Sometimes, I start jonesing for an omelet and a stack of pancakes. That’s when I head to Gingham’s. On first glance, the interior is kind of run down and outdated, and it looks more like a restaurant that someone stopped caring about in the late 90s. However, every time I’ve been there, the service was fast, friendly, and accurate, and the food was absolutely delicious. The last time I was there a couple months ago, there was a sign saying they’d be relocating. Not sure when that will be happening, but when it does, I’ll find their new place and stuff myself silly there.

I’ve gotta say, this place has some kick-ass fried chicken. I usually go to Crusoe’s for my Sunday chicken fix, but the line was out the door when I visited. So the closest place I could think of(because Hodak’s is TOTALLY overrated) was Gingham’s Homestyle. Service was brisk and friendly, and the chicken? Fantastic. Juicy and very, very tasty. I would have grabbed a piece of chocolate pie to finish up, but I could barely move after such a good meal. I think this is my go-to for fried chicken in the future.

Not what it once was. Priced a little high for the quality of food you get. There are better choices in the south county area.

Point of Interest: This South County and the St. Charles location are not connected in any way. Visualize the Red Headed love child of IHOP and Denny’s and you’ve created Gingham’s. What does that mean? It means you have a good place for breakfast at a reasonable price. The ambiance will be stark and Plane Jane, but you will not care you are there for the greasy diner quality breakfast. Their servers make you feel like a regular, even when it is your first visit. Anyone who follows my reviews know I am a fan of Biscuits and Gravy and I am happy to say, Gingham’s is being added to my list here on Unilocal.I enjoyed a flaky biscuit and a milk gravy filled with chucks of sausage. I only needed to add some more pepper to make me truly happy. I prefer my Hash-browns extra crispy and even when I request them prepared that way so many places just don’t get it. However, the grill master here at Gingham’s not only got it, but he impressed me. These truly were the crispiest hash-browns I have ever had. He also understands eggs over easy. Not paying attention, when ordering got me two sausage links instead of patties like the SO. I do prefer a patty over a link. The SO got three pancakes with his breakfast and they were served a light golden color. They were served hot, making it easy for the packaged«whipped spread» to melt before adding the maple syrup. They were good, but I want real butter on my pancakes. I will not make a special trip from the city to eat here, but when we are going to Costco and want breakfast before shopping we’ll be back.

I have eaten here so so many times. Food is what I would expect from a Homestyle Restaurant. With winning the best breakfast award in St. Louis before you might want to try it out. Their has not been a bad meal I have ever eaten here they have a vary consistent breakfast crowd. Low cost meal with a friendly staff. The owners are always on hand working to ensure everyones satisfaction. I must admit their Burgers must have gone through some changes it seams they went from fantastic hand made burgers to a frozen pattie. I have tried 90% of their sandwiches all good. If you go for St. Patricks day enjoy the cornbeef and sauerkraut. Thier pies are brought in but are fantastic. Go for the breakfast or late night since their open 24 hours a day.

This a great restaurant. I love the omelets This restaurant used to bea Perkin’s years ago. If you remember Perkin’s this place is like a travel back in time. It is almost exactly like it was back then. It is a very good American cuisine restaurant. The menu is not highly sophisticated but it is very tasty and worth every penny. I have been here many times and I will be back many times.

I was not hopeful when we arrived here but the service was attentive, our breakfast was good and came out very quickly, and the price was very reasonable. This place could be a real gem if they just change their chairs so it didn’t look so cafeteria-like.

I go here every Sunday with my family, not by choice really. I have a different opinion and think the prices are a little high, for the rather average quality of food. This is obviously a South County staple. I can’t say I would choose it on my own, without my family. I’d say C+ at best. Try IHOP.

I have always gone to the Gingham’s in St. Charles, MO. This was the first time I had gone to the South County location. We met up with a couple for dinner. It was raining and gloomy, but that didn’t stop us from driving almost an hour for this meal. Of course there were some Groupons involved too. :) I ordered onion rings as an appetizer and a Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich for dinner. The onion rings were crispy and hot when they arrived, the Cordon Bleu was delicious. It was well cooked, cheesy and satisfying. My girl got a similar meal and was pleased. My drink was filled often, and I was even offered a to-go drink for the ride. The couple we were with had a bit of an issue with their order, but the staff was more than willing to rectify the situation and comp the meal in the process. We were all satisfied and we will be willing to go back in the future.

A elderly white haven, but don’t let it put you off. Super friendly service, a good selection of food and it is good too. Prices are very reasonable.

Went there for a Sunday morning breakfast. Something that needs to be noted… this restaurant is a gathering place for older people(mostly White). While sometimes this can end up being a very awkward thing for someone who is not(White), the servers, hostesses and most of the patrons did not stare or behave oddly towards the only party of non-Whites myself or those in my party noted. Now, on to the important part: the food. Unless you’re a HUGE fan of cheese, you’re going to want to make sure you say no cheese. One person in my party requested no cheese, but i forgot. We both got omelets, but mine was made with so much cheese, it was oozing out of every bite. The omelet was delicious otherwise. We also got a milkshake, and it was GREAT — like better than Steak N Shake great — light, airy, creamy, etc. The pancakes were great as well. I plan to come back.

This is my favorite restaurant in the whole wide world. Gingham’s and I go way back to my angsty high school years, when I’d grab mom’s car keys, my super emo journal and the $ 5 I had to my name and head there for coffee and«me time»(16 year olds totally need«me time»). It has always been really warm and inviting. The staff has been great for years. Friendly, easy going. The prices haven’t gone up much. And they have excellent food. This is my favorite french toast of anywhere. It’s not overdone. They stick to the basics, and it works. They also make their own house dressing, which I think is a mix of creamy italian and ranch, that’s outstanding. I really love this place. It’s 24 hours, so that’s nice after a big night out. I know everyone raves about Uncle Bills, but seriously? Go to Gingham’s. Way better food, way better prices and a much friendlier environment.

I love the breakfast food. We have had good food here on every occasion. Give me a B2 with a side of hashbrowns. We have had non breakfast food here but the pancakes keep us coming back. One side note even the nonsmoking section does get smoke blown into it at times.

You know, I feel like this place is Bob Evan’s, lesser known, red headed step sister. I don’t mean that in a negative way. I mean it exactly how it sounds. This place has the same type of food(American home cooking type), same quality of food(good but not great), and attracts more or less the same crowd(the 65 and up). Only difference? It’s not part of a nationwide chain… I don’t think. The food here is decent, but it’s nothing extraordinary. Breakfast is better than dinner, but that’s alright because you can order it all day long. It is difficult to get into the parking lot though since it is(literally) impossible to get to it if you are approaching from the west thanks to that annoying median down the middle of Lindbergh.

Gingham’s is a good place to go for breakfast; they serve it all day long and the prices are amazing.(I think what I like is called the Rancher or something like that.) The rest of the food here is so-so and they attract an older crowd. Stay away from this place on Sundays as the after church crowd is insane!
