It may not look like much, but its a hidden hobby gem. If you need an expert, this guy is it. The shop may seem messy or cluttered, but this isn’t your run of the mill out of the box hobby shop. I have been doing business with Spring Crossing for years and will continue to go there. The proprietor, Race, is very knowledgable and will not oversell. He will order anything you need if he doesn’t have it. I personally have never had to wait more than two weeks for any order. He has everything you can imagine for model trains. He helped layout a custom train set for a large exhibit built out at NASA space center. While in the store when customers came in with old trains or even race car sets he calmly and casually explained how to restore or even rebuild old kits to like new condition all the while pretty much doing the work for the customer right there. He gives out the history of the model and the company that built it, the nostalgia that both he and the customer share in that moment is awesome. He doesn’t try to sell them overpriced hobby merchandise, he gives them simple instructions as well as complex then sends them out to the local hardware store to get exactly what they need. On a side note, he is pretty much cash or check with ID I believe, no credit cards that would be my only drawback. I’ll be going back here for my hobby needs.
