Extremely helpful and friendly staff. I’m not extremely educated in hockey, and they haven’t tried over-selling me gear for my 4 year old son.

First time I was here I noticed the guys sharping my skates were making fun of them because they are cheapy pair of skates since I don’t have the extra money for good skates. It also seemed like a hassle to answer a question I had about the different radius’s for skates. So I was hesitant to go back today but it’s on my way to the rink so I stopped in. Much better experience this time.

Shopping at Total Hockey is typically a positive experience. The staff is friendly and knowledge. Zach in particular has helped me quite a bit with skate issues. My only complaint would be that this particular location never has the size/style we need. They are very good about shipping from their warehouse or another location. It’s just kind of a pain to have to visit the store twice to get what we need. Also, their team sales guy, T.J., is awesome. After a delay in receiving an order, T.J. personally delivered it to my home! We live in the same area but he certainly didn’t have to do that! Way to go T.J.!! Thank you!

My second time coming in to this location. The first time was a couple of years ago but it seemed nothing has changed since I’ve been here last. They still have a lot of hockey equipments, I saw some clearance skates which were sort of calling my name but I had to walk away since mine are still good. Anyway, I came here for a sharpening. This place came highly recommended for skate sharpening and I honestly had no idea where else to go. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. The staff were really friendly. When I came in, the guy at the counter saw I had some skates on hand and asked what I needed. He was busy with a costumer so he directed me to where the other guys were or offered to take my skates back there after he is done with the person checking out at the counter. I walked to the back and found the two guys who quickly took my skates and told me that it will be done in 10 minutes. He also asked how I wanted it sharpened which I have no clue right now since I am still getting the feel of things as far as skating goes. He said he’ll just do a normal sharpening and since it makes no difference to me, I just agreed. In the middle of the store is a little seating area where they have the NHL channel tuned on(of course!). I waited there for my skates and when they were done, the gentleman brought them over to me and rang me up. Easy as pie and the experience was quite pleasant.

I ordered a bunch of stuff online and returned the items I didn’t want to this store. Their online site is super easy to use and contains a wide selection of new and clearance items. Prices are comparable to other stores. My in-store return process was simple… no hassling. This makes me happy, since I prefer to order a few different sizes of the items I want online and then choose the one I want and return the rest. The store itself is pretty well stocked, and well organized.

This place was fantastic for me. I’m a goalie and was out of the game for about 7 years. I brought a goalie helmet with no cage and some padding missing, and said«help.» The guy at the shop was extremely helpful with little to no information and was able to fix me up with a new cage for $ 50 and no labor or parts charges, just paid for the cage. They couldn’t help with the padding, but did have about 3 recommendations for people I could contact to get some help with specialty padding. I didn’t buy anything else, but based on some browsing has a nice selection of goalie equipment, and what seemed like an extremely wide variety of sticks, skates, and every other hockey accessory you could possibly want.

I have been in a few times before and had better experiences. This time I was in the market for Vapor X40X50 or X60 skates. The kid that waited on me asked what skates do you want as I was looking at the wall of skates. I told him the 3 different ones in the Vapor line that I was looking for and what I currently had. He went to the back room for 30 seconds and came back saying we don’t have the X60s in that size. I asked what about X50s. 30 seconds later he came back and said the same thing, so I asked did you look for the 40s while you were back there and he didn’t so he went back again. I asked if they had these in the smaller of the 2 sizes that he told me I was since he told me I was either a 8.5 or 9 size in skates and he went through the same process again looking for all 3 skates. Finally he said we might have those in the warehouse do you want to buy those. I am not really a big fan of buying $ 400 skates without trying them on first or at least a pair similar. I have had better experiences in the past and since they are one of only stores with a decent selection I will probably still come back but will definitely check Johnny Macs first before coming back in here. Johhny Macs had what I wanted and they price match everything and have much better service.

Rich rounded up some sticks for me from all the MO stores. Great job to him. Redeemed Total Hockey for me a little bit(after my last visit, which I didn’t Unilocal, the manager gave me a hard time when I wanted skates sharpened and said he’d «get to them when he could, but he’s been busy all day»). Duh, busy is good it means you have customers! I’ll forget about that dullard and stick with my recent experience.
