In an ever growing world of business organizations providing poor customer service and reneging on promises, Milbradt has jumped to the top of the list. After taking a snow blower in for repair, I was first told that I would be charged $ 40 just to look at it, but the fee would apply to any charges should I decide to go forward with the repair. Mysteriously, I was told later the same day that the repair cost would be extensive and I should just buy another one. Shortly thereafter, I was introduced to a salesman and shown a new snow blower. I noted that I could get the same machine for 10% less at another dealer and the agreement Milbradt made with me was that Milbradt would offer the same discount given that the $ 40 I was charged earlier would apply to the deal. Afterwards, I was ironically informed that I had to wait almost 3 weeks until a new shipment of machines came in. Now, after waiting for weeks, I am told that because I picked up my old machine, Milbradt would not honor the deal they made with me. Never once was I told that I was expected to forfeit my old machine and I even told the salesman that I could wait and limp along with my old machine for a while if necessary. He said that was fine and he appreciated my patience.(He knew I took the old machine!) Moreover, the $ 40 was a fee to inspect the old machine. There was never an understanding that I would leave/give up the old one. What I experienced today are the sleazy, unethical, and dishonest tactics one would expect to endure at a low rent used car dealership. Any potential customer should beware and avoid this establishment. There are plenty of other places to get the same equipment that are honest and trustworthy. I will never again do business with this dishonorable merchant.

Brought my mower in for an offseason tuneup. When I tried to use it in the spring, it smoked and died within a couple minutes. Since the mower was only a couple years old, and it worked just FINE in the fall, I called them up. Me: I brought this in a couple months ago and [whatever the guy’s name was] worked on it. Now it doesn’t work at all. Milbradt guy: Oh yeah? Heh. I’m not surprised. Bring it in and I’ll check it out. 24 hours later, I get a call from Milbradt saying X and Y were broken and it would cost $ 250 to get it repaired. I disputed this since, again, NOTHING was wrong with it in the fall, and was told they had no problems when they had it in the offseason and I must have done something wrong. Don’t go with these guys. I tried Finke more recently and was MUCH happier with the results.

Several months ago, I decided to buckle down & get a quality weedwacker(AKA trimmer) & blower. Not knowing squat about these items, my lovely bf suggested Milbradt as one of the places to window shop. Roger Albrecht came to my rescue. He suggested an excellent quality weedwacker & blower. He even showed me how to operate the equipment. Since that purchase, I have been a very happy customer. The prices are a bit high, but you get what you pay for. Certainly the weedwacker & blower are much much better than my stupid old battery powered weedwacker & blower that I purchased at a big box store. They do service these items as well as lawn mowers. And they can pick up & deliver if you don’t have the time to bring them to the store. It is a steep charge, but it might be worth it if you can’t spare the time & energy to lug it in your car. In any case, thanx Roger for curing my sanity & giving me an education on lawn equipment! I’ll definitely be back if I have any questions!
