This place was grear, UNFORTUNATELY, I stopped here on 10÷15÷14 and 4 cops were there shutting them down for operating without a license. When I asked the cop if they would be back open soon his reply was«I hope not». So, I think they are gone for good, at least at this location.

It is nice to have a Mexican food truck in the area which makes for a quick in and out, grab and go lunch on the run. This was my first stop at this tiny eatery, I ordered(1) Al Pastor and(1) Lengua taco, the bill came to $ 3 incl. tax which by any standard of measure is a very thrifty lunch. While it was more than acceptable, I gauge all Mexican fast food by the trucks at Longwharf in New Haven, in particular the Ixtapa truck located there. I think the competition between Mexican food trucks at Longwharf makes the qualtiy and experience definitely of a higher order. Ixtapa near the X in Springfield is good and worthy of a drive by. I am certainly happy they are so conveniently located but if you are a serious Mexican food enthusiast, you might not be overly impressed, on the other hand if you have the craves and want a decent quality product at an affordable price by all means stop and check them out, that’s what I did.

This taco truck is great! Tacos are $ 1.50 and so good. I had pork, but they have many authentic options including cow tongue. The spicy salsa isn’t very spicy and make sure to say yes to the grilled jalapeño on the side. These tacos also come with radishes and lemon wedges. The tacos are just like the ones at my favorite taquerias back home in the southwest. I was very impressed! Plus the guy behind the counter was super funny and nice. This place is a real gem! Also, I’ve only seen it in the exact same place. I don’t think it ever moves. So, no need for twitter or drivebys. It’ll be there!
