I love this store! It is my go to store when I need a unique or original gift, especially for a woman. It is a little wonderland of intrigue and when you open the door and walk in, you know you have stumbled upon something special. The owner is friendly and loves dogs and my Pug is always welcome there!

This may be the prettiest store I’ve ever visited– from its purple floor to the glittery items it contains.
I’ve bought several gift items here over the years, and the recepients have never been disappointed. I went today and bought two lanterns I’m giving my cousins as Christmas gifts. Their selection of greeting cards made me smile many times. The candles all smell nice and come in a variety of sizes. The employees will even put it in a pretty gift bag if you ask!
The pricing is average or perhaps even a little below average for a unique boutique. Though the store is only one room, you may have to spend at least half an hour walking around to see everything.

La Belle Histoire is a gift shoppe that is fondly known in Soulard as «the gypsy store.». This charming store fits perfectly in the historic district. It has an art deco theme inside. They make custom candles, mardi gras masks, hats and purses. They also sell gifts, cards, scarves, jewelry, home décor and a variety of other items. Cute shop!
