The little lady at the counter was super nice! They were closing in 15 minutes, but didn’t rush us at all. They were very accommodating. We got pork fried rice, chicken fried rice, and crab rangoon. Pretty decent, if you’re looking for the darker rice you might want to ask for it well done.

Great cheap local Chinese. I would do it again. Had the sweet and sour pork. Lots a food for affordable price.

Simple menu with the usual Chinese-American fare. Walked in to place my carry out order, which took about 10−15min. Sweet and sour chicken had a flavorful citrus sauce over generous pieces of breaded chicken and garnished with fresh bell pepper, onion, and pineapple. Kung po chicken had a nice crunch with peanuts, celery, carrots, and waterchestnuts. Vegetable fried rice had a variety of veggies including peppers, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli. Portions were more than enough for the wife and I, and out of these three small entrees there is probably enough for another meal.

This place is always a delight. It’s exceptionally clean, the food is way above average strip mall Chinese, and the prices are reasonable.

After looking at all we could find in the way of Chinese food we finally got here and it was a delight. The Orange Chicken was great while my wife had the beef and broccoli which she declared to be the best ever. I highly recommend the Old St. Louis Chop Suey

This place, has the best fried rice in St. Louis! I have been coming here since I was 15. So that’s 10 yrs. I order my rice dark, because I like brown rice, not tan rice, lol. It’s so good. They’re quick. Priced just right. I wish they were a little more flexible on the combination plates, cause they don’t allow substitutions. You have to try the gravy.

I get this to go regularly. Great food. I love the fried rice and appetizers are all good. They’re a bit skeet on the white rice they give you but nbd. Bring cash!

Good food nice and fresh with good portions. I have passed by it for years and never went in until yesterday. It is a looks can be deceiving type place. From the outside it looks like any number of little dingy greasy chop suey holes in St Louis. When I went in I was pleasantly surprised. It is very clean, well lit with all the furniture in good repair, The kitchen is open to full view and nice and clean with all the staff in clean white uniforms. It will be my go to place for carry out. Be warned they only take cash.

a clean neighborhood place with ok food. Good crab rangoon and fried rice, but overly doughy potstickers and boneless hot-braised chicken.

I had the General Tso’s chicken lunch combo… $ 6.50ish. I love Chinese takeout and have been to many locations. Old St. Louis Chop Suey spares no expense in the quality of their food. Fresh veggies! The meat was fried up the way I like it without the ‘corn dog’ style batter that so many Chinese takeout places use. The crab Rangoon was not your standard ‘chinese buffet’ style crab rangoon. It had a very thin, almost flaky crust just the way I like it. The majority of Chinese takeout places don’t prepare it this way. The fried rice was good also. My only complaint is that I only had enough food for one meal. Some places will give you 2 pounds of food for their ‘lunch’ combos!

I have been going here for years. I have lived all over the city at one time or another and I’ve had my share of chinese food. I would say this is top of the line as far as taste goes. Their egg rolls are irresistible. My food is always hot and plentiful. They only take cash but they have an ATM in there as well. It is a clean, safe, environment where you can eat in or carryout. The staff is very friendly.

Affectionately referred to by my family as St. Louie Chop Suey, this is what I think of when I think of Chinese food. My family has been patronizing this South St. Louis institution since the place was built in the 80A.D. I don’t know why, but I have never had better crab rangoon. The cashew chicken is good as is the fried rice. If you really want something you can’t get anywhere else, order a St. Paul sandwich(an Egg Fu Yung sandwich– the egg Fun Yung comes in beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and vegetable).

This has got to be the best Chinese place in the area. Very reasonably priced and the service and food is amazing every time. They have my favorite Crab Rangoon and the Pork Fried Rice is oh so tasty. This is our go to place on a night with a low budget and an empty fridge. Always good! Everytime!
