Carbriant Banquet Hall and Party Center

My family and I recently had an event at this location. A surprise party for my dad. We searched high and low for a clean, nice, but not-​too-​expensive venue to host it. I was searching and asking around to some friends, and since I don’t live in St. Louis, my mom, who does live in St. Louis, and I had to tag-​team in getting info and scouting locations.
I got info on this location and my mom went to go check it out. Out of all the other places she saw, this one she really liked most. Its apparently owned by a husband and wife– and we’re all in for supporting family businesses. The first interactions my mom had in dealing with them were from, as we called, The Wife. To be honest, not very pleasant. She took DAYS to call you back/​follow up, she was rude, not very thorough in her information, snippy, had an attitidude and just lacked general customer service etiquiette. It was by pure chance that after the second time my mom had to deal with them, she got a chance to talk to Anthony, to which we call, The Husband. He was VERY nice: an easy-​going, laid back guy who was very pleasant to talk to, flexible and extrememely accomodating. We got lucky– because we were ready to cancel/​walk away from this venue because of dealing with The Wife. But The Husband was able to calm the situation down and we were put back at ease to move forward.
By the time I got to St. Louis to help with the party set-​up, I was holding my breath hoping that I wouldn’t have to deal with The Wife. She had already rubbed my mom such the wrong way, I didn’t want any animosity to happen the day of the event, when we’re all having a good time.
So, if you choose this venue, which, overall I would recommend for clean, accommodating, affordable function: a DJ booth set up, nice kitchen, floors, no stains in the ceiling tiles, a little stage area, etc, when you call, ask to speak to Anthony. Because until The Wife gets some charm school classes under her belt, she may give you the wrong impression as to what this little gem of a place really can be.
