I spent about 3 years here, and I don’t have any complaints that aren’t really about apartment life in general. My unit made good use of limited space, but was a bit short on storage for my taste. The buildings are a bit over 10 years old, and everything is in like-new condition. Maintenance was incredible. They were almost always out the next business day for even the most minor of issues, and they were out in less than an hour when my heater stopped working(luckily, it was just a loose connection on the thermostat that they had fixed in 10 minutes). I specifically requested a unit without upgrades to save money, so I had really basic appliances, but everything is included — even the washer and dryer — and they all got the job done. Parking was not usually a problem, and as long as you don’t expect to park immediately in front of your front door every day, you won’t get frustrated. I never had to go too far. The grounds are kept clean and groomed, and most residents are good about using the pet waste bags or taking their dogs to the woods. Noise was only a problem around the pool area, and only in the summer(obviously) when people start to think that the pool’s close time doesn’t apply to them. The office was good about stomping on the offending residents with fines, etc, so it wasn’t a constant problem. I was on the top floor, so noise from other residents was never a problem. I never once heard the neighbors next to me or below me. I don’t know if they people below me could hear my walking around or anything like that, though. Speaking of the office, the staff is really great. They’re very easy to work with and always available to answer questions. They made life a lot easier. Quality of residents fluctuated, and was dropping when I left, mainly due to an influx of frat-boy types. History suggests they’ll either grow up or get evicted in six months, so things will probably go back to normal. Most residents are a mix of retirees, single professionals(the complex partners with a corporate housing firm), newlyweds, and young families with small children. Water was cheap, electricity less so(you’re in the Entergy zone, so you can’t pick your REP) but not obnoxiously high, and you can choose AT&T uVerse, Comcast/Ygnition, or DirectTV for cable and internet, so things are good there. If you have to live in an apartment, The Park is a great choice.
