been good and staff has been friendly every visit though.

Non-smoking, good beer selection. Can get very crowded downstairs easily making it hard to flag down wait staff. Menu is okay, nothing special. Easy parking.

I come here on Mondays for trivia night(Team Yaaaaaaaaaaaassss!) I always have a good time! I love the atmosphere, the food is really good(especially the spinach dip!!) and my waiter/waitress always helps me find a good beer I enjoy. My only hang ups are that it can be a little pricey, and I wish they had liquor, but that all comes with the territory of the Gingerman, and I’m ok with it. There are other places with cheap beer but don’t have the atmosphere of this place.

I have been to the ginger man on 3 seperate occasions. Thankfully the first 2 I only got beer and avoided a waitress who added 5 dollars onto my tab. The last time I went I paid for very overpriced food, and both my friend and I had our 2 dollars and change tips turned into 7 dollars and change tips. When I called the manager, she didn’t act like it was a big deal. Yeah, it got fixed but I’ve filed a report with my bank and credit card company and won’t be back again. I got nothing but a lackluster apology.

Well, let me just start by saying this. I was enjoying a late night cap here… and I joined in with a group playing uno. They all cheat. Never trust anyone playing uno at this establishment they will leave you upset and disappointed… thanks gingerman. Thanks a lot.

I’ve been there many times for the beer selection. My problem is the staff. Bar tenders both male and female Knowledgeable about most beers but no personality. I am 62 and ordered an appetizer after one beer. She never put in my order. I finished my second beer and inquired. She said she hadn’t but would do it now. No apology. Meanwhile she was down the bar talking to friends. Could be the Southlake attitude. Unfortunate, I guess the kids(employees) aren’t hungry and don’t GAS! Give a S__t.

Only had an appetizer and a delicious brew here but can’t wait to go back. Smaller than I thought it would be but the quaint atmosphere is part of the charm.

Had a good time. Lots of quality beers all over the spectrum. Good food too. The bartender had good recommendations as well. A five star experience for sure. Plenty of seating when I was there too. Wasn’t too crowded, but intentionally went at off peak hours. Had a good time.

The Ginger Man is a great place to come grab a beer and relax. They have an excellent selection of craft beer, which is what I’m into. They also carry special release beers. Back in February, they had the Deep Ellum Brewery Cherry Chocolate Double Brown Stout for a few weeks. Also, their cheese board and soft pretzel are my two favorite items on the menu! It’s the perfect place for beer drinkers to come and try what’s new, as well as have a favorite.

Loved this place! It’s environment and location. I very much enjoyed a blend they offered and recommend trying a combo you’ve never thought of, also some of the seats are worn down so be careful on where you choose to lounge.

A small quaint beer spot. A huge selection of tap beer. In an open strip shopping center Outside sitting is small picnic tables in-between businesses. Very small sitting area upstairs and downstairs Lots of regulars. A good place to meet and start off the night.

This place will bring you to the realization(especially on Fri/Sat nights) that DFW douche-baggery is not confined solely to Uptown. However, it’s a decent little iteration of the same quality beer you can expect from any Ginger Man. I like these places better when a house is converted. This place was built(strip mall) to be what it is so it lacks some of the character of the other locations.

Stopped in to celebrate a former bosses parole from the company. If you gotta go… go the way he did with a cool package and a full month off between jobs. Anyways, interesting little bar. Seems like ½ of it is outside in the alley, which has lots of seating. The bar is a short walk… if you don’t see any waitresses or waiters walking around(which I didn’t for the first 20 min there). Had a Shiner with the former boss. Reasonably priced. Parking can get tight, but you should be able to find a space. Cool little Northeast«city» like atmosphere with the apts/condos around the shopping center.

Have been to The Ginger Man in Dallas before but good first experience at the Southlake location. Wife and I had a few beers each plus the spinach and artichoke dip which was good! Bartender was very nice and Billy was our server who did an exceptional job — really friendly guy and fun to talk with!!! Only reason I take a star off is overall value. Have been to many, many, beer bars and the prices here are a bit steep — especially for some of the Belgian beers. Guess if you’re one of a kind you call the shots? Best place for beer selection in the burbs.

My husband and I were rather desperate for lunch as we had been out running errands all morning and, somewhat uncharacteristically when it comes to food endeavors, feeling adventurous. We walked into The Ginger Man not knowing what to expect – neither of us ever realized it was a pub and I always thought the wheat stalks that are on their sign were hands, leading me to believe it was, I don’t know, a trendy tapas place or something, don’t judge me – so we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and saw the veritable cornucopia of beers lined up behind the bar. Then I panicked a bit because I had no idea if they served food or not and I’m already a lightweight when it comes to alcohol so if I just have beer for lunch the husbee is going to be carrying me to the car… But we seated ourselves in the loft above the bar(so cosy!!) and, thankfully, found a menu of SERIOUSLYAMAZING sandwiches and bar snacks. We shared a soft pretzel, he had a French Dip(with cheddar) and I had a Chicken Cranberry Sauce sandwich, which I should mention is like little baby angels singing, Christmas morning good. Heavenly.(I also had salt & vinegar kettle chips because I’m a masochist and didn’t really need that skin on the roof of my mouth anyway.) The beer menu is a bit overwhelming at first if you want to try something new but the woman working the bar was seriously the nicest person ever and gave us excellent recommendations. The fellow who made our food was awesome and said something to the effect of «These are the best sandwiches I’ve ever made!» which I will totally believe because they were awesome. We’ll definitely be returning, hopefully with friends in tow because damn, this place is too awesome to keep a secret!
