My $ 3500 purchase had it all! Rude salesman, delivery scheduling issues, missing installation orders, incompetent store managers and the impossibility to reach corporate office for support. Take your appliance purchasing business elsewhere. It’s just not worth it.

Recent purchase here went very well. I was on the market for a new dishwasher, and after checking out a few other stores I stopped by HH Gregg to continue browsing with no direct intention to buy there. We entered the store and took a few minutes to walk around and get a feel for what we were looking for. After getting to the part of the store we needed to, and as we were starting to check products more thoroughly, a sales rep, Ahmad, showed up to offer his assistance. He was very friendly, honest, and I appreciated that he gave us time to ‘settle in’ before coming to greet us. Ahmad informed us of the products and pointed out a few things to look for when purchasing a new dishwasher. After finding the one we wanted(a Maytag at a killer price), Ahmad showed up again to offer to create a sale. He let me know that my sale was eligible to finance for a year interest free, which would also bring the price down 5% for opening the account. We set a delivery for 4 days later and finished our trip in about 25 minutes. I plan on returning very soon to see Ahmad again concerning a home theater purchase, this was the just about the ideal retail experience.

Yes the sales staff and manager are aggressive — -aggressive enough to be competitive with the big ass Costco next door. They were determined to not let us get our air conditioner anywhere else and I feel like we made a solid deal on a decent product. We were shopping for dishwasher, gas stove, air conditioning units, and a microwave. We walked outta here with the air unit. Not sure why they wouldn’t bundle a decent price on a microwave that day but I tried. I won’t buy unless I’m getting a good deal… Didn’t care for the pseudo names they gave themselves at this joint on the name tags… things like chip, sport, ace, etc etc. I am usually all about fun and festivities but it just seemed over the top. If i’m in the market again I will swing by this location and give them a shot at getting in the game…

I think this store is done with its growing pains. I read a review from October and it mentioned the sales associates being aggressive. I experienced the opposite. My husband and I walked into the store on kind of a whim to look at new televisions. We walked all the way to the televisions in the back of the store without being hassled once. It was not busy so there were sales associates milling around but we were given polite smiles and were not approached for a bit. After we had spent about 4 – 5 minutes walking from tv to tv, Ahmad approached us and asked if we had any questions he could answer. He gave us some general knowledge on how tv technology has changed in the past few years and some honest information about which brands he likes the best and why. After that, he left us alone to explore. We decided that we liked a 60 inch Samsung and ended up completing the purchase within 30 minutes of walking into the store. There were two models, one with a webcam and one without but they were priced $ 400 apart. Ahmad explained that the webcam was really the only difference and that we could buy an HD webcam for much less than $ 400 and the tv would be exactly the same. So right away, he had our best interests in mind. We bought the tv and got free delivery because that tv was universally priced. When the tv was delivered we quickly realized that it wasn’t going to work in our house. We have a ton of natural light in our living room and the new Samsungs have glass screens that reflect absolutely everything. Even at night I could see the lamp in detail in the screen. The next day we returned to the store with the tv and ended up exchanging it for a larger, more expensive tv. The price difference for us was a credit of $ 50. We got a tv that was 10 inches larger and $ 450 more expensive but they gave us $ 50 back. Keep in mind that it was our problem for not realizing how reflective our first choice was. They did not need to do anything but exchange tvs but instead they gave us a credit. No restocking, no hassles, just amazing service. I was thoroughly impressed and would be happy to shop there again.

So I stopped in during their Soft opening and looked at what they had to offer. I guess the appliances where pretty decently priced and they have a good selection, but Big Blue down the road has them outmatched as far as how much they carry. Everything else was typical Electronics and to be quite honest the layout wasn’t that great. I wasn’t to impressed and will most likely not be back, mainly because they don’t carry much in the way of computer supplies.

Sales reps from every corner of the store rushing in to talk to me. Cheesy sales pitches? Ladies… is this what its like to be at a bar on a Saturday night(desperate guys vs desperate sales reps)? I have never felt so wanted, yet so violated in my entire life. I like walking into a store ad having maybe 5 minutes, or so before I am trounced on by a sales person. When I say I’m just looking its because I am an educated consumer and I don’t need you pointing me to the unit that will give you the most commission. So here is my experience… I am walking into this place and after being asked by the 3rd sales person if I need help(in about 30 seconds), along comes the annoyingly desperate one. I tell the salesperson that I am just looking at things and don’t need help and the response«In case you didn’t notice we have a lot of TV’s in here.» Really, dude I am looking at headphones, and you’re trying to sell me a TV? That’s your sales pitch? I’m standing right there waiting to be sold to, and that’s what you throw at me? Bush league. I know it’s a retail shop, but the kids at Best Buy are more polished than that. Oh. but it’s not over yet. I then say thanks and ignore the person and go about my business. As I am walking out of the store I stop and ask someone about a phone charger, and bam the annoying sales rep is literally right behind me. Wow. I am taken over to the phone chargers, and again«Hey we have alot of TV’s you know.» I’m not kidding… this really happened. Funny thing is that I was actually coming into buy a TV and wanted to take my time looking at the store, but the annoying rep killed the sale. I ended up going to Sears, and buying a much better tv for roughly the same price as the one HH had for sale. Toshiba 32 in for 239.00 vs Curtis(whatever brand that is) for 219.00. HhGregg… you don’t need to run your stores like a car lot. Your set up is going to drive people away. It already turned me off. Regarding the stores set up, it’s big, empty, and open… easy for the preying eye of a desperate sales rep to swoop down on an unsuspecting customer.
