Salon 231

From and A+ to F scale I’ll give this place a B. It’s great for a trim, not costly and the stylist was friendly. That being said, I wouldn’t go here for a hair makeover or a difficult cut. I have long hair and was specific with my expectations for the cut, yet feel it was only 50% accomplished. So, it was a good and much needed trim but the style did not come out as I had asked.

Salon 231 is a great salon. I like to think of it as a secret gem.
Located near Andre’s Banquet Hall on Telegraph Road, it’s easy to access, and it’s a nice little place to experience a bit of pampering. As a full service salon, Salon 231 offers just about every service from massages and manicures, to hair cuts, highlights, and updos, and they seem to do it all in style.
The salon itself is tastefully decorated in tans, black, and silver, and though it isn’t as expensive as some «trendier» salons in the area, its every bit as nice, and the staff are always ready to please you, and meet your every request.
I’ve been using Salon 231’s services for almost a year now, returning for highlights every 6 weeks, and I’ve yet to be disappointed with a single experience. What’s really great too, is they’re one of the only salons in the St. Louis area who use real silks for adding a bit of color to your hair. It’s difficult to explain what a silk is exactly, but if you will, imagine a string of shiny silk, tied to a single strand of your hair, that adds a splash of bling type glitter to your style. The silks are removable any time you want to remove them, but lasting at the same time if you want them to last. Very subtle, but very pretty. Salon 231 started the silk trend in the area, so of course they do it very well. Very cool!
The haircuts I’ve received at Salon 231 are top notch, as are the color/​highlight treatments I’ve experienced. The stylists are always friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the price is great, compared to other similar salons in the St. Louis area. I’m very happy with them, and would recommend their services to anyone.
