I think this place is known for their good pizza. I made the mistake and I ordered the Beer Battered Cod dinner and my wife ordered a salad. My dinner looked like it was from a school cafeteria. The Cod was square and definitely pulled from a frozen package and just popped in the oven. The french fries tasted stale. On top of that, the Tatar sauce they brought out for the fish seriously came in a tear open packet(like a squeeze ketchup packet). How cheap and unsatisfying is that? Absolutely no effort or presentation to the meal. I could have went to a cheap grocery store and made that meal for less than $ 5.00 My wife’s salad was literally flooded in dressing and was extremely basic. I’ll prob give this place another chance but this time I will go with the pizza.

I feel like I got led astray from Unilocal on this one. Completely underwhelmed. The food was bland and meh at best. The lasagna was way over cooked, noodles way too mushy. Salads had way to much dressing on them, and were nothing more than a plate of iceberg lettuce with a few onions on top. There was one waitress for the entire restaurant, so needless to say she wasn’t really around. The bus girl was on top of it though. Won’t be back.

I almost feel badly reviewing this place because the people working there seem so nice but the food was just so so so horrible, I feel strongly enough to share my experience. Stopped in for a quick bite; craving some traditional spaghetti and meat sauce. Ordered salad and the aforementioned pasta. Salad came — literally — DROWNING in dressing. I was so hungry that I didn’t want to wait for them to fix the issue, so I started eating around the lake of dressing, but when the waitress came for the plate, there were about 2 inches of standing ranch left. To her credit, she said she would have brought me a different salad, but it was a moot point by then. Onto the pasta. The worst. The noodles were limp, the«meat sauce» was just burnt hamburger meat on top of the noodles with the regular marinara poured on top of the meat, and the marinara was terrible. Kind of sweet, but mostly just bland. The best part of the meal was the little roll that came with my pasta. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing(but an Italian place shouldn’t mess up spaghetti and meat sauce). Regardless, I won’t be back.

Love this pizza! Once ate at this place 3 times in a 24 hour window. Corn fritters are also amazing! Now I live over 100 miles away but anytime I’m in St. Peter’s it’s a strong possibility we may stop in.

I had just completed a long bike ride and I was needing some pasta. We Unilocaled this place and we were not disappointed. They offer a lunch special even on Saturday. I got the cheese manicotti. It came with a side salad and bread roll for $ 7.99. I chose the house salad which was a light vingarette. The manicotti was just enough for a lunch serving. Down fall is they only have Pepsi products… I would stop again if I am in the area.

We have been going to Saullos for years! Great little Italian place to eat at. Their salads are the best!

Let me start out by saying I wish Unilocal allowed ½ stars as I think Saullo’s was better than 4, just not quite 5 stars. Secondly, and this does not affect my review; but they carry Pepsi products. Personally I prefer Coke and oftentimes that’s a consideration if we’re deciding between multiple places to dine. I went with two friends of mine, I know one of them(possibly both) have been here before but I had not. The first thing I noticed was that the place was *very* clean — we got there about 6pm, and oftentimes at that time of the evening restaurants aren’t necessary clean. It was obvious that they were cleaning as they went which always scores points for me. We were greeted promptly, which is another thing that often suffers at this time of night, so things were off to a good start. Our server took our drink orders and quickly returned and got our dinner orders. I had the toasted ravioli along with a dinner salad, and both of my friends had pasta. The dinner salad was good, but not great. As with Adam E’s review, I was a bit surprised that there wasn’t even a hint of cheese on it; but that fact aside I had no complaint with it. In fact I was pleasant surprised that it contained a nice amount of dressing — all too often I get salads that either have virtually none or are drowned in dressing. The toasted ravioli was surprisingly good. There were a dozen of them with a nice amount of marinara and a roll. I wish the roll had been warm instead of room temperature, but that’s a minor quibble. The ravioli themselves were not overly large, but I found myself full upon finishing them so I think they were reasonably sized. My check came to $ 12.xx with tax for the meal which I think was reasonable(the ravioli w/the salad and roll was $ 8.95). All in all a very nice dinner and I’ll be back. And a comment on the review by Ken G. A one star review because he showed up when they were closed? I have no qualms with a restaurant closing between 2pm-4pm if they so choose, plenty of restaurants do similar things so to hit them with a 1 star review over that seemed inappropriate to me.

One of the things I regretted most about graduating from SEMO in Cape Girardeau in the 70’s was leaving Pagliai’s Pizza behind. Well it turns out that it eventually resurfaced at this place, rectangular pizza pan and all! Wonderful thin crust and great cheeses and meats. My wife and I were hoping to bring some of the 16″ two-topping pizza home with but just pigged it all down(mostly me). So delicious! Pretty cozy atmosphere, not so many college students this time but two thumbs up. This was our first time there, so were familiar with Mario’s next door and it’s close to Target and Home Depot.

My husband and I love Italian food and recently moved to the area so we thought we’d give it a try. Waste of money! The wines(one red and one white) were absolutely terrible and we’re not wine enthusiasts by any means. My husband ordered fettuccini alfredo and it was was very bland. I had lasagna and it wasn’t bad, but for the prices they charge everything should have been much tastier. The service was good although we went during the week and it was late at night.

This is a solid choice for lunch. I enjoyed the pizza & salad with a drink special for $ 7.95. Pizza was thin crust St. Louis style with provel with what appeared to homemade Italian sausage. Salad was not what I was expecting. I was thinking there would be some cheese but no. However, it was good. Iceberg chopped in house with a few thin slice of red onion, hard boiled egg and house sweet Italian dressing. The place was very clean. The ceiling tiles were bright white and ceiling fans had no dust or grime, a dead giveaway the place is well cared for. Featured a couple flat screen tv’s. Walls looked freshly painted. Dinning room featured several small square tables with vinyl table cloths. The chairs were metal with cushions they were clean but might have been a bit dated. Windows were super clean. Food arrived quickly. Service pleasant. You can tell this was all homemade. This was a hit. I look forward to bringing my family back in the evening. P. S. on the way out I discovered all soups are made in house. The soups of the day were baked potato soup and a vegetable beef soup. I look forward to trying these. Very difficult to find house made soups these days.

Why would a pizza place close from 2 – 4 during the day. I had a late lunch and I walked in at 2pm. They told me they were closed. Very upsetting.

It does not get any better for pizza in St Louis. Wide variety on the menu. All wonderful. Family owned. A++ A must place to enjoy a great meal.
