The food was dry, cold, and tasteless. This food doesn’t qualify to be a bbq restaurant. I didn’t read the Unilocal reviews until I had already sat to eat. The food is cheap but you get what you pay for. Will not recommend this to anyone.

If you have any experience with true BBQ don’t expect to be impressed. I was excited to take my beers here from The Ale and the Witch to order some food as it reminded me of one of my favorite places back in St. Louis. While they are similar in concept they differed quite a bit it in taste and cost. I ordered the brisket platter. It was way overpriced at 15 dollars and came with only one side and some boring white bread buns. The brisket was somewhat dry and chewy. I appreciated the variety of bbq sauces but I tried several and the flavors where not distinctive enough and they were all rather watery. I enjoyed my side of Mac and cheese shells the most. There was a jazz trio and a casino night going on. My recommendation would be to come for the entertainment but not the food.

Taste-less food, sauces were alright(I guess anything to mask the horrible food) and overall the buffet was cold. We can finally cross this place of our list to visit, we actually wish we never walked in. I can see why this place was empty on a Friday Lunch hour.

Came here for lunch on a weekday to meet friends who knew about it. You wouldn’t stumble across this place — it is tucked away on a second floor couryard with no real signage to speak of. As a result the place was pretty much empty the whole lunch hour… That being said, we had a buffet BBQ that was good and tasty. The service was good and nothing ran out. The bread pudding was especially good! I would come back because the food and servcie was good, but I’m not sure how they stay in business being so hidden.

LOVE this food and the sauces. Athens and Kansas sauce are my favorite. I highly recommend the mac n cheese and the jalapeño grits. I have also had the tofu wrap which is DELICIOUS. Tons of flavor and variety at this local stop in St Pete.

First timer here, prime location and nice environment. Good service as well, and the signage and menu are great. On to the food! I got the Pulled chicken platter which comes with two sides as my did my girlfriend. The chicken itself is right off the bird and comes like classic BBQ should fat n all. Thats a big plus and the sauce selection is great and tasty. Mashed potatoes were very good and country style(skin) while the shells n cheese were ok. BBQ beans were really good while the coleslaw left a lot to be desired. All n all the food was good with fair prices. Not something i would go out of my way for but if I was back in the area I wouldn’t think twice about come on by. Would give it a 3.5 if i could.

Hey, I had to find something close by and open at 10PM on a Thursday. The Witches BBQ Den fit the bill. They’re pretty much fast food. The server/order-taker was super friendly, fast, and helpful.(I was the only patron at the time.) I had chicken with BBQ sauce and a side of broccoli and collard greens. The portions were ample. The roasted broccoli was rather good.

The lunch buffet is to die for if you are a meat lover. $ 10 all you can eat with the quality of food that they have is probably the best deal you’ll be able to find around here. It is every weekday from 11:30 until 5 I believe. Highly recommended to everyone

The staff were super friendly and helpful picking out our meal as my wife and I were debating between several different options. They were very quick in getting our food to us. The food was amazing! The pork was very tender, no knife needed!

I love this place! We come here a lot, but my favorite experience was when The Whole Tones were playing, and we watched from the balcony above while we ate that delicious chicken witch wrap and the mac and cheese. Seriously I am a mac and cheese fanatic, and they have an amazing recipe. Good and quick service, well priced and with entertainment at night.

Was expecting more. When I see and hear buffet, I think of a large buffet and the buffet here is very small. Maybe this is my mistake, as I am not from this area and I do not know if this is a buffet restaurant or a restaurant more geared towards choosing from the menu. I have had better food else where but for the price, I suppose I can not really complain too much, who knows? maybe I just came on a bad day as I see other peoples reviews are more positive so it could just be my own personal opinion.

I enjoy their buffet. It isn’t the best but it does the trick. I do enjoy their sweet potato casserole and bread pudding. I take a huge helping of each for my dessert. Really enjoy the music I hear in there. Lots of stuff I recognize. Plenty of Grateful Dead, Railroad Earth, Yonder, and more. I see some folks had a bad experience with the staff. My experience with the staff has been cordial and friendly.

In all fairness to The Witches BBQ Den, my experience was not a traditional one at this restaurant. I normally do not write reviews if this is the case. However, since my experience(s)(or lack there of… I will explain in a moment) have been so awful, I decided to write this review anyhow. I will not be back to the Witches BBQ Den to find out one way or another. First of all let me say that by the time we FINALLY tried The Witches BBQ Den, it was our 4th attempt. Our first attempt was shortly after they opened. They had very short hours and we came at the wrong time. Fair enough. Our second attempt we tried to come in for an early dinner/late lunch and they apparently close for a period of time between the two. Lesson definitely learned this time… check the hours. No hard feelings. Try number three. The hours said that they were opened… the doors were opened… we walked in to an empty restaurant. No employees anywhere. No patrons. Awkward. We decided to leave, we still were not sure if they were open or not. Our fourth and final experience was with a walking Brew &BBQ tour. This was our first stop of the tour. The Witches BBQ Den was again abandoned(like our 3rd attempt above). Our tour guide sat us at a table and told us to go check out the sauces while she went behind the scenes. The sauces are pretty cool because they are made for all the different regions. I didn’t feel like some of them were accurate. Some of the sauces were just plain awful, others were pretty good. I picked a few and headed back to our table. An employee set a plate in front of each of us and walked away without muttering a word. We all ate our plate without knowing what kind of meat we were served. I can tell you that it was the driest and fattiest BBQ I have ever been served. I picked up the dry, stale roll we were served, dropped the meat on and covered it with sauce. It made the food slightly palatable. We were also served baked beans that tasted like cheap can beans(seriously, Bush’s Baked Beans are way better) and some potato salad. The potato salad was the one thing that I actually liked on the plate. This restaurant knew that they were going to have people in as part of a walking tour. Instead of greeting us with open arms and a plate of food that represented the restaurant, we were ignored and served what felt like yesterdays leftovers. This was a POOR move on The Witches BBQ Den’s part. Not a single person from that tour will be returning. All of the other locations on the tour spent time with our group and left a great impression. I don’t know if this is representative of their food or not, but I would recommend staying away. There is a GREATBBQ joint not to far from here. Go to Urban Brew and BBQ instead.

I seriously just wasted $ 5! My acupuncturist is located in the same building and every time I pull into the parking garage, the Witches Den has a sign out that says«homemade» sides. Being a little early for my appointment, and being 8 months pregnant, I thought I would try their«homemade» Mac n cheese. I don’t know about you, but I don’t consider velveeta homemade mc n cheese. For almost $ 5 for this side, I thought it was quite pathetic and sad. I definitely will not be back.

I skipped this place for a long time assuming it was just«drinkin food» and therefore sub-par. It rocks, and is actually one of the best-tasting BBQ joints I have tried here in Florida — what REALLY stood out was the strength of the side dishes… Pulled Pork — solid Smoked Meatloaf — solid Shells & Cheese — excellent Jalapeño Grits — excellent BBQ Pork Beans — excellent Bread Pudding — super excellent(can’t say enough about this) Will be back!

I’m not sure. Brandon and I came here after a few drinks downtown with a friend. The service was awesome so friendly and welcoming but the food was just meh. I had a bbq chicken wrap with mashed potatoes and corn in it and I thought the sauce was super Spicey and it wasn’t amazing tasting to me. Brandon had the same thing with bbq pulled pork and wasn’t blown away by it either. For a side I had the baked beans and Brandon had the jalapeño grits. While the bakes beans were tasty Brandon didn’t think too much of the jalapeño grits. Overall I felt the food was over priced for the quality and portions and I wasn’t sure whether I was meant to think it was fast food or a restaurant. It was cool they served beer. which I mention this because I was thinking of it as fast food. not a sit down restaurant. They’ve got some work to do in my opinion.

I was really close to giving Witch’s BBQ4 stars, but the brisket was a bit fatty. I still think this establishment has a lot of potential, but they need to find a way to be more unique and cash in on the Ale and Witch craft brew fans. The restaurant inside is very specious, but felt empty for how packed the outside courtyard was on a Friday night. Maybe it would help if they could get another band inside the Witch’s BBQ and maybe a full bar. That may sound far fetched but I would like to see them capitalize on the potential and last for a long time, I think Ale & Witch will but considering how empty the Witch’s BBQ was on a Saturday, not sure how long it will last. The brisket was a bit too fatty, the actual meat parts were wonderful, but almost half was fat. That is why I had to rate 3 stars. The Athens Georgia mustard based BBQ sauce was excellent. I liked that they had different BBQ for different locations. The sweet potatoes were amazing. The pork and beans also very impressive. I really like the fact there is good food near the Ale & the Witch, and while I think I I just got a bad batch of brisket, the sides were wonderful, and the Witch’s BBQ looks like it has a lot of potential. The staff could be a bit more enthusiastic, kinda like a welcome to MOE’S type energy, and I would like to see this place pick up. I suspect I will eat here more in the future. I would not suggest you go out of you way to try this BBQ, but I would suggest you go out of your way I check out the Ale & the Witch and the wonderful selection of beers they have, and while your there, I would not stop you from trying some of this BBQ while you are enjoying your cold beverage.
