We came for the shrimp and crawfish boil and I am so glad we did! Booking the Saint Boogie band was the first right decision, but it didn’t stop there. I don’t eat with my hands and don’t peel my food, but even I finished my shrimp, potatoes, and corn on the cob; it was so tasty! The drinks were tasty but strong. Julia and Stephanie were so personable, yet still aware of all customers. And most importantly, the entire staff was concerned that we, and everyone else was having the time of their life, and I know we did! Will be back at every opportunity!

This is one of the best Tiki bars you’ll find – and I’ve been to my fair share. They have a really cool divey vibe and the drinks are phenomenal. If you can visit Taha’a and just enjoy one, I think there might be something wrong with you. There are just too many great cocktails to limit yourself to a single glass.

They have a great Happy Hour! Drinks are creative and taste yummy. I have tried several different drinks and they are all great!!! Menu is limited but tasty. I liked their wings, fresh cut French fries with aoli sauce, and their ragoon was also yummy. They host paint nites which are fun.

I’m obsessed with anything tiki, and I love that St. Louis has it’s own tiki bar! Drinks are always delicious and I love their $ 5 drink specials as well. If you plan on drinking more than a drink or two, get a volcano — super fun! You can’t really go wrong with anything on their food menu, either. I love the grilled chicken skewers! I will say though that the music doesn’t really match the setting. I can understand playing upbeat, current/classic music on busy nights but on nights when there’s just a few people around, why not bust out the island tunes?

Stephanie, the bar manager has completely changed my opinion about Taha Tiki. She is charismatic, always smiling, and completely welcoming. Total 180 from my first time there. The food is still small, but it is better. The service is also much better. The bartenders are able to talk you through the rums. If you’re like me and enjoy the less sweet rums, they’ll help you out with that as well. Patio still rocks and the ambience is groovy. Would recommend anytime.

Good, strong drinks and food was pretty decent too. Used a groupon with no issues. Pretty nice outside area with cool patio and fire pit

I feel like the best Tiki Bars are far away from the sea. They’re an escape — if only for a bit — from reality. Last Thursday night I needed a break. I had been to Tahas soon after it opened, and I was pleasantly surprised even then — sweet staff, well-mixed drinks and the vibe was headed the right direction. They were a Polynesian style bar in the vein of Trader Vic’s. Last week was even better — two bars — three seating areas — a fire pit and a patio upstairs — fantastic traditional tiki cocktails — traditional tiki music — and the ladies behind the bar made me want to come back too. When I try a new tiki bar I always get a Zombie. Sure, it’s four runs, brandy and juice, But there are nuances to a Zombie, and I’ll bet the mixologists at the first tiki bar in MO aren’t getting a lot of requests for it. Perfect. I only had one. I only needed one. Two would have been the beginning of an evening and I needed to close my night down. So my suggestion to Unilocalers: Go. Go and have a drink. Not a piña colada, not a margarita, but at least a Mai tai, maybe something more. Maybe a zombie. Listen to the music, slip away for a short while, and be grateful that tiki culture is reemerging.

I kept peeping the back/tiered patio/deck every time I’d cut through or stop in at the Grove and finally decided to have a Sunday Funday night cap here. On a side note, Sunday nights they have salsa dancing. That aside(I dance but not salsa), what a great spot for a cocktail on the upper deck and an excellent sunset spot as well. The menu looked to appetizing to skip out on food and though I wasn’t hungry I had to try some apps. The humus and salsa were very good! I’m looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. I heard the drink selection, especially beer, is limited but not true at all. Beyond a ton of custom cocktails($ 7 – 10 which is on par for custom cocktails in my experience, you’ll pay more for a lot less across the street @ Sanctuaria), they have plenty of imports plus all the budwater products also. I’m going back this weekend, cya there.

Went to this place to check it out. I will say for their happy hour we will be back! We ordered their specialty happy hour cocktail for $ 5 and were not disappointed! I would suggest the painkiller especially if you enjoy piña coladas– the dead mans chest was also pretty good! We also ordered their chicken nachos with the jalapeño sauce that were half off! These were on point and want to go back specifically for these! We also tried the sliders but the meat was slightly burnt! Despite that we will be returning!

Alright the Good the Bad and The Ugly and LDF! The Good– staff was very helpful, friendly, cool ambience. Good unique cocktail selection. Semi cool outside bar. The Bad– there were out of 2 – 3 items on their very small menu which didn’t really leave to many options. They were also out of chicken! How do you run out of chicken? Lol The Ugly– beer selection was horrible at best. The Low Dow Foo– if they want to make it they need to cater to their ideal client and blend great ambience, unique cocktail menu, great craft beer selection both locally and globally and expand their menu. Cool concept but they are not firing on all cylinders and our experience there on Saturday reflected that. I’m not quite sure if we will be back in less we hear of those changes.

Decided to give it one more try under the new ownership. Unfortunately, they’ve decided to take this place even further away from classic tiki. It’s a decent spot to get a drink, but calling this place Tiki is like calling Taco Bell an authentic Mexican restaurant — the rock music, TV’s playing baseball games, the diner-ish menus… none of it really works. There is an awesome revival of classic tiki bars and tiki mixology happening across the country — too bad St. Louis continues to miss out.

Stopped in before a concert next door and because I knew they lit drinks on fire :) really really strong tasting drinks, even after the flames were extinguished. Egg rolls were good. Fries and fish tacos were ok. Lots of hot spice on everything. Cheesecake ragoon were my fav. Limbo contest. Upbeat crowd. Not too busy. Great atmosphere. I will be back.

Went to Taha’a Tiki last night on impulse, and wow, it was fun! I’d never heard of the place, or been to a tiki bar, but it was about what I was expecting, and in some ways better. It was cute. It was clean. They had the most comfortable bistro chairs I’ve ever used. The prices were a little high. There was a lot of rum in my delicious drink, the Jolly Roger, but there was also a whole lot of ice. I feel that $ 7 would have been reasonable and $ 8 still fair, but $ 9 was quite high, and prevented me from ordering another drink. Our drinks were adorable, though, so I guess I can add a dollar to the value there. There’s not a lot to eat at Taha’a Tiki, and especially not for a vegetarian, so I went with deep friend oreos. Our server was friendly and didn’t rush us out the door or nag us to order more drinks when it became obvious that we spent the last hour drinking water and talking enthusiastically about this and that. I’d love to hear some islandy music at Taha’a Tiki and see more food options at the menu at happy hour in a couple of months when I can wear my own islandy garb.

So excited I finally got to go here! I’ve heard such great things about it and went to check it out after the Lyft launch party down the street. The building and décor is awesome. It’s straight up tiki-town. I haven’t been to any other tiki bar before and have nothing to compare it to, but it’s perfectly tacky. The huge bar makes you feel like you’re hanging out in the sun. I had the fish tacos and one of their cocktails(I can’t remember the name). I was a little disappointed in the fish tacos. You get 2 for $ 7 and their pretty tiny/not very good. I mean, I love fish tacos so I liked them but they weren’t filling or particularly tasty. I also tried the chips and edamame hummus. I loved it but they really don’t give you very many chips. What they lacked in food they made up in perfectly strong cocktails! Yes, they are all like $ 9 but they’re big and strong! You only need 1 to get the night rolling… I hear they have a fishbowl one. I imagine one of those could get 2 people smashed. If I come back again, it will be for the drinks and atmosphere… not the grub. I almost forgot! They have a nice little patio outback where the tacos are made. This is a great bar and awesome addition to The Grove.

I’d say I’m a fan of Taha’a Twisted Tiki. I certainly can’t think of anything to compare it to, so it was nice to try a unique place. I’m certainly a fan of any drink menu in which every cocktail has 3 – 4 different kinds of liquor in it. I’m also a fan of the option of sharing a giant flaming cocktail bowl with my friends. Speaking of flaming, I was even a fan of their patio in the winter, adorned with flaming tiki torches and a wonderful fire pit. Finally, I was also a major fan of the fantastic service we received throughout the night. I liked this place because it doesn’t go over the top with the theme and it’s not pretentious. Some things to note: This is first and foremost a bar that happens to serve food. I don’t recommend going there to primarily dine. Drinks are pricey at $ 9 a pop and, depending on the type of glass they serve it in, can go fast. I see it more as a stop for a few hours during the night, not as a place I would sit and stay at the entire night. We tried lots of drinks and I’d say my favorite was the Suffering Bastard because it was the least sweet of everything we tried. Yes, it can get expensive… of course, you could just order the Zombie and probably two would get you properly schnockered for the entire night for the low price of about $ 18. So there’s that.
