Chuys is your run of the mill Tex-Mex place, located in the new Springfield Towne Center. The hostess and our waitress were both very friendly. Our waitress was awesome dealing with our party that consisted of 4 children. She got all our orders right and was very attentive and accommodating. That was probably the highlight of our dining experience here. While the food wasn’t bad or anything like that it really wasn’t anything special either and I found the salsa and pico de gallo a little too spicy. The food was a little pricey for the portions, but that was to be expected in the new Towne Center. But all in all it wasn’t a bad meal and the service was good.

Newly located at the Springfield mall, I was pleasantly surprised. Service was great, food was on par, and environment was appealing. This would usually only be a four star rating for me, however the value for what you get was astounding. More food than me and my lady could handle for less than 25 $.

Best Mexican food in the area. Been there twice, love the combo choices. Atmosphere was warm but busy. Food came at a reasonable time and the chips and salsa was amazing. Would go back again

This is as good as it gets in VA… I am a native Texan, and out of all the places I have tried… and I’ve tried a lot – This place is the best. It’s not the authentic beef enchilada sauce that comes with a cheese enchilada dinner, but it is very good. My husband likes spicy stuff and got the chicken enchilada dinner with the spicy sauce and loved it. I agree with another post that the food isn’t fancy, but honestly… Tex Mex isn’t fancy food – it’s just good, and they got it right. Gabby was our server and was FANTASTIC! She was very attentive and we didn’t have to ask for anything. She brought us a plate of all the different sauces to try, which is a free service they do and it really orients you to the different flavors you can choose and the margaritas on the rocks do not disappoint. Try this place… you’ll like it!

I’m definitely a Chuy’s fan. Great addition to Springfield Town Center. The food isn’t fancy but it’s hearty and very tasty. The staff is always very attentive and last night it was a nice touch for someone from the kitchen to come putt and check everything was ok when we had to send a plate back. One of my favorite things at Chuy’s is the Happy Hour nacho car. Located in the bar, there’s the backend of an old car filled with nachos toppings and chips — all gratis. While the waitstaff will bring you baskets of chips and bowls of salsa and the fantastic creamy jalapeño dip, from 4 – 7 you can visit the nacho car and get taco meat, refried beans, green chili salsa, nacho cheese, etc to have with your chips. One thing to note about Chuy’s, it’s probably the only tex-mex place I’ve ever been where you can’t get pork. Nope no little piggies to be had here. Most dishes are available with beef or chicken, but there are a few seafood and vegetarian options too.

The complementary chips and salsa with the cucumber sauce is to die for. I got the fried shrimp tacos with mexican rice instead of the green chili rice. I love it! The refried beans are normal. Good texture though. They even have dr. Pepper! Lol. My boyfriend got the steak enchiladas. Everything on his plate is gone so he must really like them! The service was awesome as well! Our server was quick and efficient. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and helped my boyfriend pick out the right sauce for his food. My only displeasure with this place is the weird, and unfitting décor and music for what kind of food they serve. Also no draught beers. over all though it was awesome and i will be back!

Chuy’s is our normal Mexican food place. With the exception of one experience, we have always enjoyed our meals there with excellent staff that always has time to answer all of the annoying ‘what’s the best?’ Questions. I have to say, seems the staff here truly enjoys the food, as they all the perfect suggestion for what you’re craving. Tonight was different because of our waiter, Chris! His attentiveness was unlike all other servers. The restaurant wasn’t slow, but it felt like we were the only table. Service was top notch, food and drinks always available and fast. He was amazing and made our meal so much better than usual. Thank you!

Rounding up to 4, because it’s inexpensive and good. SOMUCHFOOD. Which was a good thing, as we came hungry here. The meats in everything were super fresh and of great quality, but none of them seemed to be seasoned at all. They seem to rely on their sauces to impart all the flavor, which isn’t such a bad thing as they do have some quite tasty sauces. I wish I could review their monster-sized margaritas, but alas it was lunchtime and I didn’t want to get sloshed too early in the day, lol. The chips & salsa were tasty, nice and spicy too. The guacamole had much the same theme as the meats, where it was super fresh, but lacking much flavor to it. Again, it’s not gonna knock your socks off, but for the price it’s good stuff. Their t-shirts are funny, too ;)

Let me big in with the best part: the ladies greeting were wonderful and Justin the waiter was too. In terms of service — just enough, not too much and not too little. Interesting dining room. Tables and chairs straight out of the 1960’s. I really liked the tortilla makers on display but didn’t eat their goods. Chips were the really thin kind. I liked them. Good flavor and just enough salt. Salsa was spicy and fresh. The jalapeño cream sauce… Not too sure about that. Reminded me of chile flavored ranch dressing. But I kept going back to try it. Maybe I really liked it even though the very concept was a bit off-putting. Cheese filled replenish was dinner. I really liked them. The chile was«al dente» and crispy fried. Usually the are soggy but not these. Great flavor and bright green appearance. The Hatch chile sauce I selected. Didn’t enjoy. Good flavor but too much chile skin in it. Not cleaned properly after roasting and that really diminished the experience. I have two pet peeves and let me entertain you with one of them. I detest eating with cheap stamped silverware. It doesn’t feel good in the hand or the mouth. And it tends to get yucky build-up no matter how well they’re sanitized. Unfortunately I ate with that kind of silverware tonight. UPDATE: Celebrated Chuy’s 1 year anniversary. What fun! Good service and food. Plus one star!!!

The place is a typical chain and the food lacks flavor. Pretty much everything is what you would expect out of a chain Mexican restaurant. The service is ok depending on when you dine in. The salsa is at least spicy and not watered down muck like most places . I have not had a bad experience with the staff yet so hats off to them . If you need a beer and some salsa this is your place.

Been here several times. Never sat in the dining area but always at the bar. YES again at the bar. ALWAYS the bar! :) Never had a bad experience while there. The bartenders always started us out with chips and salsa and would always put out twp to three salsa’s for us to try. YUM! You can never go wrong with their margarita’s. They always have different flavors. Food has always been good. Typical tex mex flair. Their burritos are ginormous! My favorite is the grilled shrimp baja tacos. I always ask for extra jalapeño cream salsa. So good!

In the mood for some traditional Mexican comfort food without the white linens, we decided to give Chuy’s a try. My expectations were food chain moderate. I didn’t expect anything more than I would get at other Tex-Mex spots like Chevys and On the Border. The SCENE: We walked into a 1950s family friendly diner. The eclectic décor included wooden fish hanging from the ceiling, retro brightly colored glittery chairs, and portraits of prominent Mexican figures(politicians, singers, artists, etc.) lining the walls who contributed to advancing the country in some way. The FOOD: We ordered chicken/shrimp fajitas and Baja tacos(grilled fish). We snacked on the fresh chips and salsa fresca while waiting, but the wait was short. The food was served hot and was full of flavor. The fajitas were marinated in their«special» herbs & spices and I was surprised to find the grilled fish tender and moist; not overcooked which is what I normally encounter with fish tacos. Chuy’s was also generous with portion sizes and the hand rolled tortillas. AfterIt was apparent that our entrees were made in a scratch kitchen. I enjoyed my first visit. Chuy’s made us feel welcomed AND the reasonably priced food was good. I peeped some meatless options and drinks I’m planning to try in the near future.

My husband and I went to Chuy’s on 7÷18÷15 for dinner. I suggested the Springfield Mall because it was there restaurant week(where Chuy’s was advertised as participating but I did not recieve any type of menu with their specials or an explanation of what was available). I am not sure if the crowds were as a result of restaurant week or that the Springfield Mall has just become that popular. Our wait was about 20 minutes so we walked over to the mall for about 15 minutes. I was shocked when I asked the hostess when we returned about when we could expect to be called and she said we were already called.(I checked my watch while we were walking around the mall to make sure that we got back before 20 the minutes.) The hostess did a great job of putting us back on the list and our wait was only 10 minutes. This is a slightly hard review for me to write because I feel like our experience once we sat down was a 2.5. The food was good. I had the stuffed peppers which I had never tried in tex mex style. I don’t think I would get it again but was glad I tried it. The atmosphere thou loud was fun and relaxing. Our server(believe her name was Eve) was meh. She seemed very nice and I am not sure if our lack of attention might have been her trying to deal with the crowds(when we left I heard the wait had gone from 20 to 40 minutes) but I expected to be checked in on more than we were. In a nutshell, even thou the service was just okay I would go back(but I would choose not to go back there on a Saturday evening) to possibly recieve better service.

Chuy’s is a chain Mexican restaurant. This restaurant is located in the new Springfield Towne Center, which re-opened last year. There are still empty shops and restaurant spaces there, but many chain restaurants have already opened. Chuy’s is a large. The inside has several rooms full of tables and diners, a indoor and outdoor bar, and outdoor seating. The menu is classical American Mexican– burritos, tacos, quesadillas, etc. We got chips and salsa upon arrival. They were not that great. We found a chip with glue or something on it(weird!), and the waiter replaced it with a new basket. I ordered tacos, and they came out quickly. It came with re-fried beans, Mexican rice, lettuce, and chopped tomatoes. The rice, lettuce, and tomatoes were plain, and the beans were salty. I don’t think I’d come back here, because the quality of the food is not great.

I’m so glad Chuy’s has come to VA!!! I came here for a Unilocal event and it was so much fun! The manager was really great about telling us how the restaurant was founded and how they make everything fresh. We had someone in our group who was very allergic to cilantro and he made sure to tell her which things she could eat, and even made some substitutions for her. What we were served; Chuy’s Vice — a HUGE frozen piña colada with tequila and rum, topped with frozen strawberry margarita. Chips and all the sauces — chips are always fresh and hot, my favorite sauce is the creamy jalapeño. Tortilla soup — so much flavor, OMG Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken — topped with potato chips and cheese, so yummy! I liked that it wasn’t too spicy. Served with rice and beans. Tres Leches cake — perfection, seriously.

I was here during the Unilocal’s Progressive Brunch. We were greeted with a glass of frozen piña colada made with 1800 coconut tequila and topped with strawberry purée. It was so good that I drank it so quickly. Next was the tortilla soup with chicken. It was also very good and tasty. The waitress was bringing out different dipping sauces throughout the course. There were about seven different kinds with their uniqueness. After that was the entrée, fried chicken with lays chips breading. I thought it was definitely crispy on the outside, but the meat was a little bland and dry. Finally, we had the tres leches for dessert. It was soooo delicious and sweet. I gotta say that this place has seemed to improve since the last time I went when it was first opened. We were told that they don’t use salt in their food except for the chips and guacamole. Everything is made fresh at the restaurant, no outsource or packaged products. I’d definitely come back to try more items. ** This review was based on a Unilocal Elite event that I went to.

I’m going to start this review with something you would typically end with in a restaurant… Their dessert! You have to and I mean you HAVE to order their tres de leche cake. It is just to die for. I seriously believe I could eat that for dessert for the rest of my life and be satisfied. I do have to mention that I loved this dessert because of the mushy texture from the cake being soaked in condensed milk. However, some people at my table stated they disliked the cake due to the mushy texture.(So there seems to be a strong preference based opinion about this cake) But based on my opinion, it is so delicious that you would not regret ordering it. It was sweet enough but not too overly sweet where you feel like you need a glass of milk. The sauce drenched in the cake was so sweet and seriously mind blowing. As far as their food goes, it is clearly not authentic Mexican style food. It’s very much Americanized Mexican food. If you got anything from this review it is to order their tres de leche cake.

Came to check this place out on a weekday. No wait and plenty of tables open around 615. I was really excited when I was told about the free salsa and queso«car» but the queso tasted like movie theater nacho cheese… total buzzkill. But I guess that’s what you get when you get it for free, right? I’m hoping this queso is different than the queso you can order and pay for but I was so offended by the nacho cheese taste that I didn’t ask. Anyways, I ended up ordering the Baja tacos after the server recommended them and they were okay. I ordered one shrimp and one fish and I think I was just expecting more based on the reviews on Unilocal. My boyfriend ordered the steak burrito and liked his meal. We also ordered a margarita on the rocks and a glass of sangria. Nothing to rave about(but wasn’t bad– just was). Overall, I’d say it’s your typical chain restaurant. I wouldn’t say it’s great but I wouldn’t say it’s bad, either. Personally prefer El Paso down the street.

**3.5 Stars** Ive been to Chuy’s twice with coworkers since it opened at Springfield Mall. The happy hour nacho bar was a the big draw for us the first time we went and it did not disappoint. I am also picky about salsa… it has to be freshly made not from a can… and I give theirs two thumbs up. The service was great both times Ive been here. I ordered the fried avacado my first visit which sounded much more interesting than it tasted. The second time, I ordered quesadillas, combination chicken and steak, that surprisingly exceeded my expectations. I also had a skinny margarita which my server explained is made with artificial sweetener rather than simple syrup. I was really torn on whether to give this place 3 stars or 4 but decided on the latter because even though this is standard chain restaurant tex-mex, my coworkers and I have only had good experiences here.

«Fine,» is the word that sums up my entire Chuy’s experience. Chuy’s location in the«new» Springfield Town Center aka Springfield Mall. It was a beautiful Sunday morning and we started our day dining al fresco at Chuy’s. The«patio» [read concrete sidewalk with metal fencing] was appropriately shaded on this 90 degree day. The seats were comfortable and we were seated very quickly by a friendly and smiling hostess. Our server was friendly and adequately attentive — we did have to request napkins but she apologized and returned with them immediately. We started with chips and queso dip which were delivered as expected. I do like Chuy’s chips a lot, they are flaky, light and thinner than usual — thinner in a good way. The queso was delicious, a bit spicier than I prefer but that’s me, not them. The top shelf margarita was delicious. Chuy’s honored my son’s special quesadilla order request(he wanted steak quesadillas which are not on the menu) and I had the tacos. Both were cooked well. In fact, the food, service, food, price and ambiance at Chuy’s are all fine — nothing exemplary but good nonetheless.
