This is a clean subway with consistently decent service. I like the outdoor dining option and its location directly across from St Marys hospital. It’s a better than average subway. There doesn’t seem to be too much turnover. I have seen the same ladies working there for years(even when they were located next to the Hi-Pointe). Parking is available in the back(tight parking spots) or on Clayton road right out front.

Just a Subway doing what it’s supposed to do.

Horrible customer service. Although they say they close at 9pm that’s not true. I showed up here at 8:45 to all the food completely packed away. When my boyfriend tried to order a meatball sub, they told him they are«out» when in fact they just didn’t want to take back out any of the food. When the employee saw me looking at my clock to double check that is is in fact 8:45, she told me that their watch says it’s 9pm. When I pointed out that it is really 8:45 she just responded with, well our clock says it’s nine. Apparently, they can just forward time. After the clear indication that they did not want to serve us, we left without ordering anything.

Absolutely terrible. My girlfriend and I attended this location over 15 minutes prior to closing and were promptly met with the two female associates muttering under their breath clearly upset that we even walked in. They then told us we were out of whatever it was we wanted to order, and then decided that it was a good idea to argue with us after we checked the time on our phones. Keep in mind that we said NOTHING, we simply pulled out our cell phones and checked that we didn’t walk in 5 minutes or less prior to closing. We immediately left, completely dumbfounded that those events had even taken place. It was honestly, a bad bad bad experience. This location, and the two women who were both working on this particular night have a history of being argumentative, rude, and flat out terrible. I won’t ever be back, and I really truly hope that you will heed my warning and completely avoid this location, and honestly Subway in general until they decided to develop an identity that values a modicum of service acumen. p. s. The 5 star review featured here seems to be of a completely different location, so I advise you take that in to consideration as well.

My kids and I LOVE the Subway in South County Center. Not the one IN the mall but in the strip mall outside. These guys and gals are the friendliest I have seen. They always seem to be having a good day and when you ask for extra of something they give it to you. We will go out of our way to get to this Subway.

I think everybody knows about Subway by now, between the Jared ads and the product placements on NBC’s Chuck. What you may not know is that most locations in St. Louis suck, especially the one on Hampton just South of Forest Park(Correction, Hampton is good now, new manager fixed the problems that location had). If you want friendly service and a properly made sandwich, you need to get back on Hwy 40 and head West, take the next exit(Clayton & Skinker) and go straight just a few blocks to find Subway on the right, across from the hospital. The employees at this location are friendly and fast. They don’t give you the stare of death when you ask them to do something strange, like putting your veggies on before putting the sandwich in the oven. They’re the same crew that worked at the closed location next to Del Taco on McCausland.
