A small group of us gave this Bevo area restaurant and bar a try on a Friday night. The servers were very friendly. The contemporary interior is nice, with pendant lights, exposed brick, archways, slate bathrooms, mosaic marble & granite bar, and contemporary artwork; I wasn’t so sure about the look of the bar stools. But, they were very comfortable. The stools also had a lever that raised the bouncy stool up and down. Needless to say, this lever got some serious play!!! The drinks were strong and there were plenty of rounds being bought for us by the friendly 20 – 30 something regulars. In fact, I was sufferin’ the next morning. The bar menu was VERY reasonable. I didn’t try the ½ slab of ribs, but it is only $ 8.95. Most menu items were only $ 5.95-$ 6.95, which included mostly bar food, some steak and pastas. I had the Italian salad and seafood ravioli. While the ravioli and sauce had a ton of flavor, I didn’t like that the cream sauce had a flour in it. I remember seeing someone else write a review about St. Louis cream sauces with flour in them and I agree. Why do people have to paste up a good cream sauce with flour??? Yuk! Karaōke started around 9:00. Good music selection, not the best acoustics/sound and most of the singers were singing heavy metal, which got old fast. I hope for their sake that it isn’t always the case. I would go again for a cheap night out.

As is sometimes the case, I came across Dogtown Italiano because they had Karaōke one night. The parking can be tricky(who wants to cross Gravois), but the restaurant is quite nice. I’ve only had the apps — all good. The drinks reasonable and the staff very friendly. I enjoy a well done décor, exposed brick and a nice atmosphere.
