I drive by this little spot everyday for work and never had the right time to stop by until now. The thing that always caught my attention was that they sold Italian I’ve and gyros! My wife and I love gyros and other nearby places who make them usually can’t compete with locations in or near the city. Parking is in the front, but you take your order at a window in the back. Make sure to ring the bell for service… this place hasn’t became a hit in the area… yet! On the window they display a small selection of the items they sell, all the flavors of their Italian ice, snow cones, ice cream, gyros, kebabs, and sides. What I didn’t know was that they sell a slew of combinations. Different hot dogs from Chicago style to bbq and slaw. Salads and wraps intertwined with gyro ingredients to homemade chicken and dumplings! Word?! Check this out, they have souvenir cups and you can bring this back to refill for Italian ice and other cold treats at a discounted price! Makes for happy bank accounts! I was chatting with the person on shift there to find out the owner was her sister. All family run this small establishment. Her sister Lived in England for a while and that over there they called gyro meat kebabs. I was asking about the donner kebab that’s how I found out. She gave me a sample off this chili sauce to give a little heat to my classic gyro order. Much appreciative, ai do love some heat pizzazz. She gave me a free sample to try the Italian ice. Strawberry colada! A refreshing combination on a hot day. You can mix and match flavors. And some coupons. Oh! I should mention they have a free small Italian ice redeemable on Unilocal when you check on. I saved mine for later… kids would enjoy. I never mentioned the assortment of seating outside. Where you can see ofallon city hall, field of mowed grass and a small cozy garden within your sights… it’s near train tracks too, so you’ll like hear and see a train every once in a while. The gyro. I made the order to go. I live about 8 minutes from this location. It was put together cleanly, it wasn’t sloppily made. It was the appropriate amount of all the ingredients. From the seasoned lamb, iceberg, red onion, tomato, and tzatziki sauce and fetta. I really like adding that chili sauce I was given earlier to add some heat. Because the only issues I had were that the meat wasn’t that hot.(But that could be linked to me driving 8 minutes back home, but it was wrapped in foil and enclosed in styro), and the pita fell apart, which leads me to think that it wasn’t heated on a flat top or skillet. got to pre heat the pita so it’s more limber… flexible like a tortilla. Other than that, the value is spectacular. $ 6.50. Very fair. Better than most around these parts for sure. Happy too find a locally owned gyro hot dog place with some fantastic cold treats. I can’t wait to come back to try out more items.
