Dining is mostly about the food, and what I had was excellent, but the bartenders… OMG. I have never seen a more incompetent crew, devoid of any sensitivity or even just basic manners and friendliness. This is a hotel bar, and the business enjoys a captive audience and clearly has no interest in cultivating any sort of bedside manner in their staff, fearing no consequence, as the Hilton guarantees a steady flow of clientele. Do not come here expecting a positive bar experience or even a modicum of manners from the staff. Let go any expectation you may have of an attentive bartender, or small talk. Be prepared to fetch your own utensils, reach over the bar for a napkin, flag someone down for a refill, and have even the smallest request, such as extra napkins, to be met with begrudging and silent fulfillment with an undertone of anger.

Went there tonight to pick up a to go order. I’m tired from working all day and then driving to the next location and hotel. All I want is my dinner done right. I order the ahi tuna app and shrooms. I get back to my hotel and find that I don’t have what I ordered. I have to get back in the car, head back over there. They take their tqime correcting the order. Then offer me a free dessert. Great right? No, I waited another 15 minutes before I walk out without the free dessert. Drive back to my hotel, now my Shrooms are cold, I eat them anyway because I am starving. I then move on to the ahi appy only to find that the 2 sauces they come with were not included. Just a plate of raw fish. So I get BACK in the car, drive BACK for the 3rd time. REFUNDPLEASE! Night ruined, I’m tired and hungry and I have this place to thank for it. I won’t be dining at this Houlihan’s or any other for that matter. 1 star only because you have to give it that

My husband, son and I went to Houlihan’s for Easter brunch. We had a reservation, but we really didn’t need one because there were a lot of empty seats. We were seated quickly which was nice and someone came quickly to take our drink orders. My husband and son ordered coffee and I ordered an iced tea. We then headed up to the buffet. The first plate my husband grabbed was dirty. The food itself was decent, though the ham was cold, even though it was under a warmer. There was a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items as well as desserts. When we arrived back at our table our drinks had arrived. The coffee tasted fine, though it was full of grounds. Our server regularly came to take away dirty plates, but never bothered to check in on giving us refills on the coffee or iced tea. My husband finally put his mug on the edge of the table with all the grounds obviously showing and she did bring him fresh cup which also ended up full of grounds. I also picked up another dirty plate the next time I went up to the buffet. The cost for three buffets, two coffees and one iced tea was $ 94. We will not be returning to Houlihan’s.

We often for happy hour. An older crowd, older music, but the the food is awesome. The Thai chicken wings and stuffed mushrooms are to die for. All the food is really good for munchimg. Drinks are good too. Great bartenders, Sidney and Jocelyn are my favorites! This Holton hotel is a great place also. My in-laws stayed here for a family function and loved the place.

Food and service were great, really reasonable prices for a hotel restaurant. Potstickers were authentic, and I didn’t have issues with service like the other reviewers noted.

I had lunch with a group from work. Since there were about fifteen of us, and the business was picking up the bill, we didn’t hold back. We shared several appetizers including mushrooms, shrimp, calamari, and nachos. The mushrooms were really good. I had shrimp and grits which I really enjoyed. Several others had the hamburger special; it was extremely tall and could not fit in one’s mouth. Beside the hamburger, it included bacon and pulled pork. We also shared several of the deserts. The crème brûlée, apple pie, brownie, caramel nut pie, and cake were very good. I enjoyed the meal here and would return.

Busy happy hour goes from 4 to 9! Also Tuesdays are ½ price bottles of wine(less than $ 50). Haven’t been 8n a long time and ordered a few appetizers including wings, lettuce wraps, and Chard Ahi Tuna. All were great and filling. Pretty crowded at bar so service at first was sketchy but they ultimately made up for it. It’s located at the Hilton Hotel.

I wandered downstairs to eat after my flight(and with some hesitation after reading Unilocal reviews). Caught the Happy Hour and tried the calamari and lettuce chicken appetizers. Both were good. I almost gave them 4 stars but the service was pretty slow.

Why/How is this place still open? Yuck. I love the houlihans in crofton, this one… not so much. The fries were gross, my fish tacos were gross, and the mashed potatoes taste like flavorless dust.

Went here the other night for a few drinks with some girlfriends and we were continuously interrupted and our conversation intruded upon by the manager. Several times during the 2 hours we were there she attempted to insert herself into our conversation which I found to be incredibly rude. The drinks were good and the appetizers tasty(we had Asian wings, calamari and some Parmesan fries) but we wrapped it up earlier than we normally would have because of the interruptions. Probably won’t do a Friday night here again because of this.

The service sucks at this place! This alone spoiled my entire dining experience even though the French Onion Soup was very good(and cheap), and the happy hour deals were quite decent. I got the soup and wings. I then got the Chicken Parmesian. It was dry. I asked for some marina sauce and parmesian cheese to sprinkle on my dish. Most restaurants automatically offer the cheese. My waitress tacked on $ 2 for the sauce and a dollar for what equated to a tablespoon of cheese. The extra charges were trivial, but its the principle of the matter. She never told me these would cost extra, and I just spent $ 30 on my meal only to get«nickeled and dimed». It’s so stupid to treat your customers like this, since I just take the overcharges out of her tip. Besides, she also never once refilled my water glass even though I was sitting at the bar. I wanted dessert, but didn’t bother since the waitress made me feel like I was inconveniencing her everytime I asked for anything.

I was here for happy hour. No happy hour menu. The happy hour menu was verbal. So you really had to pay attention. That really bothered me. The waitress was ok, I believe her name was Joslin. She was not very attentive and friendly, but was quick to call my friend out on some comment she made. Not cool. Other than that, the atmosphere was very nice, the manager was super chill and friendly, and the food was good.

Had to send back my wife’s dinner; poor quality seafood, cook or chef doesn’t know how to cook scallops. Service is lacking. Sounds like staff is to busy talking in the back instead of tending to customers. I’ve had a burger here before and I think that is all they are good for. I think the Hilton hotel is better off having a McDonalds as the next door restaurant instead of this restaurant.

I went there for a birthday dinner. If you sign up on their web site, they will give you $ 15 off entrée coupon before your birthday. Most entrees are more than $ 15 by the way. Appetizers are around $ 10 and entrees are around $ 15 – 30. If you order appetizers with your entrée, they become a little bit cheaper. When you check in on Unilocal, you’ll receive a free dessert. Their apple pie with ice cream is fabulous! Warm apple pie and crunch cinnamon crumb and simply tasty vanilla ice cream. Oh, they have Happy Hour. Also wine flight. 3(1oz) for $ 11. You should order by glass or bottle. Wine is ½ price on Tue. Staff: A waiter was really friendly and nice. I forgot to ask his name. Taste: Fried shrimps have a kind of chemical flavor. Maybe not natural but farm ones. Aged beef steak is good for the price. Apple pie is pretty good! Atmosphere: A little bit dark. The building is old. So not fantastic but clean. Bar area is crowded with tourists. Price: Pretty good. Not too cheap but not too pricy for a restaurant in a Hilton hotel. Parking lot: Lots of free spots in front of the restaurant.

The service is always mediocre here… but, I’ve given the place a chance a few times anyway. I’ve had a few things here, and all of the items were pretty much okay, except for the stuffed chicken breast and fish tacos – these two dishes were AMAZING! From now on, these are the only two entrees I will order. If everything I ever had tasted like these two things, I would eat here quite often!

Holy ish. This was just sad. Everybody who works here is just hating their life so hard that they are doing their best to be completely disengaged from everyone, including customers. Worst service everrrrr.

Our one complaint is that it was SUPER steamy in the porch area. Which ended up being mid-90s…so can’t really hold that against them as they can’t do much about the weather ;) Will be back next time.

I should’ve listened to the Unilocalers. Service here is miserable. After a long week of traveling I am staying at the Hilton. I’ve been to Houlihans before and always had a decent experience. The front desk at arrival gave me a $ 15 off coupon for food. Tired and hungry I ventured in and found a seat at the bar. It took 10 minutes to get noticed. Beer poured quick as I was in front of the tap. Water I had to ask for 3 times. Ordered wings which came Luke warm after waiting 20 minutes. Now I am waiting on a side Caesar salad that has been 10 minutes. Food at least saved a star and the fact that you can’t give 0 stars.

This is actually a surprisingly good hotel restaurant. The pros: 1. The prices are actually very reasonable for Washington DC 2. The food is actually surprisingly very good. I had the scallops and wings and they were actually some of the better scallops and wings in my life. 3. The staff is super friendly and try really hard… The cons: The reason why this place gets 3 stars is because the service is blah. Not any body’s fault because they all work their butt off, but there just seems to be poor workforce management in that there is not enough people out at the bar actually serving. The fact that the bar tender disappears to help with the kitchen is shocking. They work hard enough to make it work, but still lack of manpower issues abound…
