Am I a rabbit? No. But do I love salads any way? Yes. Once a week, my offive orders lunch from a local STL restaurant. I always order a salad and Lucas Park Grille was no different. I ordered the Chicken Chopped Salad. The salad comes with farro, dates, jicama, manchego cheese, cranberries, almonds, champagne vinaigrette. This was probably the best salad that I have ever ordered at any restaurant. The ratio of lettuce to toppings to dressing was fantastic. And the topping include things that I have never seen on a salad before. The whole office agrees that we will all order from Lucas Park Grille again. Can’t wait to try it for dinner.

Good appetizers… good salad. Tuna waaaaaaay over cooked(our table had 4 and all were same) and service less than ideal. Would try something else next time

Two stars on Unilocal is «Meh. I’ve experienced better» and sums up my feelings on this downtown restaurant. I was going to give it three stars. The food is worthy of more stars, but the customer service is what pushes this one over the edge for me. I work in downtown and my group of friends and I eat out at least once a week. We like to go to Lucas Park Grille as there is a variety and the food is consistently good — the Parmesan fries are fantastic. The problem lies in the slow service. We have been going consistently for the last six months and we have been 15 minutes late coming back on no fewer than four occasions. Once in a while, its easy to overlook, but it kept getting worse. We have 60 minutes for lunch. The last time we were in the restaurant for 70 minutes and 20 minutes went by before our food was entered into the computer per the ticket. At a downtown restaurant on a weekday, that is a problem. I contacted the management via their web form on Friday, April 8th. I gave all the details of our visit and I have received zero response. Now, I wasn’t looking to get a free lunch — I wanted to inform the management that their crew needed to be more timely in their service. I thought I would have at least gotten an email saying we are sorry for your experience and we hope to better serve you again in the future. I did not write them off saying we would never be back, I said that we would be hesitant to go back given the speed of their service. Downtown has many choices for lunch, but I won’t be choosing Lucas Park Grille anytime soon.

A friend of a friend decided to have a dinner party for her birthday a few years back, here. She extended an invitation to me, so we had a small kickback over food and drinks. It was a cute moment. She had somewhat of a large party, so they designated us towards the back bc that’s where the space is more suitable for such. Our waitress was nice and handled the party well. The food was ok. Not bad, not stellar, but ok. The drinks were strong and I liked the huge bar placement in the middle of the room. The bathrooms were clean and spacious w/great mirrors for selfies, lmao. This wasn’t my first time at LPG, however it’s not on my radar to frequent, either. It’s a cool spot downtown. It’s located on Washington, so the traffic is steady, especially on weekends. It’s decent for pregraming or happy hour. The atmosphere attacts young professionals. Will I come back? Hm… never say never. Truthfully, it’s not on my list of chosen hangout spots. But: I’m not opposed to a pregame or a light lunch there.

DELICIOUS chargrilled ribeye and truffle mac & cheese! Service is so-so but the outstanding flavorful steak completely makes up for it. Menu has nice range, something for everyone!

Lucas Park Grille is a great spot for a power lunch. We had a party of seven and were given a high table with window seating on one side, along with lots of pillows. If you are vertically challenged, then you might struggle getting into your seat. Our server was unpretentious and very efficient. They are very mindful of the lunchtime crowd, and our time restraints. Their lunch prix fixe has to be one of the best deals around. I received tomato bisque, kale salad and a half chicken salad sandwich for only $ 11. Love the décor and the whole vibe of this place!

On this unseasonably warm Saturday night in St Louis, the bars on Washington Ave were packed to the gills. We ducked into Lucas Park because we found the bar empty and could find seats. Perhaps there was a reason why the bar was empty. The dead pan bartender collected our drink and food order without any warmth or greeting, and I looked around the dark, cavernous space. There was nothing to look at. The space was without any discernible design and eye candy was non existent. I must say the food wasn’t bad and my ceviche, charcuterie and wedge salad hit the spot. The steely bartender warmed up a bit and we chatted about St Louis. Unfortunately, it was too little and too late and Lucas Park became unmemorable and forgettable.

Just the facts: My date and I arrive at the appointed time. The hostess takes us back to our table and offers one menu. Then our server, Chalmers, arrives and provides a wine list, goes off for several minutes then returns with a drink menu. I advised him we were attending a show at the Peabody at 7:30pm and would there be a problem with making it on time(It was now 6:00pm). His response«I don’t wear a watch.» We ordered drinks and our food selections. We didn’t see Chalmers again for some time. Two others brought our food out, wandered around the dining room for a moment before they finally figured out the correct table. Surfice it to say Chalmers conducted himself as though he’d rather be someplace else. At the conclusion of our dinner my date wanted to take the remainder of her unfinished dinner home. Chalmers returned with a box and dropped it on the table along with my bill which showed a total of $ 98.00. I gave him my credit card and he returned with the merchant copy and my copy of the credit card receipt that now reflected $ 114.00. He offered no itemized list showing he gave himself a tip. It wasn’t worth the $ 16 for me to raise a stink and ruin the Valentine evening for the patrons sitting around us. I will just NEVER return to this establishment. EVER.

My husband received a gift card for Lucas Park Grill from a family member recently and we used it for a weekday date night. The service was fast, the selection and prices were spot on for the atmosphere and space, and the food was hot and delicious when it was delivered. Our server Kacie was training a new employee but that didn’t affect her ability to provide impeccable service. We will be back!

Have been here before for drinks a couple times before. Prices are high and the crowd on the stuck up side. But oh well, still enjoyed myself. Very cool and open atmosphere. Tonight was the first time I had the food. I usually think about this place as a bar /night club, but heard good things about the menu. My girl and I went with(embarrassingly enough) a Groupon. Decided to look to see if one was available after we decided to eat here however. Greeted warmly and sat right away. Server was nice and swiftly took our drink/food orders. When I asked what the shortrib fries were about, she said«well, it’s fries with shortribs on top». Fair enough. Our food came quickly. Very pleased about that. Her salmon was nicely presented as well as my shortribs(garnished with four hand battered onion rings). The food was flawless. As a chef, that’s not an easy thing to say out loud. So. 5 stars for that! Our server. Well. She came by about 2 minutes after we got our food to ask how things were. We gave the thumbs up. Didn’t see her again for at least 30 minutes. I sure would have liked another glass of wine or two. But not bad enough to go looking for a server. I tipped 20% of the full meal price because I was hoping her lack of intent to serve was a glitch in her training. And as a food service professional myself I always give lacking service the benefits of doubt. Great food Lucas Park!

This establishment has possibly the most welcoming staff i have ever stepped foot into. Now to start with the menu, an appetizer to start is any of the flatbreads, go ahead any. Follow that with mid rare chilian sea bass or salmon with quinoa, completely astonishing. Moving on to the staff… they welcome everybody with a smile, even when it gets crowded Thurs-Sat, if you come more than once, they will remember your vice. I would come back to stop here if i ever moved away.

Lucas Park has always been one of our lunch favorites. The service has always been great, the food is usually pretty good. Our favorite is getting the lunch specials. sometimes fried chicken, sometimes something random, and if you’re really lucky, you came on the lobster roll day. $ 10−12ish for giant pieces of lobster, mixed well and full of flavor? If the lobster roll was part of their regular menu, the once a week or every other week would be 3 times a week. It’s that good. I hear the owner of Lucas Park owns Rosalitas across the street, don’t know for sure, but if I had to choose between the two, I’d choose Lucas Park or not eating. Rosalitas is a joke.

Lunch yesterday with the family after touring the Campbell House. Plenty of empty tables when we arrived so we were seated right away. Our server took our drink order and quickly returned with them. I chose the BLT on sour dough with Parmesan fries and Mike chose the prix fix menu for lunch. Soup, salad and half of a chicken salad sandwich. They had a choice of four sandwiches to choose from, but my sister was disappointed that none of them were vegetarian. The BLT was good but I did have to remove some of the lettuce. There was a lot on it. The Parmesan fries were fries with Parmesan on them. Mike’s Chicken salad was good but very runny and quite messy to eat. The soup and salad were fine. The atmosphere is open and they have a large bar in the middle of the room. There is a gas fireplace in the back. There is also outdoor seating. I would come back here but I’m not going to go out of my way.

On a Sunday walk, on Washington Street in STL, we stopped in for a quiet lunch. We sat outside on the patio/deck. We had a wonderful lunch starting with chips and dip. The hummus was great. I had the tomato bisque and turkey pita sandwich. My husband went with breakfast and had an omelet and pototoes. Very good service, food, and atmosphere! Great find!

Upscale bar/restaurant in appearance without crazy pricing. We had the Ahi Tuna and Lobster Ravioli. I’m from Chicago and the size of the meals and quality would have been cost almost twice as much. Worth your time if your looking to sneak in a place that doesn’t seem to get enough attention.

Stopped in for a couple appetizers after a Cardinals game, primarily because the gelato place we thought we were going to had closed several months back. We are from out of town and should really pay attention to the date on articles claiming the best food near the ballpark. We wandered down Washington Avenue for a bit not sure of where to go. We didn’t want a full meal and we didn’t want to wait a long time. Rosarito’s was packed so we opted for Lucas Park Grille across the street where there was absolutely no wait. Does this bode well? We’ll see. No one was at the host stand, so it took a minute for us to be noticed. When we finally got a table, the server took eons to get to us. She did apologize for the wait, but seriously there were maybe 7 tables of people and a few sitting at the bar — not sure what took them so long. We were cordial and so was she, but you got the feeling something was wrong, like we were pests or bothersome. My drink got sat down in front of me from an arm that reached over my shoulder from behind — plop! — and then disappeared without a word. And then it took at least 15 minutes before she came back to take our food order. At this point, I’d already settled on a 2-star review based solely on service. Our order was taken but then another 20 – 25 minutes rolled by before anything else happened. The server would rush by and ask if we were okay, but never actually stopped to give us any attention or at least assure us food was coming at some point. And because all we ordered were pretty basic items, waiting almost half an hour seemed completely unreasonable. Finally the food arrived and everything got better. My husband ordered the Mini Burgers which he thoroughly enjoyed. Cooked well and had great flavor. I opted for the Warm Pretzels with a cheddar cheese fondue. Menu description said it also came with grain mustard but it was not on the plate. However, that cheese dip was TO. DIE. FOR. Had a bit of a beer flavor, but not sure if it was made with beer or not. However, regardless, it was delicious. The pretzels themselves were like a pretzel breadstick — they were thick but light, not chewy or hard and crusty. Seems like such a simple meal, but they really did a spectacular job with it. So if it wasn’t for the good food, this would’ve been a much worse review. And although we aren’t from St. Louis and don’t get up that way too often(if ever), I have no idea if we will ever be back. But I wouldn’t be opposed to it. They have a really nice menu with a lot of interesting sounding dishes. If they can just get everyone trained on time management, there’d be no reason not to love this place.

Came to St. Louis for a convention and looked for a place to eat, settled at Lucas park and the food was marginal at best and the service was the worst! The server had a cold and rude demeanor. Our appetizers came with our meal while we waited and watched other people get their meals before us and the sat down 20 minutes after us. I guess if you have no other option come here.

This was basically my home away from home for a few months in 2013. I’ve never been here during the day. I went here basically every Friday/Saturday and typically ended my night here since it stays open so late. The atmosphere is typically good, it’s either packed or dead from my experience. The bartenders are nice and the dance floor is tiny which I don’t mind because I don’t put on 4 inch heels to dance. There are plenty of places to sit and the outdoor patio is divine if you need some air or to take a call away from the noise. I will say the music is hit or miss. In my MANY stops in I’ve enjoyed the music maybe twice. All in all a good place to end your night if you just want a place to hang.

It was a weird dynamic: the couples looking for a Valentine’s Day dinner just feet away from drunk revelers from Mardi Gras. The duck fat fries tastes… well, like fries. The bacon wrapped shrimp, though was delicious. The grilled cheese burger was great to say you’ve eaten it(a burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches) and tasted good, but was hard to eat. The jalapeño meatloaf was excellent! Loses the star for the weird atmosphere and lack of draft beer.

Lucas Park was pretty average. With all that is going on down Washington Ave, I can’t imagine this is the best option. However, my salad(Asian Chicken) was decent and their hummus plate was pretty well thought out, aside from the same problem every hummus plate has(not enough pitas). It was decently fast for lunch and it wasn’t too loud or overcrowded. A couple of people in my party got the Chop Salad which looked like it was over flowing with toppings — I’m not exactly sure where the lettuce was! But it looked very fresh and I’m sure super filling. I would probably explore other options before going back… but wouldn’t avoid it. Looks like it might be good for drinks, though!

Nothing to rav over. My husband and I were there on a Saturday night in November. It was not busy at all, yet the service was still below par. Rosalitas across the street was packed and we watched the people pour in there as we ate in the quiet and empty Lucas Park grill. We both had burgers, 2 different items. They forgot to add the fried egg on mine. The French fries were below par and chewy but the red pepper ketchup was awesome. The prices were average, but so was the food.

Our threesome hit Lucas Park for a late dinner after working an event for hours. The reason behind the decision was that it was one of the few places nearby still serving food. I was surprised that, for a pretty clubby environment, the menu consisted mostly of fancy entrees and apps. We started with the arugula and artichoke dip, which was solid. I ordered the smoked chicken breast sandwich. Don’t get me wrong, I polished it off, but the taste and ingredients were just okay. I also tried a piece of the chicken flatbread. This was not food that stood out in any way or that I’d feel the need to go back for again. My biggest issue was the service. Our server was nice and apologetic when she was around, but she was pretty absent overall. It took forever to get drinks, forever to get our orders in, forever for our food to come out, forever to pay the check. All the while, we were treated to the pounding house beats of the DJ. Should Lucas Park and I ever meet again, it would likely be for happy hour or a drink at the end of the night or something, but that would be it.

This was recommended by the hotel I was staying at and it came with rave reviews. The food started pretty good with the starters, but the mains were a bit underwhelming. For appetizers, the calamari and portobello mushroom fries were both delicious. For mains, my bison pot pie wasn’t what I was hoping for to give me that comfort food feeling. It was soupy on the inside and lacked flavor. The puff pastry was nice though. For dessert, the beignets were quite nice, though they took a while to come. The bar menu, they have a good selection of different beers from all over the word which was good. But they don’t have prices on the menu for them so you can order a Lindeman’s lambic framboise, but it costs you like $ 10+. The service was very polite and helpful. They were always willing to accommodate any requests and listen to issues we had. However, often times I wonder where they went as we were looking for them a couple times. All in all I’d say it’s just ok.

I went to Lucas Park Grille for an event with ALIVE magazine event and this place is a really awesome bar/space right in the middle of Washington Avenue. This is literally the perfect space to pop buy for happy hour with a small or large group of friends and have a quick meal. The drinks were pretty good and the bites were fine, too. It wasn’t a fair evaluation because it was such a big event but I can’t wait to come back here for drinks with friend. I love their large Island-style bar. They are hard to come by at this size in STL and are fun/tredny. Check out Lucas Park for Happy Hour!
