We had an excellent meal at Sasha’s on Shaw, last Saturday night. Despite 92 degree heat, their shaded patio was delightful, with umbrellas and bushes, plus a water feature. Our server was knowledgeable, and we took advantage of his recommendations for both wine and food. I had a Bordeaux blend from Napa, and my wife enjoyed a Sauvignon Blanc. We both ordered one of their special galettes/crepes. Mine was smoked salmon and trout with capers and onions, my wife’s and a brie with green apples and mango chutney, which she said was a perfect mix of lightly sweet and lightly savory. To finish off, we shared a crêpe with chocolate and grand marnier — delicious! We will definitely come back when we’re next in Saint Louis.

Sasha’s is awesome! I’ve been there many times alone, with family, co-workers and friends! It never fails to be a wonderful experience in so many ways and for any occasion. The staff are some of the most friendly and attentive around. Someone that definitely stands out every time I’m there is Cathy! She makes the best recommendations and is attentive in a way where she anticipates what your needs are. The food options are delicious, you can never go wrong. Among other favorite options, the cheese selection stands out. The charcuterie platter is by far my favorite! You must try this neighborhood joint. It has an air of sophistication without being pretentious and they are always friendly and accommodating.

Sasha’s is our favorite place to go for awesome meat and cheese plates. The world cheese plate has such a great balance of flavors(although the sweet Gjetoast will always be my favorite part). Pair it with a meat plate and you’re set! Like most charcuterie, it’s a little on the pricey side, but I feel like I actually get our money’s worth here. They also happen to have a great lamb dish, so definitely give that a try if you’re in the mood for a main course. And while I’ve never tried their pizza, I’d really like to because they look delicious! Complete with that STL thin crust!

This is my favorite place to go for a drink. The atmosphere is so cool with mood lighting and awesome music. The décor is beautiful. All the food on the menu is perfectly portioned and delicious. The staff is cool too. I haven’t been out on the patio, but I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can enjoy that also. Great place to meet up with friends, family, a date, coworkers, anyone! Find your own seat when you get there. And if you can’t pronounce the wine you’re getting(me), they’re cool with you just pointing to it.

Lunch date with my beautiful mom! Found off the beatin path going to the Botanical Gardens, and it was amazing! Slow considering it was a mid Monday lunch. Beautiful décor/atmosphere. Seat yourself at one of the edgy marble table tops with non matched yet all unique chairs. Appreciated the large windows throughout since there was not a cloud in the sky, but saw the cozy set up in the corner with an inviting custom antique fireplace, and actually can’t wait for a snowy night to come back and enjoy a glass of wine when the time arrives. Food: speechless. I’m a lover of French dips, and this hands down was the best I’ve ever had. Mind you cheese does not come with it, and I’m fine with that. It is an extra charge. The roast beef was sliced to perfection and layered just right. Au ju was the perfect temp and flavor. Sandwiches come with potato salad but can be substituted out for any salad of your choice, soup, and I believe other sides. I stopped listening when I heard sub a salad. I’ve forgotten the specific name of the salad, I believe it’s the house. It was filled with fresh artichokes, onion hearts, mixed greens, balsamic vinaigrette etc etc. So perfect for lunch, and left me feeling refreshed. Beverages: After going to the gardens we decided to end the afternoon with a cocktail and returned to Sasha’s. My mom ordered a simple vodka/club soda. I orders a Long Island ice tea. Once again I’m going to say that I’m a huge fan of long islands. Hands down the best I’ve had! The bartender brought out fresh lemons and squeezed fresh juice into it, he poured all the liquor precisely into the glass…, and then put his own mix into it that I feel ashamed if I share and really highly recommended going here as soon as possible. Prices for everything where by far underpriced or right on!

This is the best place for crêpes I’ve been to so far after moving to Saint Louis a few months ago. I’ve tried most of the top rated«creperies» and Sasha’s is the best so far. And if you love dark chocolate, Crêpe Amy is the choice for you.

They have a good wine selection but for full bottles. I wish they had more options for single glasses. If you are unsure what to order, talk to the servers– if you describe what you usually like to drink, they will recommend something good. The space is decent enough though if you are having a group larger than 5 or 6, make reservations. I am guessing it better when the weather is nice because they have a good sized patio out front.

Have I not reviewed Sasha’s yet? That’s pretty surprising… Sasha’s on Shaw is one of my favorite date spots in the city. Food and beverage-wise it has the same offerings as Sasha’s on DeMun, though the atmosphere and interior are slightly better. Sashas always has a great wine selection, good bottle selection, and decent tap selection. The bartenders are always very helpful, though I have no experience with their cocktail making abilities, and haven’t heard anything one way or another. Their food is always tasty albeit light, especially the cheese trays. My only complaint food-wise would probably be the greasiness/oiliness of their pizza-flatbreads. Don’t get me wrong, they taste good, they’re just a little too greasy for me. The seating is where it’s at. Unlike DeMun, Shaw is much more open-aired and much, much less cramped feeling(which gives the DeMun a more Euro vibe, I guess, so whatever you’re into). The Shaw patio is also huge which makes it great for the summer. Basically, whether it be a date or a small gathering with friends, Sasha’s on Shaw will satisfy.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I really did not like this place so much. Which is a shame, because many moons ago, I had been to their other location with Stewart P. and some of his friends, and had a fantastic time. And that had been at a busy hour. When I went to this location, it was pretty slow. Almost dead, in fact. My companion and I had just gone to a concert at Powell and we were hungry so we went to Sasha’s. It was so quiet that it was a bit awkward. But we ended up sitting outside to enjoy an early autumn day on their patio. they give you an iPad looking thing to order from which has photos and descriptions, though I discovered I still had to ask a ton of questions before ordering. Neat concept though… never seen that before anywhere. I ended up getting half a cheese plate because I did not want to eat a lot of cheese. I also had a savory fish crêpe. I want to say it was salmon. It may have been trout. Not too memorable though. My companion had the equivalent of a pepperoni pizza. There was broken glass on our table when we sat down. Waters did not stay full. And we both saw a mouse/rat/some sort of vermin running about in the little area at the edge of the patio… which would probably freak most people out but I didn’t really mind it too much. I figure I would be more wigged out if we had been seated inside and saw that. But that’s not why I gave them three stars… honest! The service was just craptastic. We had, I want to say, maybe two to three different servers. All of them utterly apathetic about their jobs or maybe just existing that particular day. I don’t know. It was bizarre. The food itself was good, so was the wine, although IMHO, I could prepare the same stuff at home for a fraction of the cost and have it taste just as good if not much better. I felt that the wine was overpriced too. I don’t think I would return here again unless someone else was paying, and I wasn’t starved and having to go back inside the restaurant every 2 seconds to grab a server. Oyyyy.

Ok, let me be clear that this is very much a hipster bar. If you are looking for a local bar next door, this is not your place. That being said, the atmosphere was nice and the wait staff was quick and fun. Me and my friend were able to hold a conversation without having to shout at each other, although this may be due to the fact we were there on a Sunday night. Beer selection was top notch with the local brews on tap. Price was about what you would expect from a bar with iPads for menus, but overall, this is a place I would catch a beer once and a while.

We always enjoy Sasha’s each time we go. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the wine selection is vast, and the food is always tasty(definitely recommend the hummus). I love their large fireplace that is a perfect spot to hang out on a cold day and the patio is wonderful in the summer. I would tell anyone to visit here for a nice, relaxing time.

Great place to meet for cocktails and crêpes. Their selection of savory and sweet crêpes is good, I especially like the crêpe AMY, a dark chocolate treat. Don’t leave without doing a couple Sasha Shots, fantastic espresso based shots that are delicious.

Hippy dippy eclectic… Be it known I’m a 49 yo guy from Ballwin,(read old and not hip), so gauge your expectations of this review appropriately. The location is within a few blocks of the garden and is quickly turning into a routine stop for my wife and I every time we visit. Seems there is ample parking on the street with no real dangerous issues I’m aware of. The place has a garden outdoor seating area that’s fenced in entirely with a single gate near the entrance. Haven’t sat out side yet as this is summer in St. Louis and like I pointed out earlier I’m old and don’t like to sweat. The interior is a funky mix of beaten down wooden floors, vintage chairs, and granite rough cut table tops. The wooden bar is vintage and cool. I have yet to visit this location with more than 30−40% full so for us the noise and activity level is what we prefer. Mostly we’ve been here on Saturday and Sunday afternoons though and the place might heat up in the evenings. Service was good as we actually had(2) servers… a cool cat that served us drinks pretty quickly and a gal that continued with the service and drink orders through our stay. Most of the menu choices are snack’y in nature; cold plate meat and cheese combos, some pizzas, and maybe one or two simple entrees. All in all a very cool destination that I recommend. G out.

I’m a native St. Louisan, taking pride on knowing all that is my home… but I was schooled when I tasted a piece of PAWPAW pie here! OMG. should NOT have shared one piece with 2 others, but now I’ll have to go back… This is a native tree… who knew? The adult beverages are plenty, we sat on the front patio and listened to the gorgeous wall fountain and my dinner of four cheese panini was perfect. We also had the crab cakes and the chicken salad and it was gobbled down too. The hostess. owner? stopped by and was very jovial and we plan on going back!

I was in STL visiting a friend and she brought me here for drinks because it was right down the street from her apartment. The place was really cute with great outdoor seating. We didn’t get any food Just desserts and drinks. The desserts we all had were delicious. The bottle of wine was great also. We prices are on The high end. The service was just ok, the waitress was slow and kept forgetting to come check on is for more drinks.

Love Love Love this place. We got to sit outside in the garden patio. The server explained to how they are establishing a natural environment around the place. They had tomatoes growing, basil, chives, and other herbs. Plus a koi pond. I love the natural environment mix with the IPAD menus. They have a delicious wine selection, two choices of Moscato and my friend got a nice red. My friend always like to surprise me with an appetizer, we got the prosciutto with mozzarella. It was tasty and salty. I order the beef tenderloin and he had the garden pizza. My meal was served on a black granite slab, it was the most beautiful presentation that I have even seen. Service was great, food was served with respect.

I would give their food a 3.5 but their setting a 4.5, hence my overall 4 rating. We ate outside here on a Sat night and the weather was perfect; we loved the fountain, décor, plants, etc. We had the European cheese plate(the triple cream was awesome, and the three semi-soft cheeses were good, but I would have preferred another soft cheese), the Greek salad(which was solid), and the chicken salad sandwich(good-I didn’t like the potato salad that much). The waitress recommended a Chenin Blanc that I liked — crisp, good summer white wine. Overall-a great spot! And their indoor rooms are really cool too.

My friend and I went to Sasha’s on Shaw for our monthly fabulous feast. It was her pick and I’d never been there before. It was what I think of as the weekday educator dinner shift(when you breakfast at 7 and lunch at 11, you dine by 5:30!). There were only two other people there when I arrived. I arrived a few minutes before my friend and had my pick of tables. The tables all have granite tops. The menu was on an iPad and I think that made it quicker for me to decide what I wanted. We ordered wine, appetizer and food, including soup — she a cup to start and I a bowl — which the server had promoted and which sounded delicious. Then the server returned and said they were all out of soup. It was about 5:35 and slow as no other, so I doubt they just ran out right then. I kind of wonder if they just forgot to make it, or if something happened to it between lunch and early educator dinner. I was disappointed not to get soup and it was difficult to pick something else to order on the rare day I didn’t want a veggie burger or a pizza. The wine? A sparkling moscato, oh so sweet. It was«Wine Wednesday,» so bottles were 25% off. Our appetizer, a cheese platter with berries and pecans, was tasty and I kind of wished we’d ordered multiple platters instead of entrees — I can eat a lot of cheese platters! In the end, I was glad I didn’t: the mango chutney crêpe that I’d settled on was delicious and enough for two meals. We had no room for dessert. The restroom is downstairs. The sink is HORRIBLE! It’ll try to give you a shower. Someone needs to fix it. Sasha’s on Shaw gave me a good meal in a pleasant setting, so I’m a happy Unilocaler. But fix that sink!

Impressed! They were clearly short staffed tonight, but it didn’t effect my experience at all. The wine selection was great, loved the iPad menu. Very trendy. I had the crab cakes and they were amazing! I say this as a native Floridian who has had PLENTY of fresh crab cakes. So good! This place is three minutes from my new apartment and I will most definitely be back!

Dear Sasha’s, You complete me. Your wine is amazing. Your veggie pizza is awesome. Your wine is wonderful. Your cheese is great. Your wine is delicious. Your service is always fabulous. Your wine is heavenly. Did I mention the wine? My boyfriend and I come here about once a month, and we always love it. From the Clos Vougeot Grand Cru to The Thrill of Stamp Collecting and everything in between, you make my life better. Sasha’s, don’t ever change. Just keep finding fabulous wine.

Neighbor gem! Nice select of standard and mid-priced wine, well stocked bar, and good local beers. Lite food fare from European cheeses, salads, small and tasty pizzas, and great sandwiches. Salmon, trout and crab cakes available. Yummy desserts. Warm nights are definitely for the patio as inside can get a bit loud for a wine bar. Staff is efficient and friendly when not crowded but not so much when it gets busy. Definitely a local favorite.

I’m giving Sasha’s on Shaw a five. Why? The atmosphere, the quality of the service from the sommelier, the tasty food, the menu with plenty of variety, and the overall value. Mary & I treated friends who recently moved to Lafayette Square from Denver to dinner at Sasha’s and all of us had a wonderful time. Sasha’s has an intimate setting that is perfect for a party of two or four in the winter, but also has a spacious porch seating area for summer months. The lighting is dark, but the menus are on iPads for ease on your eyes while you choose your drink from the extensive cocktail and wine list. We had entreés, soup, wine, beer, and a cheese board. If you want a laid-back, romantic, intimate setting with a wide variety of food items and alcohol, I highly recommend Sasha’s on Shaw. We’ll certainly go again.

Came here for lunch and it was fantastic! They were also one of the few restaurants open on Labor Day. I ordered the pizza with chorizo and it was amazing. I got a 9 inch small pizza and that was still more than enough food for me. I was able to take some of that home for leftovers! I also love coming here in the evenings to share bottles of wine with friends. This is a great hang out place. Sasha’s has another location but this place is a lot more open and spacious. This place is also located in a weird neighborhood. A lot of the buildings are abandoned but it looks like there’s a lot of potential for the neighborhood. And there’s not really any other restaurants or businesses in the neighborhood. I hope that this neighborhood has a revival and more people move to the area because it looks like it could be a really fun place to hang out in.

What happened to this place??? Our last visit a few weeks ago was atrocious! They had these fancy iPad menus except half the wine choices were apparently not available. They were out of three different wines that we picked along with the pâté appetizer. The descriptions of wine on these digital menus are laughable. Two paragraphs on the vineyards, where it’s located in Spain, what kind of beautiful hills it sits on, but absolutely nothing on the notes of the damn wine itself. Our waiter who was also the bartender was terrible. He didn’t have anything to suggest when he repeatedly came back with«sorry we are out of that». He didn’t bring us utensils until we had to flag another wait person down, didn’t bother to pour a full glass of wine for everyone(only three) after the tasting pour; never came back to check on us or gave us the check. Every step in the process involved excessive waiting and then flagging someone else down. Even though the bottle of wine we finally got(after our first choices were apparently out of stock) was quite exceptional the service was so abysmal that it put a serious damper on the experience. I am not coming back any time soon. They need to make some changes around here or they are going to find themselves in serious troubles very soon.

Sasha’s on Shaw is way cooler than the DeMun location. This one is the perfect neighborhood bar in location and aesthetics. It’s big corner location with huge windows and outdoor patio makes it come across as super inviting and open. The inside is very warm and comforting. I feel like I could stay all night drinking wine! They have tons of granite tables, a large bar space, and even a lounge area by a crackling fire for when it’s cold out. The service here has always been quality for me but I know some others have had different experiences. This is literally the perfect wine bar and I highly recommend checking it out.
