For most of us, insurance companies are those companies that we HAVE to have to drive or own a home. Many of us rarely use their services. My home was damaged during the recent storm that passed through St. Louis. I had a lovely hole in my roof and water was pouring in. I didn’t even know where to begin and, naturally, this happened on a Saturday evening when most businesses are closed. Who does the tarp thing? What do I do about the water damage? My blood pressure skyrocketed. So, I started with the only thing I did know. I know who my agent is. I called. Got their recording. I left a voicemail for Tami and then pushed the button to get their 24 hour hotline. They were so inundated with calls that I was eventually told to call back. BP went up a bit more. And then, miracle of miracles, my agent had checked her voicemail in case there was anyone urgently trying to get help. Bless her. She called me and within about a half hour, the tarp guy was there. The next day the dry-out people were there. I got all of the info I needed to get things going from Tami. Over the next few days, as a few more problems developed, Tami and the marketing rep, Todd James, continued to make sure that everything I needed was being taken care of. Todd took time to meet with me to answer any questions I had about the inspection by the adjuster and encouraged me to call if I had any further questions and he continued to call every couple of days to make sure I was getting the help I needed. I have been impressed with State Farm’s responsiveness and very much recommend Tami to anyone shopping around for insurance. You don’t need them until you need them and, as in my case, boy did I need them and they responded.
