Cute little pastry shop! It had a wide variety of cakes to choose from! Oh and did I mention that they had the best sugar chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had?!

This bakery is amazing! I love their cheesecakes, rainbow cookies, cannoli and apple turn overs. Today I purchased a cannoli filled rainbow cookies and it was the best I have ever had! I love this place and all their goodies are so yummy. I am picky girl but this place seriously rocks!

Called this morning to order chocolate covered strawberries for thanksgiving. They were too busy to take the order so I went in this afternoon. Was told they don’t do that. When I asked why and said I called this morning was told we don’t do that. Ok so then I don’t buy there.

Everything we ever had from here was FABULOUS! Four stars instead of five? I wish they offered a chocolate butter cream layer cake with the hard chocolate icing. There chocolate butter cream has to be one of the best I’ve ever had.

Great atmosphere very clean and polite employees. I have to visit more to give it 5 stars.

This Alfonso’s location boasted a tremendous but pretty awful lobster tail for $ 4.95, an annoying total when you’re cash only with no tip jar.

Alfonso’s is the only place on Staten Island I will buy a cannoli from. Some of the best you will ever taste. This place is always clean and the staff is always friendly. Check this place out and make sure you get the cannoli.

Just picked up some pastry they are absolutely delicious! Fresh just the way they should be, the perfect compliment to the perfect cappuccino we are drinking! The cannoli are so creamy, the sfogliatelle crunchy, moist and melts in your mouth, and the Pasta Ciotti what can I say, Sta Bene!!! The girls that work there, well they are sweet hearts! This made my night! Thank you Alfonso!

The Red Velvet Cake is the best cake that I have ever had. Everyone there is very helpful and friendly. This is a great find.

Ive tried this place several times over what must be 20 + years. Grocery store quality despite the reviews. I’ve never liked anything I ever tasted from this place.

Without question, the best Italian pastries on Staten Island: rainbow cookies, sfagitelle, sfingi, cannoli filled to order and chocolate covered, lobster claws, cream puffs (whipped and cannoli cream filled) lace cookies, rhum au baba are but a few of the standards the family orders for holidays. Also like that they offer minis, so you can try more without wrestling a loved one to the ground. Father’s Day ’14 was no exception, the items tasted were as delicious as I recall.
Their cakes and holiday specials are also standouts: particularly Cassata, Easter pie varieties, St Joseph’s pastry and struffoli. «American» pies and cakes are good, too. You can’t go wrong.
Sometimes we take a culinary journey into our past and are disappointed: never the case here. There’s a territorial argument about which location carries the «best» delicacies: for us, no contest.

Alfonso’s is the B E S T bakery we have on Staten Island, We might need to wait in line but when you bite into their chocolate cannoli or the amazing whipped cream puff the wait was so worth it. The girls are very kind a pleasant to speak to and they always give you a sample bag of goodies to go. I’ve gotten a jelly donut and even some cookies. I like the one on victory blvd but the one in great kills tops them by far. Alfonso’s is my bakery forever

Went for the Banana Cream Pie, it is delicious! Even the bottom crust was really good. As I passed the young lady the change she gave me a «free» sample of «?»… I figured it was Italian cookies. I click in the Banana Cream with the seat belt (front seat). I start the car and think, let me grab a cookie. So I grab and look its not a cookie its a small wedge of cake, «CHEESE APPLE CRUMB CAKE». WOW, that’s delicious! I never cared for crumb cake, or apple pie, now mixed with cheese cake, «PERFECT»!..

Friendly service. Didn’t have to wait long even though their was a line. The reason for the 3 stars is the cookies were ok. They were edible and good but I’ve had better. I haven’t ate Italian cookies In forever and I was waiting for that wow factor and didn’t get it.

What makes this place a local gem is the fact that they have traditional Italian pastries that taste the way they are supposed to taste! The best ever here are the rainbow cookies. It seems that it is so hard to get rainbow cookies that taste the way they used to in this area. They are often too sweet and flooded with raspberry jelly. But not here! These rainbow cookies are perfect — no skimping on the marzipan and made with the PERFECT amount of orange jelly.
This place also has awesome cannolies and chocolate cannolies as well. Their other wares such as their sun-​dried tomato bread and other breads are worth a try as well. I always make it a point to come here at least once when I visit. Locals — DO NOT take this place for granted as you seem to do with everything else!

I believe in trying cupcakes anywhere I see them offered. It’s one of those things I must do – even right before my wedding, I was eating cupcakes more than the average person.
I saw they served cupcakes here and my family wanted to introduce my now husband to some traditional Italian cookies.
We bought a cookie platter (heavy on the cannolis) and three cupcakes.
Red Velvet is my go to cupcake. Any bakery worth a damn will try to make a top notch red velvet. The combination is classic, the recipe can seem simple. Well, this cupcake was terrible. The cake was dense, poorly mixed, overly sweet. The frosting was sickeningly sweet. We couldn’t finish this cupcake because it was so terrible.
Oreo wasn’t any better. It took three people to try to even put a dent in that cupcake. It was horrendous. The cake was just as dense and extra sweet (with NO MOISTURE) the red velvet but the frosting was worse, if you can imagine. It’s a dense, extra sweet frosting that requires CHEWING. I’m serious. I wish I could forget eating it.
The only reason I give them two stars instead of one star is because their cookies were OK. I’m not jumping for joy about them — I’ve had WAY better — but they were OK.
Do yourself a favor — save your money.
