Christopher’s Hair Salon

I have been looking for a salon around the area for a while now. I’ve read reviews but I’ve always been so uneasy when it comes to getting my hair tended to because it is so easy to mess up and I would have to live with it for a month at the very least. I called Christopher when I finally decided it was time to get my hair taken care of. It has been over a year since I’ve gone to the salon, I’ve let it grow out again for the most part but it started getting a little more dull and in desperate needs of professional care. The lady that answered the phone was very pleasant, I explained to her what I wanted done and she asked me if I have had a chance to look over their stylists’ page online to see if I wanted anyone in particular. I have but I still wasn’t sure so she assigned me to someone she thought would get the job done. She was very upfront about the price and gave me a quote depending on what service I might require which was great. I ended up seeing Vince Santangelo.
The day of my appointment, he was finishing up a gentleman’s haircut so I maybe waited for 5 minutes or so. When it was my turn, he was asked me what I wanted, all the specifics about the color I wanted and brought over samples. He was also very helpful with making the decision as far as what color I should go with since I have very dark hair (natural). So my 2.5 hour appointment consisted of the color, wait time, some extra conditioning time since my hair ended up very dry, and the cut and blow dry. All in all, I think he did a wonderful job. The color isn’t too bright or unnatural for someone with my complexion and he gave me the cut I wanted which is a softer face-​framing layers, little trimming throughout and some side bangs. I honestly have no complaints and will most likely be back. He was concerned with what I wanted and tried his best to give me the color and cut I asked for.
As far as the salon itself, it’s clean, the people are friendly and it seems like most of their clients have been going there for a long time. When I was in the back room waiting for my color to set, the two ladies shampooing seemed to have known everyone sitting in there except for myself. I feel that they like to give you personalized service which is why I think people come back to the salon. My experience was definitely so much nicer than anywhere else I’ve gone to and the price is really not that tremendous.

Visit Priscilla! She is amazing with hair. I am always uneasy about making changes but she is always up to date on the latest styles and what would look great with my face and bone structure. I am never disappointed whenever I go!

Let me start by saying that I am so particular about my hair. Before moving to St. Louis the same person had cut my hair for almost 5 years so it was difficult for me to trust someone else. I know that might sound silly but my hair is a lot to manage, it’s very thick and wavy! I tried a few different salons and stylists in STL and I always left disappointed until a girlfriend of mine suggested Derrick at Christophers. After my first haircut with Derrick I knew I had found my new go-​to hair stylist in St. Louis and I was thrilled. He really listens to what I say but also gives his opinion on what would work best. I’m always pleased with the end result, he plays to my natural waves but cuts it so I can also style it straight.
The main reason I go to Christopher’s is for Derrick but the salon itself is also very nice. It is much simpler than some of the other salons I tried out but I actually enjoy that aspect. The rest of the staff is always welcoming and helpful! The location is a bit odd but it was also super close to my apartment (another major plus!).
The only downside is that I have to set a reminder to make appointments a couple weeks in advance because he is so busy! But that is a price I’m willing to pay for a fab haircut :)

My stylist Rand works here and I couldn’t be happier with the service. He is always willing to work around my schedule and will come in on Sunday or Monday when the salon is closed if that’s the only time I can get in. Everyone at Christopher’s is amazing.

Before he moved to Denver, my stylist Jason worked here. It’s a little difficult to find (in the lobby of a bank) and parking is limited, but once you get over that hump, it’s a fab salon!
Once Jason left town, I had a few haircuts by David Brown as well. He is the stylist for many VIP’s in the area (including several employees at St. Louis Mag) and is a great stylist. Unfortunately his schedule and mine weren’t compatible… he’s in high demand and I don’t know what I’m doing from one day to the next. But David’s haricuts are solid!
