In a quest for the perfect Irish pub in St. Louis; I’ve searched far and wide. I stumbled upon this establishment through a friend and was met with the kind of welcome and service expected of a regular at the neighborhood tavern. The bar is well stocked and the staff well equipped(that’s what she said). Annastacia and her accomplices are adept in their methods of procuring your needs. Of note, Laura will serve you a drink with just the right amount of sass and service to make you feel at home, Brittney will wow you with her amazing personality and cute, good looks and Chettara will dazzle you with her mere presence. 5 stars. Again and again.

Fabulous happy hour menu. The mussels, are terrific! Good selection of beers on tap and friendly service on the patio. Great for people watching or just having a chat. Very accommodating for a large group on the patio, too.

They have a nice patio and the staff is friendly, but I’m never very impressed with their food. Tends to be on the bland side. If you’re a first timer I would go with the adult grilled cheese of fish and chips. They do have a nice selection of beer, though. Fun place to hang out with friends

I met a friend at Llywelyn’s for a few drinks and lunch on Friday. Neither of us had ever been in this pub before. It was old style English/Irish pub décor with a friendly staff. We each ahd a cocktail and ordered some food. The drinks were great, made well and perfect amount of alcohol. I ordered the fish & chips. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fish. It appeared to be hand dipped and perfectly fried. The French fries that came with it were good and plentiful. The prices were reasonable for both the food and the drink. When I am in the area, I will surely stop back in and try some of the other dishes they offer.

Extremely cool staff and awesome food with great drink selections. Patio seating available and relatively quick service during lunch rush. I’ve been here about 5 or 6 times already and will probably make this a regular lunch spot. Order the mini burgers with a draught beer and you won’t be disappointed.

My family of four had an unexpected errand to run last evening. At 7:30 pm we were famished and were near CWE. I was craving fish and chips. So we decided to try this location. The food was ok, nothing memorable, but the service was excellent. We ordered fish and chips, a house salad(the highlight of my meal) a burger, and a prosperity and 1 beer, and some sodas. A bit pricey at $ 70 including tip. We may go back for just drinks and a snack sometime. Rather than dinner.

This a really nice pub. Child friendly. Service is nice. Parking is tricky but never an issue. they have nights every Thursday. Food Steak Sandwich — YUM! One of the best I ever had. I ordered the steak to be cooked medium well and it was delicious. Flavorful and juicy. Highly recommended Shepard pie. Tasty and flavorful! Guinness flatbread — it was good. The steak is so tender and flavorful but the bread was extra crispy for my taste. Mac n cheese — nothing special. It tastes like the one I buy from the super market. lywelyn’s Burger — A ½ lb. burger smothered with pepper cheese or rarebit and topped with fried onions on a toasted bun. I liked the flavor but it was over cooked for my taste even though I asked for medium well.

Great pub, seems to often have a great crowd. Our bartender/server was GREAT. Friendly, great personality and very helpful. The atmosphere here is a bit dated and it does feel like a traditional pub. Food is above average for a pub, but not outstanding. Come for the atmosphere, drinks and then the food. Great location with lots of other places nearby in Central West End. Good for locals, visitor, big groups or small groups. Very casual. Management: Your are listed as a «TouchTunes» location where you can play music via the app and the digital«jukebox,» but it’s always unplugged. For fans of TouchTunes, this was disappointing. I hope you fix and reconnect soon.

Ehhh what do I say, it’s your typical bar. I have heard great things about this place, so I’ve given it several tries. The food is sub par bar food, so I would recommend going for drinks only and grabbing a bite to eat somewhere else. The drink specials and prices aren’t too bad, but there is nothing unique about this place. The one in Webster Groves is much nicer and doesn’t have the old bar odor that I’ve noticed is pretty heavy when you are inside. Service can be slow at times. I’d say 2 out of the 4 times I’ve been the service has been good, so 50% rating isn’t too bad right? The back patio is really what is getting this place some stars. I would say go when the weather is nice, and you should enjoy yourself.

Good food and lots of it. I got a bowl of the white chicken chili and it was a large bowl. It could have had a little more fire power, but I understand«chili for the masses» is not hot like I like it, more white pepper and cumin. The pulled pork was a big portion and sloppy with sauce. Better use a knife and fork. Luckily, I had them put the slaw(not inspirational-almost dry) on the side. The mac n cheese side was delicious and thick and creamy. Reasonable prices. It could have been a little warmer, but I was the first patron of the day at 11:40 tho they open at 11.

The food was good and the servers were friendly. We did have some trouble getting drinks when sitting at the bar, but there was only one bartender working. Overall good experience and I’ll be back!

Was disappointed. I was soo looking forward to eating here. It had been years since I had eaten here. I was craving the Llywellyn’s chicken sandwich. What a disappointment. The chicken and cheese was cold. The chicken was small and I was left with a lot of bread. I remember a piping hot sandwich with a lot of melted cheese and fried onions. It did not deliver. Probably won’t be back.

Cardinals game had ended and they lost the final to the cubbies. Bar had emptied except for a few patrons and one bartender. Seemed she was too busy totaling up receipts to not wait on me for 10 minutes.

Llewelyn’s is exactly what you want from a locks pic/watering hole. Friendly staff, solid prices, and above average bar fare. Llewelyn’s is not one of those places that will wow you when you walk in, nor will it give you a for sure good time, but it also won’t hold you back. Llewelyn’s is certainly one of those places that are made good or great by the company you bring with you to the bar. That shouldn’t be read negatively, just that it is no more than it promises to be: a solid bar that is more than able to provide you and a couple friends with a good place to stop by and enjoy some drinks/food.

Good crowd at Wednesday-night triva. Re: food, even if you’re willing to lower your standards for cheesesteaks outside of Philly, don’t let the lower price on the pub special cheesesteak suck you in! The bread seemed just mushy enough to assume it had been heated via microwave, no mushrooms/onions/peppers, and the cheese was weird. My friends said their burgers were mediocre, but serviceable. At least the sweet potato fries were good.

Cheap drinks. Variety of seating areas. Old school games available. I usually go to LLwellyns to get away from the busy CWE main area, and have a few drinks in a lowkey spot while enjoying that good olé Pacman game. It’s my preferred after dinner spot when I am in the Central West end. I’ve never tried their food, so can’t speak on it at all. I feel like they may have decreased the maintenance budget over the years… I will continue to patronize though. It is a place full of good people and friendly bartenders.

If you want good bar food, this is the place to go. They have inside and outside seating. Outside seating in the front to watch the world go by, a and the beer garden in the back to take life easy. Told to sit wherever we wanted, our waitress came by promptly to take our drink order. We chose our food and did not have to wait long before it appeared. Hubby Mike started with his favorite White Chicken Chili. He gets this every time we come here. Our salads arrived looking wonderful. Mike had the summer strawberry salad with chicken and I had the Ceasar salad with steak. I love their Ceasar dressing, the steak was cooked to perfection and the garlic toast was tasty. Both salads were devoured. I love Lewellyn’s because it’s close to home and it has good food. Try it. I will be coming back.

I ordered the pub burger with pub fries, along with a the Fuller’s ESB and Fuller’s London Pride from the draft list. My wife and I decided to head here because the Riverfront Times voted the pub burger as the best burger in St. Louis back in 2007. I also appreciated the classic English Draft beers. The burger was perfectly cooked to medium rare with a nice bun, crispy bacon, and cartelized onions. The sharp cheddar was salty and all melted to a nice consistency(like cheese wiz on a Philly Cheese Steak). It was delicious. Also,(for the win) malt vinegar was at the table and available without any request. Every proper British Pub should have malt vinegar at the table for the fries. God Save the Queen. I’ll go again.

The Guinness marinated steak flatbread was good, but my husband didn’t enjoy the steak and cheese sandwich at all. They say it’s an institution, but we think they need to get better steak and cheese in this institution! Do not mistake this sandwich for a Philly Cheesesteak! The fried pickles were yummy, and the service was very friendly. Overall, we liked enough to come back again one day to give them another shot.

Nice bar. Service is terrible. It’s a meat market. If you’re in a situation where you want to get laid, go here. If you’re not in a situation where you want to get laid, don’t go here.

I ordered first sandwich on their menu, steak and cheese with a bit of spice and grilled onion. I had meat cooked to medium rare. side I chose sweet potato waffle fries. and I ordered a beer cuz it’s Friday. first of all, the meat was not good. it’s not dry since I had them cooked medium rare, but when I chewed on it you can tell you are eating something cheap. I couldn’t even chew through since there is some tendon blocking. I tried to add some sauce but no prevail. honestly the meat made me kinda sad… I think the original flavor of the sandwich is destroyed by the meat. they have such good bread too! the bread was nicely toasted, and onion was so crispy, I hope they can change the meat. then I’d have to say the sweet potato waffle fries was a nice surprise. they are quite good, w/or w/o sauce. beer was fine too, I mean, it’s an Irish bar. overall this place is average. 3*

Ok today. Not a fan of the cheese sauce for chips. Also 2 of us got burgers without pickles but they gave pickles to the lamb burger and the shrimp po boy??? Service was also very slow. Many options right there will not be returning.

Sometimes you just need good pub food and this is definitely a great spot for it. This location is much smaller than it’s brothers but in the warmer months they have a really nice outdoor area. I’m always impressed by the size of the menu and the options including dishes from mussels to of course a wide variety of burgers and some interesting flatbreads. Usually you get a Llewellyn’s plastic mug which are more than welcome to take home with you, it’s the perfect size for a cold ice pick at home if one ever felt so inclined. The only drawback is it’s sort of dark and depressing on the inside imo. But they do have a separate dining room and service has always been very good.
