I don’t often give out one star. And I’d been in here once before when the food wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible either. I had literally rotten fish tonight as fish and chips. I live in the area and just wanted to grab something easy and close to take home. I’ve NEVER had an experience like this where I got food that was waaayyyy past being servable. I will never be eating there again for fear I won’t be able to smell/taste the rotting and get sick from it instead.

Not the most original name, as it’s an Irish pub on the corner of Cherokee and Lemp in Benton Park. They have 4 TVs. And they have what you would expect on tap: Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks, and Magners. Plus 4 Hands and Urban Chestnut. Plenty of whiskey as well. Decent, small menu. The service is good, the drinks are cheap. A solid place all around.

I’ll admit, this review is probably bias, because this place is so close to my apartment. This place is sort of like Cheers, a lot of people are regulars and the owners and staff make an effort to learn your name. I don’t eat meat, so I haven’t tried most of their food. From what I’ve had, it’s pretty decent stuff. They will have Irish musicians in from time to time and usually have one of he games on all the time. It’s worth a try if you’re in the area or live near by.

Great place, good times, unless you run into a blonde bartender. Never run a tab with her, pay her drink by drink, she will steal from you. It sucks because it’s a great place, she is cancer.

Bottom line: this place is worth a visit for a good bar meal and some cold ones. I happened to be in the area for a show and my friend and I were on the prowl for dinner. We nearly passed by the Corner Pub without thinking, but the sign of food deals stopped us. To be honest I was a little hesitant to go in. It’s a fairy nondescript shop front and the only patrons I saw looked like a few regulars. However the advertised pulled pork was a little too tempting to pass up… We sat at the bar and I ended up with the Reuben and my friend with the pulled pork. All the sandwiches and most of the available food was under $ 10, and the drinks were pretty cheap with a good selection. I was impressed with my sandwich — it came out fast, had pretty good flavor, and the fries had some dope seasoning. And the beer was cold. The barkeep was friendly and the service was good. They have the typical beer on draft for an Irish pub(domestic, Magners, Guiness) plus some local UC. Everything ya need. They have a full bar and live music, too, but I can’t comment having never experienced either. Next time I go I’ll try it out and edit my review accordingly. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

This use to be a great place to hang out. What happened??? It’s nearly vacant when you walk in. The few people that are there are close friends with the bartender. If you try to enter into the conversation, they will literally turn their backs and ignore you. It’s eerie! I would recommend grabbing a fantastic burger at O’Connells or meeting up with your friends over some pizza at Riley’s. Much better environments at these places. This is my third attempt at the Corner Pub. I won’t be going back.
