Didn’t meet expectations after seeing the reviews and 4.5 star rating. Had the catch of the day, which was the Halibut and the fish was cooked perfecting(hence 3 stars). Took of two stars for the sides and the lack of options on the menu. The price for what was provided was too high in my opinion.

The food and service were great, we had the Shrimp and Grits, best i have ever had. The service was great our server was friendly, quick, and gave great recommendations. For main course my wife had the salmon and i had the parmigiana crusted chicken, both very good. Prices were fair for what we had.

Wonderful service, amazing food, great atmosphere! Our server Conor went above and beyond to accommodate our family and 2 week old newborn. I would highly recommend the bistro to anyone looking for a great brunch!

Must try — French toast! We went as a group of 6 for brunch on a Sunday. Every dish was amazing and we all locked out plates clean. I got a French toast and this was the best best French toast I have ever had in my life. It just melted in the mouth. Other dishes that were ordered were vegetable frittata, scrambled egg eggs Benedict etc. and every single item was delicious. Miss going to this place as we were there only for a weekend.

Brunch was extraordinary. We attempted to visit on Saturday for lunch but were unable as the St. Michaels running festival was going on and they were booked solid. Fortunately after mass we stopped by right as they opened and were promptly seated. My wife had the cream of crab soup and I had the mussels. Both were extraordinary. We both ordered the Crab cake eggs Benedict but could have probably split an order between us. The server was prompt and took very good care of us.

This was our second time dining at the Bistro. This is a spot that you should always have on your list. Our server, «G,» was incredible and very personable. We are certainly«foodies,» and the options we chose — fritatta, quiche, and muscles — did not dissappoint. In fact, the quiche was the best I’ve ever had.

Recently stopped in for brunch on a Sunday after a road trip from Northern Virginia. Fantastic food, service and ambience. Hands down the best crab Benedict that I have ever had!

Our go to brunch spot on the peninsula. Highlights: Enormous fruit plate served on a carved out pineapple with mascarpone; Thick brioche french toast that is off the charts with a perfect crust and chantilly cream; Crab cake eggs benedict. The crab cakes with no filler and real crab. Excellent hollandaise sauce. Nice comfortable atmosphere and a solid bar all help. Minor complaints is that the coffee is just diner level and that portions on the quiche seem very random. What really puts them over the top is the stellar front of house service. Deborah is a rockstar and one of the best front of house managers I have seen on either coast. She is as vital to this place as Steph Curry is to the Warriors. Without her on the floor the Bistro is just another four star restaurant.

Aside from sending the frozen pork back twice, it was a lovely place with tasty food.

My mom, sister, and I chose Bistro St. Michaels for brunch before heading to the Inn at Perry Cabin for a spa day. We were enticed by the delicious looking menu and the good Unilocal reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. We enjoyed brunch cocktails and coffee to start, and got the fresh fruit platter. The fruit was delicious, but was supposed to be served with mascarpone and honey; the mascarpone was missing. My mom got an excellent BLT with french fries, my sister got the chorizo hash, and I got the crab cake Benedict. All were good(especially the bacon featured in the BLT and Benedict), but my Benedict was served without any English muffin or other bread. I was surprised since this is a traditional Benedict element. It was a pretty messy and gooey dish(in a good way due to perfectly poached eggs) and could have benefited greatly from some bread. When I asked for an English muffin, they charged me $ 2. I wouldn’t have minded except the dish was already $ 23 and English muffins are supposed to come with it! Finally, the service started out strong, with lots of attention and various ladies filling up our water and coffees. But as the meal went on, the service became less and less attentive. For a fancy brunch at approximately $ 40/person, especially in such a swanky town like St. Michael’s, I expect a bit more.

Delicious! The menu is a bit limited, but they also have specials — which I recommend! We started with the crab soup and the wedge salad — yum! The romaine is toasted so it has a nice char flavor on it. The soup was creamy and had a ton of lump crab. For dinner we shared the two specials. Pan seared haddock with veggies and a berre blanc sauce for my husband and homemade egg noodles in a lobster sauce with tenderloin for me. Both were amazing. So fresh tasting and the perfect portion sizes. We were too full for dessert but we didn’t leave disappointed! A bit pricey though — they didn’t tell us the specials price up front.

I’ve been here for brunch twice now, and the food has been excellent both times. The croque monsieur(or madame with an egg) is delicious. The Old Bay Bloody Marys are really good, too. The second time we were there, our waitress was super awkward about recommending«adult cocktails» for my parents and referring us «kids»(we’re in our mid-late twenties) to the soda/juice section. That was kind of weird, but other than that, we had a great experience!

Terrible meal. Mussels were not fresh and poorly cooked. Frisee salald was not well prepared. Staff very energetic almost to the point of being too bothersome. Glass of wine was the only saving Grace! Will noy go back

As some of the other Unilocalers have noted, the Harbor Inn directs its guests to Bistro with a 2 for 1 drink special. Everything I had at Bistro was quite delicious, beginning with the fresh bread and crab soup. I’m not usually a fan of crab, but I decided to come out of my shell for this dinner. As for the entrees, I got the steak frites and my date got the braised short ribs. The short ribs were so soft and succulent that we did not even need a knife to cut them. Awesome. For dessert, we split the crème brûlée platter, which had traditional, espresso, and lemon flavored crème brûlée. All were good, and espresso was an especially nice touch to end the dinner. My only criticisms are that the dining area is tiny and cramped, and the waiters lingered over us a little bit(when we got there, we were the only table, so that made things awkward).

Yes I agree it is one of the best in a town that surprisingly to us has mediocre dining choices. The manager and wait staff really did a knockout job for us while dining with friends last Valentine’s day! So we will definitely go back. Yeah the pubs are fun! And the pickin’ crab thing is fun! But to keep them on cue they really need some vibrant competition before they too turn into a Ye Olde… Bistro.

This is the Sister Restaurant Of The Beautiful Harbor Inn Marina & Spa of St. Michaels which I STRONGLYRECOMMEND! I Made an «Open Table» reservation for a Birthday Dinner for my Special Date! I was looking for somewhat of an Intimate Table. I was seated in a «Corner» but Comfortable seat next to another couple. O.K. The restaurant was«Cozy & Upscale». The Greeting I received was warm and friendly. My Date and I felt Rushed, as we had a 6:00 pm reservation, and we wanted to enjoy the evening. I had reviewed the menu last month in anticipation of what I would be ordering. We started out with a «Pear Martini», & «Blood Orange Manhattan» aka«Bistro Manhattan», which was an excellent choice. The Appetizer was my pick«Pork Bellies with Free Range Deviled Eggs». That really blew my mind this combo. The Pork Bellies were Deep Fried, but not Greasy. Tender, not Salty. The Deviled Eggs were Typical of a Pick Nick outing, however, I was expecting something more exotic. My Birthday Girl ordered one of the Specials. «Bistro Crab cake with Squash, Artichoke Hearts in a Creamy, Delicious Sauce, with the Bistro’s Home Made Pasta». The Crab Cake was good, however, a spice, probably Oregano, Overpowered the Crab. In Lieu of a Meal, I ordered the Mussels that were Plump, and in a Delicious Broth serve with slices of toasted Artisan Bread. I Also had the«Duck Crêpe». A delicious Slaw, accompanied by a Crêpe with Tasty, however Stringy & Dried Duck. The Dessert was a «TINY» slice of Tiramisu that was served with a candle. I was expecting more of the dessert, A Larger Portion, Better Plating, Especially since it was for a birthday dinner. A nice wine & Drink List. Service was ATTENTIVE, however rushing. Looking forward to reviewing their Sister Restaurant«Masons» in Easton, Md. Chef Gary Curry

What phenomenal food! A little house looking restaurant in an adorable town and you wouldn’t expect five star cuisine but from the moment you walk in you know it’s special. It’s cozy and has the most helpful and attentive staff. The food was fresh and delicious. They had a special pasta that was to die for. I even tried octopus for the first time and loved it! If I’m ever back in the area you can bet I will visit the bistro again.

So glad we stumbled upon this little, French-inspired gem(thank you, Ava’s for being too busy!). Right in the heart of St. Michael’s, The Bistro(re)opened about one year ago and has enjoyed a nice following. The manager, Deborah, is a former server from Sherwoods Landing(at the Inn at Perry Cabin), which means her standards for her staff are high — and it shows. Our waiter, Tom, was personable, professional, and honest(one of the best qualities in the food business): when we asked about the popcorn crab, he mentioned it was out of season(it is, I was just feeling«Spring-y» this particular Saturday) and steered us towards more seasonable items. The brunch was amazing, and fairly priced. Our croque monsieurs(some of the best we have ever had, and we have had our share of croques!) were $ 12 each(with a nice portion of pommes frites), our cocktails $ 11 each(a bellini and a mimosa). The menu is wide, and also offers lunch items(burgers, sandwiches), so they have something for everyone. I definitely recommend The Bistro; however, due to its intimate size you may want to call ahead for a reservation or hook up with them on Open Table.
