Shoney’s Restaurant

Friday, 15 Jan. Service so-​so. Seafood bar: worst ever. Turnip greens way too salty. Green breans, Mac and cheese, white beans… cooked so long almost to the point of dissolving, fish /​shrimp… over cooked and chewy… horrible, same with hush puppies. Salad bar: ranch dressing watered down. Upon checking out… not once was I asked how it was but I did volunteer the above in a nice manner and guess what? Just a smile from cashier and lady behind her, handed my ticket to sign… not one word… seriously? Shortly after leaving, I called and asked for manager. Placed on hold… came back and said she is in the bathroom. My oh my. Been to this shoneys many times however this is the absolute worst… absolute worst!!!

I have been to this Shoney’s several times with varying results.
The Staff is very friendly besides their quirkiness. One waitress must by pushing 75 wears a faux tan all year round, has a short salt/​pepper hairdo with a rat tail ½ down her back. The others are just plain older and country but very attentive. If you go during a late lunch hour, say after 12.30pm, then the vacuuming and sweeping right under your feet commences before shift change. The lunch buffet is clean, fresh and average. Today’s lettuce was a bit on the brown-​edged side, but with a little picking I was able to avoid those choice pieces. I rarely partake in the other
hot” items, but they looked OK. Overall I will go back but earlier than later and order off the menu or stick with just the salad.
Suggestion to them would be to add a mixed green salad for variety sake.
