We have two of ATMD tables. Each is a work of art and very well crafted. We live about 20 miles from ATMD and I asked the owner to stop by our house to evaluate the space for a new kitchen eat-​in table. We needed a large piece to accommodate the kids and grandkids.
We also wanted it to be made out of hickory as our home is surrounded by a hickory forest. Tom found some curly hickory and built a perfect table. He also designed in a lazy Susan for us to share serving dishes around the large table.
We also had a custom sideboard made from wormy maple that is exquisite. I couldn’t be happier with our unique and quality built tables.
ATMD employs local craftsmen and sources wood from the hardwoods of the mid Atlantic /​blue ridge region. When I gave Tom my ideas for materials he took me out to his barn to look at some potential rough cuts.
They do spectacular work at a fair price.

I can’t even remember how I found this place, but I’m so happy I did. We recently had a beautiful 86″ solid maple Irish Immigrant table made and delivered for less than the cost of a similar table from one of the well-​known «lifestyle» stores. Yes, that’s right – a handmade, solid wood (no veneers, no cheapo wood) table for LESS than the cost of one from Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, etc. And did I mention that it is gorgeous? And sturdy? As a mom of three boys, I wanted something that would last us forever, and it’s clear that we will have this table for life.
We made the short trip down from NoVA one weekend morning to visit their small showroom in Sperryville, which I recommend so that you can see the different styles in person. The young man working there was knowledgeable and friendly and provided a written quote and samples of different stains to take home with us. When I called to order the table, the woman I spoke with on the phone could not have been nicer. This really is a local, family-​owned business, and they are serious about quality and customer service. We opted to have the table delivered for $ 125 (though you can drive down and pick it up yourself and save the delivery cost). That cost includes delivery of the table into your home and placement in your dining room. When I was pricing similar tables from PB and C&B, delivery costs were twice as high and only included curb-​side delivery.
I really cannot recommend ATMD more highly. We have lots of old, well-​made furniture in our home that was passed down from our grandparents, and I am confident that we will pass down this table to our kids along with the rest of those old pieces.

The staff was extremely helpful and helped us place an order for a dining room table, chairs and a corner hutch. There are so many custom options to pick from… color/​stain, finishing style, sizes, materials, etc. We were definitely impressed!
We can’t wait to see the finished products! I’ll update my review then.

Yes, the sign will get your attention but they make quality tables out of hardwood, beautful oak all hand crafted.
An instant classic!

I was looking for a table that no one else has that is made from exotic and old wood. This is the place! It completed the look I was going for in my house; old fashioned, rugged, but eloquent. The owner and master craftsman has been building tables here since 1983. His sign has gotten a lot of attention from the news… kinda funny!
The quality here surpasses Restoration Hardware, Potter Barn etc hands down and each piece is completely unique and built to last past your lifetime and your grandchildren too.
My table was built without bolts or nuts, everything was hand planned, and put together with wooden pegs, etc. Old School. Hard wood only, all the way through. It was laquered to match the shade I wanted with a coat that doesn’t leave water marks (pretty awesome).
