Oriental Garden Chinese

I’ve been eating here for 17 years consistently and it is hands down the best Chinese food in Houston. I know that’s saying a lot, but it’s true, just try it. They have Chinese dishes that you simply can’t find anywhere else and food is always freshly made. Great soups, egg rolls, etc… They have a ton of repeat business, so I know others know what I know on this one. Just give the place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Was recommended by my brother to try this place out. Wow, I actually was impressed with the service and food here. Though it felt a little old in the interior, service and food quality is the most important thing to us!

I have never had anything bad at this place. I have eaten here. Picked up. And delivered. And everything has always tasted amazing and delicious! No complaints!
The shredded pork in garlic sauce is auhmazballs and the lo mein is on point

This is a good Chinese restaurant in Spring. Their food is fresh, which I very much appreciate since the food at a lot of Chinese Restaurants seems like it’s been sitting around all day (or week). We had fried rice-​good, cashew chicken — good and beef with broccoli — also very good. If you’re in the mood for Chinese. This is a good bet.

Food was good. Prices are good. Lunch special 7 days a week.
I ordered e general tso’s chicken. It was tasty, but it wasn’t spicy at all, even though it had that little pepper symbol next to it on the menu. I would recommend asking them to make it spicy if that’s what you like.
The egg drop soup was tasty as well!

Very good place to go for lunch. Good prices on lunch menu. Good ownership. Lemon chicken is good. Upgrade to chicken fried rice.

I called in a order for two with specific meals and beverages. A man walks into my workplace for a drink, we start a great conversation concerning menu items. I cannot get off work until a later time and would love to suprise a friend. This new patron at my bar asks me about local eats…, «If i have anyone from out of town or a special occasion, always go to Oriental Garden.“Im finally off work driving my friend, excited about dinner and time with this special person. The man then smiles and casually replies with,“I have seen 30 sum odd restaurants in East Coast Cusine, now i am at Oriental Garden.» We walk into the restaurant to find a complete order steaming, at exact seating requested, and icy drinks gleaming, PSHT! SEAMLESS SUPERIOR SERVICE… I was stunned to serve the brains behind the taste of years of experience and have eaten there the night before. We both had smug smiles over farewells.
Prepare and call ahead… OR not they have good food.

We ordered orientalist garden soup, sizzling triple delights and chow mein noodles. Nothing special. The worst part was asking the waitress what the food title meant or what comes with it, she was saying m: «you know, it’s vegetables and meat on top of fried noodles, you know like the regular chow mein» and I was just thinking, some meat and veggies in top of some carb is basically everything, but ok… So we just stayed happy as its a Friday night date and we kept the love rainbow in the air.
Food is pretty blah, usual salty and brown looking oily Chinese food. I was hungry coming in, got rushed for a little since they were closing. Or maybe we thought we wanted to talk after finished eating as a nice date, but mood is gone when the lady coming by every 3 minutes «you done?».
Over all, I will not come back.

Love the food! The wontons are crispy! The vegetable dumplings are the best! Great fried rice and soups! Best delivery! Kids love their fish tanks!

This place has been around forever and that speaks for itself. The staff is super friendly and attentive.

The food here is ok as is the service. There is nothing special or mind blowing about either that makes me want to come to this place when I am craving Chinese. I think that if servers paid more attention I would like this place a little more. However they are always slow. By the time that they take our drink orders we have had enough time to decide what appetizers and main courses we want. This is just an ok resturant.

Place closed early and left us wet, it was raining. Thankfully Chinese Restaurant right across is open and delicious. Writing from here.

Have been coming here for years and they never disappoint! Their food is always hot and fresh, and plenty of it. Every time we are here the place is very busy. We have tried over 30 places in the last 30 years and this is in the top 5. Enjoy!

Amazing and quick service! Great food ordered through eat24 without any trouble. Delivered in the rain on a late Friday evening for guests who arrived unexpectedly. Thumbs-​up.

10÷1÷2014 I want to first and foremost apologize for this unbelievable event. I am surprised I haven’t heard about this from my staff because I would have contacted you concerning this matter. I don’t agree with your comment though you feel management doesn’t seem to care at all. I’m sorry but you cannot speak of the level of careness an establishment has because of a bug. We pride ourselves in taking care of our customers nomatter the cost. Exterminations are a very high priority here because these days you don’t know what deliveries may bring. Well, Ben, I was the primary customer with 3 witnesses who saw the roach in the dumpling, first hand. The entire meal was free, yet I still tipped your courteous waiter a $ 10 bill!

coupon brought me to this restaurant a few weeks back. The décor was above casual. My family thought that we were served generous portions of our dishes with good quality ingredients. Our server was attentive and we had a very pleasant family dining experience. I wish this restaurant was closer to my house as I probably would order takeout or delivery at least 3 or 4 times a month. It was good quality Chinese food at a good price. What more can you ask?

Don’t understand the person who answer the phone, this place has the worst customer service ever.

What a real shame it is to right this poor review because we have eaten here for the past 20 years and enjoyed it. I’m sorry to say that this place has a serious roach infestation problem as of now and management doesn’t seem to care at all. We found a roach cooked inside one of our pork fried dumplings. We won’t be back :/

The food was very good. The portions were excellent on the dinner for four. The ribs fell off the bones and were so tender. They also had great flavor. Alan was our waiter and was great. Our drinks never went below half empty. He checked back on us several times to make sure we were doing ok. We have tons of leftovers for lunch for tomorrow.
The only thing that I can say I found odd is the lady that sat us down did not like that we wanted to sit at a table for six when we were only a family of four. When we asked to sit there she said «no» we asked again she says «oh, okay». Odd but whatever.
Overall my family had great food, great service. We will be back.

We called in a to-​go order for the family dinner special for six people. So that’s 3 family dinners since their menu says one (1) family dinner feeds 2 people minimum. When we picked up the order the Hispanic lady charged us almost $ 80. She gave us white rice instead of fried, we didn’t get any of the ribs, or any of the soups. When we called back to let her know this she insisted that we didn’t order them and if we wanted them we would have to pay AND pick it up! Oh, she accused us of loosing the receipt when I was never given my copy of it after signing the merchant copy.
Absolutely horrible service!!! Not worth the price or the headache the lady at the desk caused me and my family.
