This gem is a long time family favorite of all our generations. They really know how to span a wide variety and also offer healthy choices like fresh carrot juice and sprouts! They also have gluten free options along with the best glutenous desserts! We love this place!

Great food and service! Our group had french toast, eggs, home-fries, biscuits, and sausage/bacon, and a special of the day coffee cake. Everything was great, but special shout out to their homemade biscuits(yummy!), home-fries, and french toast. Great stuff! I wanted to try their homemade boston crème pie, but they only have it sometimes. Sad about that, cuz everything else was so great.

If you have never been here you are missing the best lunch around. The grilled feta on pita(my favorite) is to die for. Everything is fresh and Homemade. Specials daily. And if you like pie you are going to love theirs. Parking can be a problem so come early or late if you can.

I’ve passed by this place for years and never stopped in and I’m glad I did today. The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and roomy. The food was delicious and came in a timely manner by a courteous waitress with a smile on her face. I was really impressed with the place. The only downfall is they do not take credit cards, and have a 99 surcharge on debit cards, which is not really a huge deal — but you might want to bring in cash if you come.

Here for breakfast. Parking a little tight. Very nice casual diner. Food was served quickly and hot. Bacon was a little thin, could have been thicker. Blueberry pancakes were full of blueberries. Too much if you just want a hint of Blueberry taste, just right if you love blueberries. Overall nice breakfast spot.

Waited 15 minutes even to be noticed; accosted a passer-by waitress to order. When our food was arrived, only half was there, and what was served was practically cold. Our order was missing condiments(ketchup, syrup for pancakes, biscuits, etc.) waited another 15 minutes for coffee refill. All in all, a classic case of a restaurant relying on its very fatigued reputation. The best characterization I can make is ‘not cheap with horrible service’. Do NOT go for lunch unless you have a FULL hour!

The great thing about St. Pete are the ample mom and pop restaurants. Kopper Kitchen is a casual restaurant where you can get tasty breakfast and lunch meals for under $ 10 and also get in and out quickly. Don’t let the luxury cars in the parking lot fool you into thinking its $$$.

Like homemade — Only better! My friend and I were heading to shop and decided we needed to find a quick place to eat. I found this restaurant was near to our location and we decided to give it a try. By the name, I expected a sort-of generic family restaurant. I did get that, but so much more. The restaurant isn’t anything fancy. There are booths around the perimeter and tables in the center. The décor is very nice and clean. I ordered a grilled vegetarian special or lunch and my friend had a combo platter with Tuna, Potato & Egg salad. My meal was cooked well and tasted great. My friend’s platter was large enough for two people. Our server was very polite and attentive. Since this place makes desserts fresh daily, we decided to splurge and ordered a coconut cream pie to share. The pie was fabulous and had a giant topping of meringue.

We had breakfast. Fast and cheap. Nothing fancy, but everything was good and the staff was warm and friendly.

If you’re looking for a diner that will fill you up for less money and more taste, this is it. The digs are simple– diner booths, diner chairs, paneled walls. It reminds me of a few diners I used to go to when I was younger. You go in, seat yourself at an open table, and wait to be served by someone who is sweet and to the point. The menu is simple but has enough variation that you will find the exact mix that you are craving for your standard American breakfast– different number of eggs(how you like ‘em), toast, grits, sausage, bacon, juice, coffee, milk, etc. My eggs were cooked exactly how I wanted. You would think eggs were a simple thing but I assure you that many people can screw up «over easy» and ruin the delicious concoction that is salt, pepper, grits, and runny eggs all mixed together. I was served quickly without too much fanfare and left alone to chow down. This is what I prefer, honestly. A restaurant isn’t a car sales lot so I appreciate the lack of intensity when I am focused on scarfing down a meal. The price is right. You can have a whole meal(eggs, grits, juice, two pieces of toast with butter and jelly) for 7 bucks plus tax. There are a lot of combos you can get for under 5 bucks. Bottom line: When I want a darn good breakfast for a little cash with good time, I will go here. Forget IHOP and Denny’s and Awful House. This is where it’s at.

I have been to Kopper Kitchen an inordinate amount of times, due to the quality eats and the proximity to my work location. This is not a fancy-pants venue; it is a family owned diner with fresh ingredients, items made from scratch, and all of the friendly that you can handle. The average age of the customers always seems to be about 72, so it makes me feel like a young whipper snapper. One of my all-time favorite sandwiches is located at Kopper Kitchen: The Veggie Reuben. It is a hot mess and oh-so-delicious. I am also a big fan of their salads.

On a recommendation from a local shop down the road, we were starving and needed a quick bite. What’s not to love? It’s 5 stars because it’s top notch for this type of establishment. It’s right on Central Ave, it’s jam packed and tells you that you can’t go wrong, the menu is like the best of the best for diners and the food and service is GREAT! I ordered a simple combo platter that consisted of a huge tuna scoop, a huge egg salad scoop and a huge potato salad scoop over some lettuce, some red tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado and a few black olives. Perfect. It was all very crisp and fresh looking and I enjoyed the entire thing! My husband had a Reuben and I am not a big fan of corned beef, but it was so lean, sliced really thin and it was excellent! Our server, Patti, was ever so nice. All in all, this is a really great spot. It’s not much to look at from the outside, but it sure fills your insides with goodness!

My husband and I love this place. Egg salad they make fresh by order. Big slabs of moist ham. Sausage patties are not pre-formed — they’re sliced from a roll of delicious breakfast sausage then flattened on the grill for cooking. Little cups of preserves and jelly — none of that plasticized jelly here. Patty melts that melt in your mouth. Homemade soups. Fresh salads. The best lemon merinque pie I have ever had is made fresh every Thursday. No chain restaurant offers food this good, and it’s served by super-waitresses who’ve been there forever. Two negatives: so-so coffee and sometimes the pancakes aren’t cooked in the middle. That said, we are sad it is closed on Sundays — we’d go every week.

Every time I visit my family in Florida I insist on a visit to the Kopper Kitchen for lunch. This place has been here for ages and what I love most about it is nothing has ever really changed. Don’t expect fancy food, but instead expect very fresh and very well prepared simple breakfast and lunch fair. My go to meal is always the small(actually huge) greek salad, and OMG is it always just what I needed and wanted. Lots of feta, fresh greens, cucumbers, great home made potato salad, red onions, tomatoes… and that amazing house dressing… it’s also served with their classic garlic roll… man I want to fly in today just to get another and it’s making my mouth water thinking about it… Now they also have a lot of other good stuff including daily specials, excellent sandwiches, and especially the soups, which are consistently fantastic… Finally, I’ve been coming here for years and they have a great family atmosphere. The servers have been there forever, which I think speaks well of an establishment and the owner is a real sweetheart of a guy who is very accommodating to families, regulars and new patrons alike. Just can’t say enough good things about this place.

This is one of my all-time favorite places to go for lunch in St. Pete. It makes me nostalgic because my friends and I came here after school nearly every day in high school and the staff recognize us to this day. I wish I could get here more because you feel at home when you go there. But anyway, on to the food… Full disclosure: as much as I love this place, I’ve never been a fan of their breakfast. With that being said, it’s been 8 years since I’ve had it so I don’t know where it stands at this point. But my favorite thing about this place is their veggie sub. I haven’t eaten meat in over 9 years and this sub has been known to be a favorite of my meat eating friends. I’ve also know their salads and clubs to be good according to friends and family. Oh, and their crispy fries… Always good. This place is like a diner with a twist. And if you’re a vegetarian, don’t pass up the sub.

Did lunch here yesterday after staying away for about two years. The gracious cashier lady tells me, sit anywhere you like, the greeting that always makes me feel welcome. It was after one on a Saturday, so no big lunch rush. Mostly a boomer crowd, my own age. All booths occupied along the wall except the last, so took that. Menus are on your table. A friendly waitress appears quickly, what would you like to drink? Coffee please, which was reloaded four times even as she was busy attending others. Since you can order breakfast anytime, went with a ham omelet plus home fries and rye toast. A few minutes and the folded omelet arrives. They get a medal for service, and waitresses seem to know most customers. A simple menu with not too many choices, a good thing as you can choose quickly. Walls adorned with copper jars plus colorful paintings. Tables and floors constantly being swept and cleaned. Courtyard entrance in the rear filled with plants, unique touch. Kopper Kitchen has been here many years in a town strewn with memories of dead restaurants. Only cash accepted

OK everyone, there is a review below mine(One Star) that I think is quite unfair, and obviously meant to hurt this great place…(just had to add this on 4÷3÷2013) Here is my review, exactly as I first posted it, and it still stands today: When it comes to a breakfast/lunch place, there are a few things people don’t usually consider. 1. What is the overall quality of the food… it is truly made by hand, or are the recipes and ingredients sold to the place by the food distributor? 2. Do you see the same people in the place over and over, year after year? 3. Do you know exactly where to sit on different days of the week, so you get your favorite server? This is the way Kopper Kitchen operates, for over 30 years: They make their own sauces, salad dressings, etc. right there in the kitchen, and they are really excellent quality and taste great. The produce they buy is first rate, so your salad will be great! They have lots of «salad» sandwiches… Chicken, tuna, etc. and they make them all from scratch in house, never bought from the food service. They make their soups, daily, from a recipe, not from a plastic tub, can, etc. They have a vegetarian special, daily, and it is amazing how great they are, even for a omnivore like me! On Wednesday the 5th, I had the Lentil soup and meatloaf with seasoned rice and gravy. So hot you have to wait for it to cool… perfect. So good, I had to finish it all, even though I knew I was overeating… Oh well, I will just cut back on dinner. And the place is packed, Kathy is my favorite server, the owner, Fred, has a rotation of his three daughters helping him from time to time… and they all work together… Really, there are simply no other places in a 20 mile radius that can come close Kopper Kitcken for food, friendliness, service and overall quality. If I eat elsewhere, I usually wish I had gone to Kopper.
