It was cold yesterday morning, and I was running late for work when I discovered that all four tires on my car were running low. Frustrated and a bit frazzled, I pulled into the gas station not looking forward to having to check and fill the air in my tires. A very nice gentleman, Erwin /Ervin(sp?) quickly offered to assist me and do my work for me, without any tip. This is the kind of customer service that makes me loyal to a small business. Thank you for your small act of kindness — it is much appreciated.

I ran over a nail and took my car to a close by national tire chain for a fix and/or tire replacement. The chain told me they would not be able to patch the tire and I would have to purchase an entire set of new tires because they could not sell me one tire with differing tread. My lease was almost over and I did not want to replace all the tires, so I took my car to Woodards and they looked at my tire and immediately said they could patch it, and they completed the patch within 30 minutes. The cost was $ 28 total. I can’t say enough good things about Woodards.

Dennis and George who run Woodard’s are great people. They’re very honest and they always do a great job. If you’re not a car person, they don’t talk down to you. We have been going there for 30 years.

George and the repair crew here does a great job of taking care of your auto repair needs, always fair and honest. A real neighborhood old world gas and repair shop where the staff does it with professionalism.

Had 4 tires installed by them and then had an issue with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. I took the car back 4 times because the TPMS warning light would not go out. Took the car to the dealer and found out they damaged one of the sensors and now they will not pay for it. Do yourself a favor and find a professional to install your tires. I sure hope this is not the way they conduct their business if they accidentally damage anything when doing repairs. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable shop.

Woodard’s is a neighborhood gas and auto-service store that stays true to the customer and community focus that is missing from a lot of syndicated and franchised businesses. I had been looking for someone to service my car as it had been making terrible noises for the past two years and I couldn’t find someone I trusted(I’m a law student who drove out from California). My classmate and friend took a look at it and diagnosed it as my power steering pump and belt. After taking it to Woodard’s for an oil change, they diagnosed the same. They tightened the belt for me, free of charge, and filled me in on the rest of my car’s issues(it’s an ancient 94 mercury villagers with 200k+ miles). There was no hard or soft sell. He just told me what he thought the best course of action was for me(which didn’t involve me paying him for anything more). It was slightly more expensive than your average oil change, being roughly $ 40, but for the service, competence and peace of mind by using someone you can trust, I’ll take my car here for as long as I’m in Saint Louis.

Even though it feels silly to make a comment about a gas station, I have to say these guys are pretty cool. Their auto-repair service seems prompt and they have a bunch of repeat customers. The main reason I’m leaving a note is because they carry Bawl’s Energy drinks. Any place that carries the guarana-sweet caffeine drink is a winner!
