Been meaning to write a review for a while. First place I had sushi… And what an interesting world that opened up! For the price, rolls aren’t bad, but sauce is heavy on some taking over your palate. Chinese dishes are always large and for the most pretty fresh. Service… Up and down. I get that this is a small hole in the wall place in St. Albans but it could definitely improve. The 2 dedicated owners are always there and one of them always acknowledges you. I was happy to see tonight the staff was heavier. However, mind you, these are high school students. I have celiacs so I’m always skeptical how I’ll be taken care of because of reoccurring attitude. Sometimes waitstaff can be clueless on needs. I always turn to the owners though this makes me feel bad. I think it would be beneficial to train these people up some more. Being such a small place, though it’s great to be yourself at work, voice levels on outside conversation needs to drop. Wondering whose food is whose with allergies isn’t ok and neither is saying«so who had what».(I know mistakes happen, but introducing a seat number system would be good!) Slamming bus bins down on empty tables to clear is pretty gross too. Not only do we see the crumby leftovers, but the atmosphere is interrupted again. Bottom line here is small things make the experience better. Be more attentive to your guests needs before getting on the phone, and take a look around and improve your place of work. I like going here and don’t mean to complain, simply offer up what may make a lot of people’s meals a lot better. Props to having a wide GF selection! But make sure you let the owners know how serious your allergies are, not because of their spoken English, but because of not understanding entirely what cross contamination is!(I’ve had fried noodles more then half the time on my soup plate)

Eastern Dragon is the best place to eat in the St. Albans area. Great sushi, good prices, and short wait times on pickup orders.

Eastern Dragon appears to have what Saint Albans seems to be lacking lately: great sushi! My last stop here resulted in wondrous surprise at the extent of choices before me when it came to ordering sushi items here. I ended up with the Fantastic Roll which has a nice gentle spiciness to it without overwhelming the palate. The rolls are large but not difficult to eat. I also ordered an appetizer of Crab Rangoon which are more like Humungous Crab Rangoon! They are filled to the brim with hot filling and use nice large pastry shells. But be careful, they are WAY hot coming out of the kitchen. Service isn’t bad. Fairly attentive but not overly friendly. Prices are right in the range for what you’d expect for Asian take out but it’s got a decent sit down area making it OK as a restaurant. Don’t expect high end ambiance. The hot dishes they serve here are also nicely done. And I’ve never got take out here I didn’t like.

Wow, I didn’t realize that I hadn’t reviewed this place yet! I’ve gotten food here many time since living in St. Albans, I haven’t ever had a issue with any dishes, everything has always been fresh, quick and good! They have only messed up on one order, I called to pick up for work and ordered my food. When I arrived and told them what I ordered, they realized the mix up and remade my food in under 10 minutes! The place looks fairly clean and well kept, the service isn’t really note-worthy but usually friendly enough. This is my go — to chinese!

This place is awesome. While staying at school 9 months out of the year, this place is a must. It may be a 40 min drive, but it’s worth it. The food is fantastic, fast, and fresh. Not to mention the portions are great as well. Can’t forget the made to order sushi! Definitely a top tier place for me.

If I could give 10 stars for this place, I would! The batter on chicken fingers were delicious, the crab rangoon was so good, I wanted more! The pork fried rice better than any rice I’ve ever had! I’m so happy with place I would drive the extra 20miles to go there. Severely Impressed!!! Would recommend this place!

I really wanted to like this place! I was encouraged by the Unilocal reviews but I didn’t see eye to eye with all the rest. I’m a huge fan of Chinese take-out, I’m always looking for a new restaurant to try so I got excited about this place just down the street from my office. With sushi available too I was extra excited! In sum: the sushi rolls were no better than grocery store quality and given that, I thought the price point was high. I also tried the chicken wings. They were super dry. The boneless spare ribs were nothing special. Fried rice was also dry. Crab Rangoon = okay. Given I tried all my favorites and there was nothing to write home about, I won’t be back. Dang it.

I love this place! Why? Because when we haven’t been in for a while they still ask if we want our usual. On a recent date night without child(what’s the point of having a date if the kiddo is with you?) We were asked where the kiddo was. Point of fact, I didn’t order the usual and was pleasantly surprised! The veggie tempura with veggie sushi was quite good and I highly recommend it. Love you Eastern Dragon guys! We are new to Vermont(dude…I have neighbors who have been in the same house for over 40 years and the locals STILL refer to it as the previous owner’s house). I love Eastern Dragon because they were welcoming from the first visit unlike many other places in St. Albans. At first I was going to put restaurants in the previous sentence but places works just fine and covers more of my experience here. Great food, great service… end of story.
