Ehhh, actually my first time to a Lion’s Choice, and people were sayin, «imagine Arby’s, but wayyyy better all around.» This one in particular was nice and cozy, good amount of seating and not too cramped. I got the large roast beef combo with cheese fries for 10 bucks. Pretty pricey overall for the amount of food you’re getting. The roast beef was tender, cooked to a nice medium rare, but it wasn’t flavorful at all. Had to add their«au jus» sauce and other toppings for some type of flavor. The good thing is they have unlimited«au jus» sauce and a bunch of other sauces that complement fries well. They also have like unlimited jalepenos, onions, and other condiments if that is your way of enjoying a roast beef. All in all, a good place to eat that doesn’t take too much time but not too impressive.

Employee took my food tray when he saw I was done eating. My car key went into the dumpster. To narrow the search, I held each trash bag up to the car until one of them unlocked it. 5 mins later after washing cheese off the key, I was back on the road.

Consistently delicious! I always order the regular roast beef meal. I get the sandwich on a whole wheat bun with no butter to make it a bit more healthy :) Oh and a head’s up, try their tropical tea! I think they still have it, and if so, it’s unsweetened and so refreshing.

I had the French dip, fries and iced tea. The beef is shaved thin, the roll was nice and solid and the Australian jus was heavenly. The iced tea was fresh. I’d go here again.

Lion’s Choice is a fast food chain exclusive to St. Louis, and is always worth a visit whenever you happen to be in town. Their roast beef sandwiches are to die for, same with their cheap dip cones(like 30 cents for a small cone) and their fries. The interiors aren’t really any different from most fast food restaurants, and the service is the same as well. It is still my favorite fast food chains in existence. I could eat here all day. Interior– 2.5÷5 Food– 4.5÷5 Service– 3.5÷5 OVERALL– 4⁄5

If you love roast beef sandwiches and you live in the Midwest, then you already know how great this regional chain is. Perfectly cooked, thinly-sliced and MEDIUM-RARE(the way roast beef is supposed to be served). I always get the sandwich with Swiss cheese. Lion’s Choice also dusts their roast beef with a tasty dry seasoning, and if you want you can ask the staff to put a bit extra on your sandwich. For sauces, the classic horseradish, the honey-mustard(ask for it at the counter), or the chipotle are all good choices. The natural-cut french fries take some getting used to, possibly because Lion’s Choice uses canola oil in their fryers but you will come to like them. Lion’s Choice has a pretty wide selection of sandwiches, soups, chili and other things available, but the reason you keep coming back will be the roast beef. I can’t remember having roast beef this good at any other restaurant. This particular location benefits from fast service and friendly staff. For good food fast, try Lion’s Choice.

Stopped in for lunch break. It was tasty, fast, professional. I had the Italian special. I probably could have eaten more than the regular meal. Next time I’ll keep that in mind I’ll be back for more

Best roast beef sandwich around. They were more than helpful when we asked to have the King sandwich cut in half. They recommended their long bun and it was perfect. All the sauces were tasty! The root beer float was awesome. They give you the cup with the ice cream and you add your own root beer. It was like the never ending glass of deliciousness. We lived here for years and so happy this great establishment was still there.

Okay, I know I know. Why write a review for a fast food restaurant. I usually don’t unless something definitely stands out. First of all Lion’s Choice is one of my all-time favorites. If you think that all«roast beef» sandwiches are the same you are mistaken. There is a reason everyone craves it. We’ve dined at this location for the last few weeks on a Tuesday night after my daughter’s soccer practice. The service was impeccable. Each and every evening we’ve been greeted with a smile and wonderful attentiveness. I think in this day and age it is rare to find manners and politeness in a fast food restaurant. Overall the classic roast beef with swiss is my favorite and you doctor it up anyway you like. My favorite is with au jus and horsey sauce! Its even crazy to mention it but get the«crushed ice». And don’t forget to kid a 25cent cone to finish up your meal! Can’t be beat!

I love Lion’s Chioce, even though I have never tried their flagship roast beef sandwich. Their fries are great, milkshakes are very good, and I always get a hot ham sandwich, which I love with a little horseradish sauce and honey mustard – Lion’s Choice is a condiments lover’s dream. I will admit it isn’t the most consistent place, but usually all 3 of those things are at least good, if not delicious. Staff is generally nice too, other than the cashier that was there last week and argued with me when I tried tried to order the«original» size. The menu has 3 sizes for meal: original, large, and king. She kept asking me if I meant«regular», and I said, «I don’t know what regular is, but your menu says original, and that’s what I want.» It was funny that she said she wasn’t trying to be argumentative, which she clearly was… she knew exactly what I meant. It ws kind of annoying. Finally, I am always a little surprised by the prices… seems just a little more expensive than what I would think, but not enough to keep me from coming back.

At 4 p.m., I needed lunch badly, and Lion’s Choice was close. I got a large roast beef sandwich with cheese, regular fries and a large drink for $ 8.62. The food was quite good, maybe especially good, because I was so hungry. The sandwich was hefty with well-seasoned roast beef, a little light on the cheese, and the bun was soft. The fries were thin, skin-on, crispy and salty. There are two fountain drink dispensers, so many choices are available. And there is an abundance of condiments, none of which I used.

Lion’s Choice is one of my favorite«Fast Food» spots. I love this location, maybe because I remember coming here as a little girl. The roast beef sandwich is so good. I dip my sandwich into BBQ sauce. The meat is thinly sliced and seasoned. The roast beef is rare, if you want it well done just ask. If you do not want the seasoning, just ask. They accommodate all special requests(like extra seasoning for me). One of the best parts of the sandwich is the butter steamed bun. They steam the bun with butter for a few seconds before assembling the sandwich. Fries are great. Veggie sticks are also good. A favorite for locals in STL.

I’ve been coming here for 20+ years. The food is hot and tasty and fresh. The fries are crispy. And the custard for dessert is as good as any you’ll find. You will become a fan!

Ohhh Lion’s Choice!!! The best! Delicious Roast Beef Sandwiches served warm– consists of Fresh sliced Roast beef, burger bun and a little seasoned salt. Just those 3 ingrdients is all you need! Add a little Au Jus sauce and you are about to eat the best little roast beef sandwich ever! Fries are a perfect pair. They also have mini ice cream cones(plain or chocolate dipped) for under a quarter.(Last time I was there, plain vanilla was 10 cents, and chocolate dipped was 15 cents) Its a fun snack for the kids. :) Also, if you prefer your Roast Beef a little rare, you can tell the cook. Otherwise it will be cooked to perfection!

After you eat one of their roast beef sandwich and eat anyone else’s other than a true restaurant you will be spoiled for life. You may not get 5 sandwiches for $ 5.00 here but we are talking quality. This is not processed roast beef it is real roast beef cooked and sliced before you eyes. As stated in other reviews the horseradish sauce is the best. It is great on the sandwich and great for dipping the fries. The fries are almost a McDonald clone. I don’t know how they do but the fries are great. I have also had over the years their turkey, ham and hot dogs. I like the beef the best.
