Top to bottom, best Chinese delivery experience I’ve had in STL. The woman on the phone was incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was delivered piping hot in about 20 minutes, but a delivery driver who was also incredibly pleasant. The food is fantastic. The potstickers were exactly the right consistency, and the shrimp fried rice tasted fresh and light, not heavy with soy sauce and oil like most places. Maybe a little more expensive than your average cheap Chinese joint, but I’m not going to dock it for that because it was definitely worth it. We just moved to U City, and I’ve been super excited to try all the Chinese places along Olive that deliver to our new place, but all the others are going to have to be pretty spectacular to live up to Wonton King.

I would give this place 4 stars for dim sum in St. Louis if it weren’t for the fact that I feel like I just got ripped off upon paying the bill. More on that in the next paragraph. The dim sum is decent(some standout, some not at all), nothing to write home about. For example, the short ribs were great — fatty, meaty, and flavorful. But the beef rice noodle(cheung fun) was overly thick and not silky. The shrimp dumpling was super plump, but not very flavorful. The fried taro’s innards were awesome, but the outer fried shell was soggy/not crispy. Overall, it was decent dim sum and I’ll take what I can get in St. Louis… until we went to pay. $ 50(incl tip) for dim sum for approx 8 dishes for 2 people is outrageous and it is the most I have ever paid(per dim sum) in my life anywhere in the world. I am honestly baffled. Almost everything we ordered were of the«medium» and«large» categories despite us getting the most standard and basic dim sum dishes. We only had one«small» dish on the bill and I’m not sure what it was — could be our tea(!). Dim sum regulars, I hope you can understand why I put an exclamation point there. It’s a total rip off and it’s borderline insulting. It was packed, so clearly they can continue to charge however much they want. But we don’t expect to go back again. Fwiw, The staff is efficient and fast and I wish them the best.

Best Chinese food in St Louis! We have been going to the pizza place across the street for years and never knew Won Ton King was there. We LOVE this place. It is always great food and the staff is always friendly and is willing to make recommendations when we can not make up our minds.

I will admit that this was my first Dim Sum experience, however I was promised and lead by a friend of mine who swore that this was the authentic experience and let me just say that he didn’t let me and the rest of my group down. While you can order off a regular menu, our group was here for Dim Sum and I will say that I was slightly nervous about some of the offerings I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of the dishes available. Anyways when we first arrived we were greeted by a friendly woman, who made sure that we understood how the Dim Sum process worked and helped us understand some of the dishes, the reason I say some is that our host asked her to avoid telling us what some if the items were until after we tried them. To her credit, she would have happily told us if we had asked. Anyways the friendly staff started circling the dining room with several carts filled with items, it was up to the table to decide if we wanted an order, if so it was added to your order sheet. After a while our table was full of a variety of items, I will say that I wasn’t the adventurous type and tended to stick with the more safe options. My favorite dish was the steamed shrimp and pork balls, and the braised spare ribs, however everything I tried was delicious. The staff here is super friendly, and I even learned that all of the items are made in house unlike some other places in the area which might get some of their items delivered frozen. Overall the meal left everyone full and after we split up the bill the price was only about $ 15/person, however this will vary greatly based on the number of items you order. Arrive early, because if you wait later the dining room will fill up fast, by the time we left on Sunday it was a full house! While personally I wouldn’t have went out of my way to try Dim Sum, I am glad that I did and I can say that knowing what I know now I would gladly return, and best of all I now know what to order!

The best Chinese food in Saint Louis. Had the dim sum with a friend and it was excellent. The and Mo poa bean looks and is excellent. Inexpensive and joy. They could use a better beer selection.

I’ve been on a dim sum kick lately and so I find myself driving to no place other than Wonton King. But to be completely honest, the *quality here is probably better than some of their competitors. However, every time I come by, they don’t have my favorite fried shrimp balls — so variety seems to be hindered. Another thing that irks me is that there are no prices anywhere except on the main menu. Tip: get there when they’re opening, especially on Sunday. I know 11am is kind of a late opening but get there early or you’ll be in line. Overall a 3.5 and still my go-to spot

Today we ordered delivery and it was fast and good. This is the best Chinese in St. Louis!!! I can’t believe how good it is. My daughter(almost 2 years old) loves the lomein and General chicken. This is the best fried rice I’ve ever had. We’ll be ordering from here more often.

Updating my review based on the past few times I’ve been here. As stated before this is our to go to dim sum place! Ling is still super, bubbly, always smiling friendly gal. Now if the rest of her team was like that this review would still have a 4 potentially 5 star. The past couple times we have been here we ordered the black bean sauce muscles and there’s literally less than 10 actual mussels in the dish but a ton of mussels shells. They’re pretty much cheating you out on an almost 15 $ dish. Also, the food has been extremely super greasy. Thank god for hot tea to flush it down! But after eating here makes me race to the restroom… I think next time we order food here I will tell them to not use so much oil.

Had lunch with Kitty wife earlier this afternoon. Haven’t been here in years and the food was great. They also serve Dim Sum every day from 11am to 3 pm. I think I blew the waiters mind when I told him I want ‘Bo Lei’ in Cantonese for a certain type of tea. I guess I earned the chopsticks instead of the fork for saying that; I arrived earlier and waited for Kitty to arrive and the waiter had asked me what do I want to drink.

The BEST Chinese restaurant in the entire region. I grew up in Southeast Asia and KNOW Asian food. Their food is genuinely Chinese, not the Americanized type of Chinese food many Chinese places tend to «dumb» themselves down to. Lots of Chinese people come here, which shows that their food is authentic. Their dim sum is the best and even though I don’t like to base my reviews on fried rice, theirs is about the tastiest in St. Louis. The proprietors are friendly as well. I’ve been coming here for the last 16 years and have never been disappointed.

I love eating here for lunch during the work week. They have fantastic lunch specials and the staff here are super friendly. I highly recommend you pick something off the traditional lunch menu. I have enjoyed several dishes off that menu and it has always been amazing and they make it better than the other items you find on the lunch menu. My wife and I grabbed dinner here last night as we just moved to U City this weekend. My wife loved her meal although I would probably order something different next time. The chicken wings were rather bland but we are hoping next time they can make them spicy or something. The Crab Rangoon is on point as was the veggie fried rice.

Quality food, great service. It was like dining with family. The(I assume) owner kept coming by and interacting with our 2 year old. We felt very welcome having a toddler at dinner with us. They were well prepared at handling our little tornado of disaster. Food is what really matters and everything we ordered was presented well and tasted great.

excellent shrimp dumplings! all things shrimp on the dim sum menu were delicious! The ambiance leaves much to be desired. The staff is very nice. Pricing on the dim sum remains a mystery until you pay at the end.

I have been coming to Wonton King since I moved here three years ago. This restaurant has come closest to matching my tastes. This is a great place for dinner or dim sum. The owners are really great people and always chat with the customers. The dim sum is pretty similar to those you find in DC or NY. Restaurant is kind of small so if you plan on going for dim sum get there early. The line forms fast. The carts going around vary in speed but mostly slow. If there is something you see or like don’t hesitate to order. I’ve gotten take out here quite a few times and the dry beef chow fun is one of my repeat favorites. I’d give it a fourth star if it could figure out how to speed up dim sum rotations.

I have to say, this is some legit dim sum I haven’t had for awhile! It’s actually better then the my common spot I went to nyc Chinatown, except with a little less variety(which doesn’t really matter). Food very fresh! Shrimps are huge and meaty and no weird fishy taste nor mushy. I don’t know why is that hard to do for a lot of restaurants but this sure fulfill the standard! They didn’t do the old school cart pushing but everything we had was absolutely fresh off the stove. Another very impressive thing to do. This did slowdown the service a little but after all you don’t come to get dim sum and rush to do other stuff. Service is very prompt and polite. The owner would go around and greet the customers. Love and will definitely go back!

Great hole in the wall type spot that is über popular around the weekend noon hour. Seriously, get here early because it’s a busy spot. Lots of seating with just enough room for the carts to get through. Upon being seated, order your congee(get the pork and egg — it’s boss!) and your tea. It takes a bit to get it and the dim sum entrees come out quickly so it works out well. Standard dim sum fare and all was very good! The Char Sui Bao was amazing and the Siu Mai was magnificent. Just about everything that we tried was good and the portions were just right. The dessert options were great as well. The egg tarts were good enough that we got an extra to go and the taro sesame balls were great as well. The bill came to about $ 70 for a ton of food for 4 adults and 3 kiddos. The service was great, the food was excellent and there was just enough grime to confirm the place is legit! Well worth checking out.

Wonton king is a solid Chinese food place in the area. It is close /in the«china town» of St Louis. I asked a couple friends what was good here and they said Wontons, but I thought they were joking so I didn’t get them. But seriously, Apparently the wontons are good, so next time I go, I will definitely try them. I didn’t come here during the dimsum so this review is for the dinner menu. Everything we ordered was pretty good, got to try the congee, fried intestine, and thick stirfry noodle. The fried intestine was a dry mix with decent seasoning and comes with a nice salt/pepper mix that you dip the intestine into which made it even more tasty. The congee was a good appetizer rice soup dish definitely worth trying if you are a fan of that kind of stuff The thick stirfry noodle wasn’t that greasy with excellent taste and balance of noodle /meat, quite good. Overall this place has a decent amount of seating and the service was good so, definitely a Chinese place that I will go back to. Definitely will update this review when I get to try the wontons at wonton king

I enjoyed coming there for weekend brunches(dim sum) because they serve some of the most authentic Cantonese food in St Louis. It is not exaggerated to say that they have the best dim sum and I really love their food, until we found a broken bobby pin,(or something like segments of a wire) in their custard tart. That day my friend and I were having dim sum, and he told me something clogged his esophagus. He swallowed it after some first aid. We found there were more broken pieces left in the food. He did not want to make a big scene so we paid the bill and left. But I probably need a while to forget this incident before my next visit.
