The steak sandwich is really great. And I can’t help but get the chips and cheese sauce every time(even though I’m sure it’s just heated up canned cheese). The bartenders are decent. The owners can be nice, but I’ve also heard horror stories about how bad they are. Karaōke but it’s not loud enough you can’t hear the person sitting next to you.

I purchased a happy hour package that Keeton’s donated to an auction. I hosted the happy hour last night and our experience was wonderful! The bartender was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Both owners were there and welcomed me right away. They very nice and checked in with me several times to make sure everything was ok. I would recommend Keeton’s to anyone that’s looking for just a cool, casual place to hang out and have a good time.

I went in for a quick drink with my friend Kelly on Friday around 4pm. Loved the atmosphere. My friend Kelly could smoke so she was happy. My captain and coke was perfect. Lots of TVs. Nice bartender. And to top it off a cute guy came in(I think a regular), and struck up a conversation with us. A relaxing place. I’m gonna go back next Friday and maybe grab a bite with my beverage.

Keeton’s is very easy to miss. It’s positioned in the middle of a strip mall, and the windows are all covered to block out the sun. Inside it’s dark, with the normal dive bar feel. Lots of regulars posted in their normal spots, but there are tons of tables and I doubt the place ever is full. They have some decent specials… $ 2UV bombs, Cardinal bucket and food specials. They even give out free jello shots when the Cards turn a double play. But we really wanted to watch the US Soccer game and the bartender gladly turned one of the may TV’s to the game for us. From a staffing perspective, they seemed pretty overwhelmed when it got busy. There are two bartenders and a cook… and I think the owner. Once the night rush hit, it was tougher to get table service and we had to head to the bar for another round of drinks. They also use handwritten checks to track your tab… which in my opinion slows the staff down and is sometimes sketchy. But everyone was friendly and happy to have new customers in the place. Smoking allowed here. We didn’t try any food other than a small order of pretzels & cheese. But the food coming out of the kitchen seemed a bit better than you’d expect for a dive bar like this.

Woww!, this place is surprisingly impressive. It’s low ley, but has great food, sports bar atmosphere. So we came during lunch time. It wasn’t crowed. So we sat at a table. There was 1 lady bartending. She was also waiting the tables. She was good at multitasking and handling the floor. So I ordered the mini tacos for my appetizer. They were good. Then I ordered the chicken strips which was like a big chicken breasts, that was breaded tgen fried then cut into pieces. It was so delicious. Dipped them in the wing sauce, also a basket of fries, it was a huge basket. Wish they had a smaller portion for half the price. Will definitely be coming back & try the other options on the menu. My mom tried the famous steak sandwich on cheese garlic bread.

As others have stated the steak sandwich is awesome. Got it to go and I would get the same thing or try a burger.

Good food, great service. I ordered the ¾lb burger as opposed to the steak sandwich that is most popular. It did not disappoint. Add the sautéed mushrooms and onions and ask to have the patty dipped in their homemade wings sauce for an added kick. The fries were crispy too. The bad? They have a really bad on-tap beer selection(only Natural Lite? Is that even a beer?) and it’s a smoking establishment(I will automatically knock a star off any place that serves food and allows smoking). Overall, I would recommend this place for lunch, especially during the day when it’s not smoky and crowded.

Be sure to get the steak sandwich on cheese garlic bread. Oh and homemade chips. Drink specials are great and Donna and Shannon are the best. Also hands down best karaōke in STL. They have it 5 nights a week at least. Tons of parking too.

Divey & smokey yet relaxed and friendly sums up this South City hangout. Great place to catch a game, gotta love a bar that induces participation and there’s not a bad seat in the house. Drinks are cheap and everyone seems to know each other. I went on the Halloween Haunted House bus ride and it was FABULOUS! For $ 50 you received: T-Shirt Speed Pass to Silo X(total of 7 haunted houses at 1 location) Bus Ride Beer & Jello shots on the bus(never ran out) Sandwhiches & Chips First round of drinks at the bar close to the haunted house(can’t remember the name) Buffet at Pueble Solis Imo’s Pizza at the bar This was super fun, & a great deal too! I’ll be back next year, for sure!

Steak sandwich on garlic cheese bread, oh my. Absolutely delicious. Came here Tuesday for the first time while on a business trip and couldn’t get the sandwich off my mind. Two days later I’m back for another steak sandwich on my way to the airport. Delicious!!!

Keeton’s DOUBLEPLAY is a typical South-side bar that is located in a strip mall in front of Burlington Coat Factory. I’m not sure how they were able to obtain a smoking exemption since they serve a ton of food, but it is a smoking bar. This place is nothing fancy. Cheapish drinks, karaōke, live music, and sports on big screens are what they serve up. Steak sandwiches are what they are known for. The crowd can be a little hoos-i-bob, but that’s part of the fun. I personally take advantage of their $ 10 breakfast buffet and shuttle to/from Mardi Gras every year, even though they did run out of food early, it was a good spread and is always well worth it.

The steak sandwich is great but you have got to try the smoked pork chops. The staff is always friendly and I almost always see someone I know in there. It’s always cold in there so bring a jacket. Other than that this place is a great spot to have some food and a cold beer!

Really good burgers and pub-type food. The steak sandwich is superb. The burgers have a great peppery seasoning. They’re pretty outstanding. Also, homemade potato chips done right. The only drawback? It’s pretty smoky in there some nights.
