Palm Beach Tan

After my experience here, I will go elsewhere. My tanning package expired, and I was unaware of an expiration date. The manager let me use the expired tan and persuaded me to buy another package of three in May. I just went tanning and was told that I only have two sessions left. No manager was there to speak with. I was told I’d be given a courtesy tan after I said I want a refund, but I think the girl working took another session out of my package, which leaves me with one. What a stressful experience. Allegedly, a manager is supposed to be calling me tomorrow about the refund that I want since I don’t even want to deal with this place anymore.

The prices are a little steep, but the front desk associates are always friendly and easy to talk to. The customer service is great.

Prices are fair. Staff has mostly been friendly fast and pleasant. Its annoying when the lotion bottle in the spray room is dirty and when they run out of nose cloggers.

Has become the worst place ever. Don’t go here. I have been coming to Palm Beach Tan for years and have never had anything bad to say about them at all. This past season my entire experience has been horrible. Before I lay it out I want to make a note on the fact that the only good review this place has received on Unilocal is from 2013. Don’t be fooled into thinking its the same store that it was then. Shortly after the new 2015 year started, the location shifted from franchise to corporate and the quality went to shit. They got rid of the good staff members that I would see there for years and replaced them with a staff that is straight up just trying to sell the most expensive things by lying.
I got screwed on lotion. I’ve been using a lotion that I’ve found is the best for my skin. I asked to buy it and they said they no longer sold that kind. The girl told me that they replaced it with a new one. The «new one» was 30 bucks more of course and she insisted it was the same thing just packaged differently. It was NOT the same thing. I checked the samples stand they have and found a sample of what I used and she told me it would be a waste cause the sample is ’20 bucks’ and they only sold them in samples anymore so I should just go with the $ 60 lotion. I decide to trust her and paid the price. The lotion did nothing but make my skin red. That’s it. I figured maybe i just needed a few days to get used to the lights. NOPE. The lotion only ever made my skin bright red followed by not tan. I go back in a week later and find the lotion that I was originally looking for FULLY stocked. They most certainly do still make it and did not replace it with a new label and increase the price by 30 bucks.
I complain about it and I’m told I can’t return the old lotion. I buy the old lotion and in 3 days show a significant improvement in my tan. I just wasted weeks of this overpriced membership not getting any results because of the lie based sales tactics that they have their staff practice. I find out online later that I could actually return it, but when I go back in they refuse again. They tell me they’ll have someone call me. Of course they were lying. So I wasted ¾ of a month trying to tan in this place because I was lied to and given the wrong lotion, and I can’t even get a refund on that lotion at all. If anything I should get a refund on the month AND the lotion because I couldn’t get any use out of the month due to the straight up lies that I was told by the staff.

Thanks to Palm Beach Tan I look like I never left California.
It’s clean, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. It’s pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Only drawback? The 4 pre-​selected music stations suck, but at my old place in the SF Bay Area all they played was a country radio station. at least these don’t have commercials.

This salon is convenient for me as I live off High Ridge Rd but that’s probably the only reason I would return here.
The pricing is overpriced at 15 for one tan or 35 a month plus 30 setup. If you only want to go 4 or 5 times they don’t offer multipacks. And what’s with the new member fee shouldn’t they be offering breaks on new members?
Several times I received goggles that were not cleaned properly and started using my own. Have been a bunch of times when noone comes out of the back when you enter. I sat there for 10 minutes my first time and they had three people waiting. We had to go search for the staff.
Beds and amenities are average for chain salons.
Went to cancel my membership on the 25^th of the month and apparently you need to cancel before the 24^th or your charged for the following month anyway and not allowed to use facilities because you canceled.

This is my favorite tanning salon in stamford! I live off Long Ridge Road so it’s a perfect location for me. The staff is super friendly and helpful here and the facility is really upscale and clean.
All of the beds bulbs are changed as soon as they start wearing down and the beds are always clean. They have a TV in the waiting room (with nice cushiony chairs) and there are lotions to purchase behind the counter and sample lotion packets on a rack on top of the counter. Your bed will always have a clean town and eye goggles on top. There is also a small vanity area with hair ties, baby wipes, after-​tan lotion and tisses. After your done tanning put your goggles in the clear container marked «dirty» and your towel will either go in the white hamper or in the little hole on the vanity counter marked «towels». Restroom is located in the back of the salon and there is also a Mystic Tan booth right across from it.
If you put your e-​mail address they usually have promotions and deals they’ll e-​mail you. It’s kind of pricey to have a membership here although it’s definitely cheaper if you choose the «bill my credit card» option. I wouldn’t recommend buying individual sessions as they are a waste of money and you definitely get way more for your money if you choose a package. Parking is located in the back or the «front» of the salon. There’s usually space but sometimes it can get busy during the day, I recommend going at night (and it’s open until 11 pm!) you have a better chance of getting the bed you want and parking.
