Best eggs Benedict I have ever had. The crab was a perfect twist to a breakfast classic. Well done.

One of these places were you know it will be a one and done. I was trying to define the place in my mind and through the menu. The place did not have a clear mission statement. Maybe French, maybe Spanish, maybe American. There were two different potatoes French fries and pomme mashed. It has always bugged me when they use pomme for potato when it is really French for apple. Whew got that off my chest. Pomme is apple Pomme de terre potato. So what did I have? I had a brisket burger with bacon, cheese, house sauce. Asked for onions but I did not detect any. Not a deal breaker. The French fries were served with the house catsup. Oh my it is catsup with curry/cumin mixed in. One taste and I wanted good old bottled catsup with the 57 on the label. Mrs. K. ordered their fried chicken. Came with 5 pieces of chicken and a bunch of batter. Their batter had a slight spice or hotness. Neither one of us wanted to take the leftovers. The burger was really good service good.

OMG. The food selection made it so hard to decide what to get. The decisions at my table of 6 was between the amazing looking burger and the fried chicken. I decided to get the chicken after much deliberation. I was happy I did. The chicken was so juicy and it was not grease. Our server Drew was on point. My drink never went empty and neither did any of my friends. There would be nothing I would change. The ambiance was great. The music was different in a good way. Overall I was glad that we decided to go and I look forward to a return trip.

Went for a Christmas dinner with the parents and In laws. There was 8 of us and had a great time. Our server was great! She knew what she was doing and my husband is a foodie so he wanted her to pick a few things that where good on the menu. She didn’t disappoint my husband loved what she picked. I got the burger, fries and home made ketchup. All was great and everyone liked the ketchup. Yes when they heard it was home made everyone wanted to try it because I was saying how good it was. The restaurant is what was Harry’s. They fixed it up nice, really like the seating.

Taking the family to dinner and then a nice evening at the Botanical Gardens. Decided to have dinner at Three Flags Tavern. I have been here for lunch and remember it being a bit expensive but worth it. We are walk in but on a Saturday reservations are recommended. We were seated at the bar area but the bar area here would put most others to shame. Nice and quaint… I’m going to order the Fried Chicken and get fries on the side. I also ordered a tea and it is fresh brewed. The chicken was very crispy and there was plenty on the plate. Five pieces to be exact. It was juicy and tasty. My only regret is that it was not served with Chalula hot sauce. They had Crystal. It was served with pickle, biscuit and mashed potato. All very nice. The fries we great and served with a cumin ketchup. Excellent! All in all it was a great meal and the price was not bad for dinner. We definitely need a to go box!

Old world bar that displays the history of the settlement of STL. One wall has a HUGE map of the midwest and locations of the rivers and Indians that lived here. It was kind of cool to take time and look around at the different items. The food here was good, but the value for the food portions is poor. I got two small plates and left still hungry. My brother had their chicken and while it offered more for your $, the breading was a little overcooked. My wife’s burger was pretty good. Service was fine. On Mondays they have discounts on certain drinks and we tried the two that were on special while we were at the bar. They both were hand crafted and very good.

Very cute & cozy décor. Upscale but still casual. The food was all very good. We ate brunch. Will be back to try lunch or dinner.

Don’t let exterior mislead you. Once inside, Three Flags is very charming and sitting by fire pit on a nice day is a great way to while away a Sunday afternoon. We love it for some Canadian treats: peameal bacon and poutine. Oh! And Bloody Caesars! But truly everything we’ve had has been delicious.

My wife and I tried Three Flags Dec 12 and we were both disappointed. We got there around 6:30 and the place was mostly empty, but the hostess seated us next to another couple when she could have seated us just about anywhere and given both sets of diners a bit more privacy. Overall, the atmosphere there was nice. Wine and beer list was decent. The specialty cocktails looked interesting, but we passed. We ordered the mussel appetizer, which was good, but not great. The broth was almost«beefy». Quite different than the lemony/buttery/herby preparations that I’m more used to. Which brings me to my next point, the waitress we had gets an A+ for being polite and attentive, but she really struggled at explaining/describing the menu items. Maybe she was new? For dinner we ordered shrimp and grits and the fried chicken. The shrimp came out with the heads on. Some people may prefer this rustic presentation however it would have been nice to have a heads up on this particular aspect of the dish(pun intended). The grits were a bit under cooked, and the salsa verde did seem a bit out of place with this dish. The chicken came out of the kitchen HOT and crunchy. The chicken was delicious, crunchy crisp crust, nicely seasoned, with just a hint of herb flavor. Also a huge portion(of chicken). The mashed potatoes that came out with the chicken were bland and not warm. I only took one bite. The biscuit was also meh… I really don’t like writing negative reviews, but alas, when I reflect on the experience I had, I would have a tough time recommending this place to a friend. To me, 1 star means I have an axe to grind, 2 stars is not recommended, 3 stars is recommended with reservations, 4 is recommended, 5 means I’m going back ASAP. My review here is 2 stars. Not sure how this place has a 4 star average.

Very cool little spot off the beaten path. Came on a weeknight so the crowd was minimal, which I enjoyed. Had the lobster croquettes to start, which were killer. Highly recommended. For dinner I got the fries chicken, which was recommended from the server. I have been jaded by the old standard as I was disappointed with the chicken. It was good but not great. I was also very surprised when the bill came out as it was way more expensive than I anticipated. Décor/atmosphere was great.

Not only is this place delicious(brussel sprouts, fried chicken and brisket burger were ONPOINT), but the owner?/host? guy is super accomodating – lit up a fire for us out back even though no one had been out there and the weather would’ve advised against it. Definitely recommended. Oh, and those pickles. Get as many of them as you can.

Went maybe 4 months ago for mah wiiiiiife’s bday and it was better. A 4 fasho, but I didn’t update Went tonight with in laws and food was 4 service was a 5 — truly outstanding. Cuz I’m a big jerk I’m blanking on her name but she had a little barbell eyebrow ring. She just rocked. And as we were leaving and talking about how great she was she chased us down because I forgot my boxed up half-burger. Mixed salad was great. Warm mushroom salad was outstanding. Burger is pretty great. Beef wellington was great too. I recommend the Big Muddy Vanilla Porter. Excellent. They also gave us a couple complimentary desserts cuz it was my MILs bday in a few days, and nearly both our and my in laws anniversary. Manager guy was also attentive and made sure to ask us how we liked everything. They really got their shit together on service. Very impressed.

I will not go back to Three Flags Tavern. Very, very disappointed in tonight’s experience. I brought three out-of-town co-workers to Three Flags, thinking it would be a great example of a local gem. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all… it was an embarrassment. First of all, when we walked through the front door, we were hit with a very strong odor, reminiscent of an old folks’ home. Despite our better judgement, we forgave that issue and decided to stay. We ordered tacos as an appetizer and never received them. The waitress just forgot to order them… And it wasn’t even that busy. My boss(you know… the guy that’s in charge of my annual reviews and pay raises) got a bad oyster… so bad that he walked across the street to Walgreen’s in search of something to make him purge the oyster to avoid food poisoning. Trust me… you’re way better off going to Peacemaker for oysters. And then our entrees were very slow to arrive… which is why it was so hard to imagine why my pork chop came out raw. Of course, I sent it back, and as quickly as the waitress returned, there is no other answer than… they tossed it in the microwave. At least it was no longer raw, I guess. The lobster rolls were good, according to those in our party that had them, but for $ 24, I’d expect it to be bigger than the size of a hot dog bun. Again… you’re way better off going to Peacemaker for lobster rolls, too. I had been to Three Flags before for brunch and had a great experience. But after tonight and after reading other recent negative reviews, I’m afraid Three Flags had turned a bad corner. Unfortunately, I will never go there again and would caution anyone else to think twice… there are too many other good options in St. Louis. Go try Peacemaker instead… I wish we had.

Took my parents here Saturday night. Made a reservation but it wasn’t too busy so that may not have been necessary. Just barely got in under the wire for the Oyster special so my guy and my dad split a dozen. They enjoyed them and the homemade sauces that accompanied them. We enjoyed our meals as well. Mom and I had lobster rolls, dad had the salmon special and my guy had the lamb burger. We also split an order of the Cauliflower Broccoli Gratin. Everything had good flavor. No complaints but just not my favorite place to eat.

I wish I could give 3.5 stars so alas I’m rounding up. We popped in here Sunday after church. From the outside it seemed closed as there was no traffic in and out. It also seemed divey. We almost left but then were too hungry to make a different decision. I love the décor. It’s totally my style. It was rustic and modern and gray. The food was great. The service was okay. The server was interesting… He over poured and sloppily poured the coffee so that it also filled the saucer. No apology or notice. So, I dropped cold coffee into my food each time I took a sip. I would go back for drinks. While the food was good it wouldn’t leave me dying to go back.

I admit, I don’t often give a 5-star review on my first visit, but I was blown away by Three Flags Tavern’s service, food and atmosphere. Don’t judge this place by its outside appearance. We had a lovely dinner here and I will definitely keep it in mind for special occasions. Get the brisket burger. Just get it! This burger is top notch — literally dripping with awesome meat flavor. I also got to top it with a blue cheese from their featured cheese plate! I could not have been happier with this burger. We also tried the NY Strip Steak Diane, which was an excellent value for what you receive. It was cooked perfectly and I loved the side we chose with it — cheesy grits topped with crispy swiss chard. The service was fantastic and they had an excellent wine list. You gotta give this place a try!

The ambiance inside is very rustic and nice and completely unexpected given the exterior. The service is impeccable, even with us simply sitting at high top at the bar. We came on a Monday and tried the 2 discounted cocktail specials. We had an elderflower margarita spin off which was so refreshing and the violette fizz. Both very good but I am a tequila girl so I preferred the first. The lobster beignets were tasty, though needed salt and I wish there was a little less moisture inside. Perhaps too much lobster and less breading on the inside as I would like, but that’s a me thing. The mini monte Cristo was AMAZING. I didn’t eat much of the jelly that accompanies it. So so so good. The burger was exactly how a burger should be. Very much appreciated that. And the fries, though extra, were just to my liking with each single one being very crunchy. Will be back.

I can’t believe how many times I have passed by this place and not given it a try! After seeing that Three Flags made the top 100 restaurants in St. Louis, I just knew I had to go. My friend and I came here on a Monday, which is when I would recommend you give them a shot. Mondays from 4PM to close they have two cocktails(which they switch every week) for $ 6, $ 4.50 draft beers, and $ 1 off bottled beers. I’m currently abstaining from ETOH, but will definitely have to try out their cocktails next time. In terms of their menu, they have a decent selection. I went with the server’s recommendation and had both the lobster beignets and the Monte Cristo. Both were delicious. In terms of service, our server was pretty attentive and very friendly. Lastly, the décor was great and I appreciated the mood lighting. I will most certainly be back.

Mixed feelings about this restaurant. Service was… strange. We did not have a reservation, so we were placed on a waiting list and had a seat up front. We fought for a little space at the bar just to place an order for drinks and sat back down. Two middle-aged couples came in after us– one couple was promptly offered a drink menu and described the restaurant concept and told«we’ll seat you shortly,» and the other couple was found seats very quickly at the bar. No effort was made to get us menus, accommodate us at the bar, or essentially acknowledge us. I will say, the average age in the restaurant was a solid 10 – 15 years older than me [I’m not that young], but we easily spent as much money as the other diners. I liked the map on the wall and the general travel-based décor. Our server was pleasant, and we got our food in a timely fashion. I tried the: Lobster beignets– sadly bland. The accompanying dipping liquid/sauce was completely flavorless. Not much meat in the beignets. Monte Cristo– Better than the beignets! Such a simple concept, but flavorful and comforting. Shrimp/scallops/ham and grits– excellent dish, flavorful and filling. I wanted to like this restaurant more, and the food was good, but I’m not sure if I feel very comfortable going back.
