Our favorite Mexican restaurant this side of the river. Service is always good, chips and tortillas always fresh and homemade. I personally love the chimichanga and top shelf margaritas. Give this place a shot, it’s really good food and fun atmosphere.

Best Mexican food in the St. Louis area. Food has incredible flavor and is well seasoned. The salsa is great with a little heat. We have moved on from the standard chains and only go to Los Cabos

When this restaurant first opened we were frequent diners. I would even take my out of town guests touting it as my favorite. I took a friend in for lunch on Friday afternoon and we were seated in the bar area. I have a gluten allergy so I am very specific about my orders. I tip well for this. My friend ordered the chicken nachos and I asked that my grilled chicken taco salad be served on chips instead of the flour based bowl. I pointed to the menu item and explained my reasoning. When our waiter brought the food I was presented with chicken fajita nachos. Anyone familiar with me knows I would never order something heaped with green peppers and onions. My next stop would be the ER. I quickly apologized to the waiter and explained there must be some mistake this was not what I ordered. He opened his ticket and said yes you ordered this. I asked him to bring me the menu and again I showed him the item that I had requested. I explained to him that I could not eat what he brought. He argued with me that the grilled chicken taco salad was served with vegetables which it was not. I asked again for the correct dish. After mumbling under his breath he said he would be back in a few minutes. I was again presented with an item I did not order. I chose not to say anything and ate the grilled chicken from the chips which was dry as a bone. I will no longer bring friends and family from out of town to enjoy this establishment which chooses not to make items as described on the menu. This place has gone down hill and doesn’t even care.

This was our first time to Los Cabos Cantina. We were seated in the bar area with no waiting. The server was fairly quick to take our drink and food order. The beef fajitas were brought out several minutes before the tortillas and plate with beans, rice etc. The food was actually pretty fair once it made it to the table. We had to continually swat the fruit flies and there was some type of dried food on the wall of the booth, where we sat. Sorry to say, this is lasting impression left in our minds of this establishment. This will more than likely be our last time.

Wow. We always liked this place. This evening we were sat in the bar area for dinner. They couldn’t even keep our glasses full. They brought out one food item but not the other. 10 minutes later the item comes and it was wrong. Another 15 minutes and no replacement and no manager. Little fruit flies were bugging us the whole time while we were there. Doesn’t look like we will be back for this horrible service

They changed the menu from a month ago. I ordered the brisket tacos, the waitress said they might be out, so I said if they were, please bring me the steak burrito. She came back to the table and happily said they said they had the brisket after all, but when she brought the food it was a sliced Chicken Verde burrito. My wife had the shredded chicken tacos thirty days ago, only to be even more disappointed because the took shredded chicken off the menu as well. When we asked why, we were told that they took it off the menu because it takes too long to make. I almost fell out of my chair. Forget flavor, go with fast and boring. Throw a piece of chicken on a grill, cut it into 5 thick slices, wrap it in a tortilla with cheese, and cover it with verde sauce. I think most five year olds would appreciate this, but seriously this was a complete disappointment. My wife sent hers back, we left, never planning to return. If I want fast, bland food, I can go to Taco Bell. Way to ruin something good management and chefs!

This is the best Mexican place in St Charles county! I’ve eaten at some of the best places in Southern California and Los Cabos gives them a run for their money! The staff is awesome! You can’t go wrong with Los Cabos!!!

We had supper there last night; had to wait about 15 minutes for a patio table, even though the place was only half full. We were directed to wait and have a drink in the bar; I hate when restaurants do that when they aren’t full, and clearly there was no wait for a table. Seems like a money grab but that’s just me. After declining to wait in the bar, surprise, we were seated in just about 4 – 5 minutes. We were shown to a nice table, again, on a half full patio. Great evening to eat outside. We got some good chips with mild but flavorful salsa in just a couple minutes. Our smiling server, Ricky, arrived shortly thereafter and took our drink orders. Have to remark on Ricky, he was a very energetic and pleasant guy; he made the night. The wife and I both ordered margaritas; which tasted nice, better than some. Not too watery. Even though we asked for on the rocks with salt, the rims weren’t salted, but that was a minor point. We didn’t ask the pricing, but were a little taken aback by the $ 12.00 price for the large margarita. That’s a little much for premix and cracked ice. oh well, our fault we didn’t ask. My wife had a chicken chimi; it was huge, and packed with fresh cooked chunks of chicken and fajita vegetables. Not greasy at all; and it came with rice, beans, and a guacamole salad. Better than most; nicely done. I usually don’t even look at the menu when I eat Mexican, almost always ordering a tamale dinner. In this case, I should have, as my tamales came covered with queso rather than chili sauce. I have never seen that before, anywhere. It was very good queso, however, I would have preferred chili sauce. The tamales themselves, while somewhat small, had nicely flavored shredded pork surrounded by a very thin layer of masa. Different, yet good. They came with a decent guac salad that had some pico de gallo in it, not just iceberg lettuce. I did order a side of rice, which was much better than most Mexican joint rices I have had; this was moist and flavorful, not at all dry. The daughter had her standard chicken tenders and fries from the kids menu; not being very adventurous. She liked it, but what teenager doesn’t like that? Overall, I’d say the food is good; maybe a notch above the typical beans/rice/tortillas joint. thought it was tasty. Our bill came to $ 50 before tip; but the two margaritas were over $ 20 of that. If we would have had soft drinks or tea, it would have been a better value. Again, can’t say enough good thinks about the server; what a nice guy. He is probably one of the reasons we would return. Pros Service, reasonably good TexMex Cons Watch for the money grab being directed to the bar; drink prices excessive.

For starters, the verde and spicy salsas are amazing. Both are spicy but won’t make you drink a gallon of water after. I also loved the queso dip. Creamy and satisfying. I had the chimichanga with beans and rice. Delicious. The margaritas are fabulous and better than most I’ve had at other establishments. The service could have been a little better. Our waitress did not check on us during the meal and my husband was wothout a beverage for a bit. Overall, satisfying experience and we will be back.

really good new Mexican restaurant in this area Nice décor, pleasant service. Food is tasty and hot, well prepared. Beef and shrimp fajita a little bland to my taste — good portions of meat and large, really large shrimps.

Actually had a delicious Mexican dinner here in St. Charles, MO. The margaritas, amazing. The sopaipillas too! Our RULE normally is not to eat Mexican food outside of Texas. But I was jonesing… This was actually very good! If you are in the area you have to stop, ask for the hot salsa!

Good service, nice atmosphere and surprisingly fresh Mex. We were apprehensive at first given the history of restaurants at this location but we decided to take a chance and it has turned into one of our fave go to joints in the area. Try it!

My first visit to Los Cabos was today for lunch with my husband. We sat in the main dining area which is spacious and clean with great ambiance. It would be a good spot to meet friends for margaritas, linger and talk. There is a bar area tucked behind the entrance and a patio as well. The iced tea tasted fresh; the chips and salsa were good but nothing special. I ordered cheese enchiladas verde. They were made with the same white cheese all St. Louis area Mexican restaurants seem to use. The green sauce was great, beans great, and rice OK. I will return.

Arrived and were told we would have a 15 minute wait so we could wait in the bar and of course spend more money on cocktails. Well I don’t go for that BS when I walk around the corner and se at least 7 empty clean tables set up for service and very few others waiting at least not enough to fill 7 empty tables. I said something that this was my first time here and if they expected a repeat visit they had better find a way to seat us now. Well lo and behold they just happened to find us an empty table. Food was excellent and waitress was amazing. Will definitely return. I had the Las Cabos special and it was great.

1 star for TERRIBLESERVICE– The inside of the restaurant has a great atmosphere. It is very authentic looking and spacious. Upon arriving we ordered margaritas… Took ATLEAST15 min for it to arrive at the table. They tastes fine, not too mix like but had a lot of ice. When the food came out, most of it was good except the fajitas. The seasoning as bland and the veggies were over cooked and mushy. Pollo ranchero– good, but they origionally forgot the tortillas so the food was not hot by the time they arrived Pollo chimichanga– you get 2 very small somewhat fried chimichengas. They almost look like egg rolls, but the flavor was good. Fyi it come with red sauce on top not cheese. They also forgot the rice and only gave me beans so had to wait for them to «fix» the order. Burrito– huge, tasty but needs some lettuce and toppings to freshen it up Shrimp tacos– ok, kinda bland Sopapilla– excellent, but forgot the ice cream the waiter said came on top. Instead it was covered in a ton of cool whip Overall decent food, but after several food items being sent out of the kitchen incorrect and having about 4 different wakters we will not be back. Extremely poor and slow service.

This was my first visit and I was very pleased with my meal. Their fresh chips and salsa were very flavorful. Additionally, our waiter brought a verde salsa and a hot salsa to try with our chips. Everyone at the table thought the verde salsa was tasty. I ordered the Hawaiian Quesadilla which has chicken, beef, green peppers and onions prepared fajita style in a quesadilla. The unique twist is it had pineapple and bacon in the mix for a great sweet and salty flavor. I will definitely be back. They have a create your own tacos on the menu which includes mahi mahi and shrimp as a meat option.

Since the closing of Sombrero’s last year(still don’t know why?), we have been waiting to see what would take its place. Los Cabos is a decent mexican restaurant but is by no means the best in town or is any different from any other American Mexican restaurant found in the St. Louis/St. Charles area. The margaritas are good, but are definitely made with a pre-mix and not fresh lime juice. The fajitas were a great surprise with the great spice and lime flavor marinade infused in the chicken and steak. I had more than my share and still had a full meal for lunch the next day. Overall, it was a good value for a mexican food craving on a night when you don’t feel like cooking.
