The manager Keith was a great help to me and my mother. I went in to purchase a low profile car jack that was on sale on their website but I didn’t want to wait for it to be shipped to me. I called to see if it was in stock there and the lady on the phone was very polite and checked the item for me. As we entered Keith assisted me in located the item and even carried it to the checkout for me. We are not familiar with hardware stores and don’t shop for things like this often, but if we ever do this specific location will be out go to!

I love Harbor Freight and I cannot lie! This place is like a candy store to someone like me, remodeling my house 1 project at a time while also doing handyman work for others. No where else do I know of can you get 100 assorted sized clamps for $ 4.(Should never need to buy any again!) While many of their tools wouldn’t stand up to professional use, day after day, for the rest of us it’s quite a value. Most have lifetime warranties attached to them. I’ve never had to exchange anything and I use a lot of different tools for a lot of different projects. You can buy a small air compressor for $ 40-$ 50, a 25 foot hose for $ 20, and a nail gun for another $ 30. So for $ 100 you can now redo all the trim work in your house. They have a super-sturdy wood workbench for around $ 150 that comes with a wood vise(I have 2 of them). If you need a trailer or a ‘cow catcher’ or ramps or a bicycle hoist, they have it. Need some oddball tool to do a car repair? Get it here for way less. Replacement headlight bulbs are like $ 5 each, instead of $ 30 or more at other places. Harbor Freight offers coupons via text, email, and snail mail. The offers change monthly but it seems to me that everything they sell is discounted at some point during the year. Everyone has a bad day now or then, but I’ve never had any real problem with any employee here. Most are very helpful and outgoing.

Massive amounts of tools. Think Lowe’s or Home Depot, but on a much much cheaper scale. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, but was amazed by the amount of tools in such a small place.

Lousy policies and poor customer service. During the weekend, I was trying to buy a big ticket item that was on sale. None of the local stores had it in stock. The store on Watson was getting one delivered on Monday. They said to call first thing on Monday to hold it(they won’t hold an item not in stock). I called on Monday to confirm the item arrived and to place a hold on it. The Customer service rep took my name(and I took hers) and asked how soon before I came to pick it up. I told her I would be there within an hour. The store is 30 miles from my house, so 40 minutes later, I arrived at the store to watch them loading it in some other guys truck(who claimed to be me, according to them). The manager could sense my irritation and said that the item in the back of the guys truck was not the same item. The tap dance ensued with only vague promises of giving me a call when they got one in(could be months — he didn’t know). I wasted a day and $ 20 in gas because of the lousy customer service from this store. Let’s hope their corporate office fixes my problem.

Tools, tools and more tools. This place has just about every possible tool that you could ever need in your garage. Power tools, air tools and hand tools. They also carry many other items like small trailer tires, lights and wiring. Tarps, band saws, gloves, home and garden items. You name it they probably carry it. Did I mention cheap? Well they are extremely cheap. Way cheaper than you can find most anywhere else. The downside? They are cheap made. Now, I’m not saying don’t buy because they are a lower quality grade tools. They are fantastic for your home. If you were buying tools to use every day like a carpenter, or technician, then you pay the big buck for high quality tools. But for a guy like myself that needs them around the house, to put in the back of my truck and use a couple times a month or sometimes a couple times a year, they are perfect! Hell, most of my tools I end up loosing after the first use, so being able to purchase these items fairly inexpensively knowing that I will end up loosing it anyway or leaving it outside in the rain or whatever, it’s the perfect place for my to buy. I purchase from this location on a regular basis. The employees are normally very helpful and easy to work with. They are also very helpful with helping you load larger items without having to wait, indefinitely at some places. If you haven’t been through, you should stop by just to wonder the isles. It’s impossible to not find something you need.

Harbor Freight, the Walmart of tool stores. You’ve heard of the blog People of Walmart right? Well, someone should really start a people of Harbor Freight, because this place is a wonderland of deformities, fashion disasters, tooth decay, and cheap tools that you never new existed. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Walmart, at times, I’ll be strolling through one with my friend and realize that we sound like a walking commercial for the place as we talk about how much we love all the cool cheap stuff. esp when it is on Clearance! I imagine that walking through Harbor Freight generates the same levels of euphoria among our working class heros and weekend warriors. As soon as you enter, the smell of rubber, tools, oil, and metal washes over you so completely it conjures up memories of tinkering around with grampa in his shed or garage on a hot summer day. After shuffling around for a few minutes I realized that everything was in primary colors, absolutely everything. I took a lot of photos because it was such a colorful place. At one point, I stood in the aisle as my carpenter friend checked out various things. Most everything you can tell comes straight from China, but I don’t care, cheap is cheap. The place was alive with many other people that know where to go to get good enough, affordable, useful, and needful things. I bought a bike pump for my one speed. Next time you think of something you need, go to Harbor Freight, take a big whiff of the smell of men fixing things, and watch some aisle tv. Don’t forget to take your pictures.
