Steak ‘n Shake

Terrible service tonight, shakes took 40 mins to come out, employees yelling and talking amongst themselves in the front just rude, some young lady yell «F Steak n Shake» and ran out just sad.

This is the worst Steak’N’Shake location ever. The staff is so unbelievably lazy. We only ordered shakes and an hour later they still weren’t done (we were some of the only people in the restaurant). The waitress brought our ticket for us to pay but didn’t bring the shakes we ordered. «We’re busy making them!» She snapped. We waited a bit longer, but the shakes were never made. We finally walked out.
I have never experienced such terrible service. There was no reason for it either. There were plenty of staff, they were just lazy.
Zero stars.

Our waitress’s name started with a K. It was super good service. She brought my daughter activities. Very sketchy with the reviews but we had a great experience. Food came pretty quickly and it tasted excellent!

The Good:
Very quick and friendly service
Delicious milkshake and fries. Didn’t care much for the Cajun burger though.
The Bad:
Waitress moves a little too fast. I wasn’t even done with my milkshake and she was asking if I needed a to go cup.
Had a difficult time checking out. Was trying to pay using their app. Manager had to get involved and discovered the app only worked on one of their two registers.
The Ugly:
Floor of restaurant needs to be mopped. Doesn’t look like it’s been mopped for days.
Tables are also dirty. Most of the empty tables look as though they were not cleaned. Even my table had salt and cup rings from the last person.

May very well be the worst Steak n Shake on Earth. I’ve tried it quite a few times; either the drive-​thru staff can’t take the order properly (as in repeating it back to you as incorrectly as possible), you wait 30 minutes in the drive-​thru, or they screw up your order and give you the wrong food/​short you food/don’t follow instructions. Usually all three.
My one visit inside took over an hour and a half, and when I asked the server about the burger I’d ordered without onions in fact having a ton of onions, I was told «why don’t you just take them off yourself». I sent it back, and promptly got the same burger, with ¾ths of the onions removed, and the entire thing reeked of onions. Filthy location, loud, inattentive staff.

Stop here frequently to get my lunch while I’m at work. I usually order my meal to go. Always good food. Friendly employees. Manager is always in a good mood while I’m there. The Double Philly SteakBurger is amazing here.

Every time I come to St. Louis I stop here. Conveniently next to the rental car place. Food is awesome. Staff was very professional. In eat out. Not a fancy place, but If you want a burger and something better than fast food, this place is great

What I expected from this part of St. Louis. Old building, dingy bathrooms, etc.
Customer service ⁴⁄₅ — attentive and helpful
Food ²⁄₅ — stale bun, fries seemed microwaved, milkshakes came after the check
Nothing more to it. Wasn’t expecting greatness but I won’t be going to this particular store again.

Walked in and no one was there to great any of the customers I walked in with. Not one employee acknowledged our presence. No one offered to seat the customers. We left and went to The Waffle house. Worst Steak n Shake I have ever walked into. Zero stars.

I love Steak&Shake, but this one was very skimpy on the portions. I ordered the small $ 4 meal, single burger with fries and a soda.
The good, soda refills were constant. The bad, there were about 15 fries and the single burger did not cover the bun. It literally had holes in it.

If you want a greasy burger, poor service and hard cold fries go here then go to a doctor because you must be crazy!
The non-​smiling lady who serviced me said nothing, but «#2», «drink» and «here you go».
The burger was so greasy it dropped on me and I had to use a napkin to dry my lettuce.
French fries taste like they were old and were already cold as soon as I got them, but I know better than to return some food.
Haven’t had steak and shake for a long time and won’t be going back.

My first time in St. Louis and my first time at a Steak ‘n Shake. I don’t really understand the hype about these burgers. The patty is super thin, so you almost have to get a double. The bun was pretty solid, but everything else about just reminded me of those sad burgers at McDonald’s you get every now and then.
Oh well, it was quick and easy to get on our way out from the airport.

Ok so I have been sitting for a good 5 minutes with no one to approach me mind you after I’ve been seated. Can’t expect much from this place I suppose. I’m not from the area but heard that if ever in Missouri you must visit a Steak and Shake… Yeah I’ll pass. Doesn’t seem worth it and mind you I’ve had enough time to post this to Unilocal with constant stop and start thinking I was going to get service… Guess I’ll be going up the street to Rally’s… Can’t expect much from teens I suppose. Worst service EVER!!! To add insult to injury one of the girls says, «Oh I took to long? I’m sorry»… The worst

Pretty sure one of my children and I got food poisoning here. We ate the same thing with symptoms coming on together and ending. Also, the service sucked. No drinks, food was cold, had to ask for check and refills. Steak ‘n Shake on natural bridge, get your life together!

Horrible Experience! I’ll make it simple for you, CHOOSE A DIFFERENT LOCATION! I just wanted some fast easy comfort food and I didn’t get any of that. I did a late night meal here since there aren’t that many restaurants open late. I walked in and had a seat and was told someone would be right with me. I waited about 10 – 12 minutes just for the lady to ask me what I was drinking and I went ahead and ordered a Frisco Melt since I didn’t want to have to wait longer than needed. Meanwhile the table that sat down behind me (after me) has already ordered the food and are on their second round of drinks. After waiting about 25 – 30 minutes for the drink a different waitress walked by and asked if I had my drink yet and I said NOPE and she immediately went and got that for me. I got the Coke the same time i got the meal! That was the last I ever saw of my waitress. Another different server noticed I was empty on Coke and he gave me a refill in less then a 10 seconds. I can’t speak for all the servers there but the ones who actually helped me THANK YOU. And as for Jerisha, you need to find another job. Waiting tables is not for everyone.

Basically doing the waitress’ job for her. They didn’t give my order correctly all I asked was to put mayo instead of mustard, had to ask where my shake was, had to ask for a to go cup which I didn’t get for 10 minutes and didn’t need anymore, had to ask for a check. Overall terrible service.

the most awful experience ever!! Stuff are really rude! To take an order took 10min and there was nobody in line. I asked for dressing they said they don’t have vinnegrette and it was in menu. Later 45 min just to get 2 salads and sandwich. They said 5 – 10 min. After 30min when i asked for my order they just started to make it. And guys even didn’t know what comes in salad. They were keep checking the pics that they have in kitchen how to make it. Manager doesn’t care about costomer service at all. When i asked over again she just screamed what dressing do you want? Never going there again. And i will not recomend to nobody. Plus sandwich that i order and fries were cold. So that place doesn’t worse your time. It was 17 of july after 12 am.

Worst experience at Steak nShake I have ever had.
I have had an entire hour to wait just to get one pancake. What a complete mess.
One server for te entire store sucks!

Me and the girlfriend decided on steaknshake for dinner tonight. We were promptly seated and our drinks arrived in the next few moments. Our waitress Victoria was very pleasant tonight took our order of a frisko melt and fries and my girl ordered the bacon lovers burger. Just as I thought we were sitting a bit long our order had arrived and it was delicious as it always is. Until next time steaknshake.

First time me trying a Steak n Shake. I was not disappointed. I was in the mood for a burger and shake, and that’s what I got. Burger was made fresh to order (plenty of customizations possible) and the shake was so tastey. They have a bunch of shakes to choose from (see menu picture). I opted for the chocolate strawberry. Large sized and great value for the money.
Interior was clean and staff very friendly. I plan on a revisit.
