Really great selection and the women who were there were so helpful and super friendly! They had each given me some freebies since they had gotten it from somewhere else(via donation and didn’t sell them) and showed me how to properly use one of the crimps I bought. Prices are clearly marked, all the colors and sizes you can want. I’ll be sure to return when I’m in town!

I guess it takes all kinds, but I am completely perplexed by some of these reviews. I got serious about seed beading a couple years ago and became a regular customer at the shop. I travel a great deal and make a point of checking out the bead shops where ever I visit. There are only two I have found that are of Beadaholique caliber in both inventory and service. Most of the staff has been there for several years and the owner is a treasure of information and technique. I have taken several classes there and almost always come away confident in a new skill. The shop is well organized and nicely lit — making it so much easier for color matching/coordinating. As I’ve become a «regular» there I’ve seen many of the same faces — demonstrating a large and loyal client base. Beadaholique is a great community for beaders whether you are just getting started or are published in national beading magazines.

Nice size store. They carry just about everything needed for different types of jewelry making. However I do have a couple problems… for one their gemstones are overpriced and there aren’t that many to begin with. I pretty much won’t buy them unless there is a sale, and with the sale they are about the price they should really be. Secondly, their customer service really needs improvement… there are a couple of women there who are friendly, but it seems every time I go the same employee is there and god forbid I ask her a question. Just not friendly or helpful at all. They do have a large variety of seed beads(I don’t seed bead though, so nothing for me there), and their findings are priced nicely. Nice selection of chain and czech glass as well. Overall it’s mostly the poor customer service and overpriced/poor selection of gemstones that irks me. My mom has had bad experiences with the owner as well… apparently she is a bit rude. Shocker there based on the majority of her employees. I would rather spend my money at Nova Beads in the Heights where there is an awesome selection of gemstones that are way cheaper and get way better customer service.

The sterling silver that sells for $ 3.75 a gram… Is not real! I bought sterling here and got it tested at a jewelry store, and I found out it was only silver plated metal! Do NOT buy any sterling silver from this store! $ 3.75 a gram is already a rip off– but selling silver plated metal at $ 3.75 a gram is highway robbery! The beads are wayyyyyy over priced.

Much like melanie y., I too was not impressed. Yes there is quite a selection of beads. Yes they have supplies. No they haven’t a clue about customer service. My son and I entered the location as I was trying to teach him more about beading and what he and other scouts would be doing this upcoming year as a project. First of all we were treated like abnormalities just being male and being in the shop. Second, I do my homework and knew what I was talking about and know prices and I think I stumped whichever person it was that tried to help me because I was not the ‘stupid’ male shopper she was expecting. She was dumbfounded when I told her I could get a hank of beads(many times more than her tube of beads) of the same kind for less than she was asking. Fortunately for her my son was next to me so I didn’t tell her what she could do with her level of knowledge. The biggest turnoff came when I believe who must have been the owner implied we were not«sophisticated enough» to be in her store like her regular ladies. Honestly, even though this is one of the few close places to buy beads… I’m not willing to get demeaned or raked over the coals in price to shop here. My daughter and mother-in-law take a yoga class in the strip center and the Orange Leaf Yogurt shop will get whatever dollars I’m willing to let go of. Once Whataburger leaves the corner the owner should have plenty of parking for her sophisticated clientele.

this is a review i had in mind to do from awhile back about my experience here… if I could give this establishment a 2.5, that’s what it’d be, 3 stars just looks too good, so i gave it a 2. pluses: they carry alot of very high quality gemstones/minerals. they also have a VERY wide selection of czech crystals which are hard to find well stocked in most bead stores. they also have a decent wall of seed beads. cons: their prices are marked up quite a lot. be prepared to spend at least $ 30+ for a single project. classes: i really like how they have this class bulletin board with VERY beautiful pieces tacked on it. looking at the class wall makes me feel inspired, the artists there are wonderful. customer service: not so great. i pretty much just look like a high school kid, so they really treat me like one. i’m a bit disappointed that it seems i have to sport a lacoste bag, prada sunglasses and true religion jeans to get attention here. one big turn off: i think it was a light sales pitch attempt set up by the actual owner, she tried to convince me that a strand of plastic pearls misplaced with no label were south sea shell pearls. her attitude towards me was almost argumentative when i told her they weren’t shell pearls, and that it was a misplaced strand of 4 mm plastic pearls. i mean wtheck, you could see the cheap painted cracked holes on those strands, and could tell from the weight of the strands that they were NOT«south sea shell» pearls. that was like trying to convince to me the sky is green. i asked her the price, and she told me $ 2.99 and went about her business. i’m NOT sorry that i know what i’m buying. whenever i went to check out, the lady at the counter didn’t see a label on it, i told her that the owner told me the strand was $ 2.99. the owner shouted from across the room(she was eavesdropping i suppose) and shouted«GIVEITTOTHEMFOR $ 3.99, i said $ 3.99». AND that woman had the nerve to repeat it twice. i’m in no rush for altercations inside someone else’s business, so i just paid for my things and left. i won’t be going back, EVER. i’ve been in this establishment once or twice before, but i’ve ALWAYS been disappointed with poor customer-service attitude. the only plus i suppose is their large inventory, but if you want to pay for someone who operates business like this, uhm, no thanks. i like people with more honesty. its a shame for such a beautiful store to be tainted with such an awful presence.

This bead shop has the best selection of top quality merchandise available anywhere in the Houston area. Every color of delica bead available is stocked here and the selection of Swarovski crystals and gemstones is amazing. I can spend hours here!
